Coup de foudre

âWell, I suppose this does give the porters an easier time. How charitable of you~â
Kouen wasnât one for nostalgia. Remembering the past only made it harder to stay in the present, pushing thoughts of the future even further away from realization. Not to mention the fact that his memories were rather monochrome, filled with seemingly endless days of work.Â
But something happened when he met Sphintus.
Unconsciously, he finds himself reminiscing about the smallest things, the simplest gestures shared between them. The thoughts come quietly, naturally in moments of stillness. Little bursts of color in an otherwise dreary timeline.
â⊠I suppose youâll have a lot to tell your family when you return.â
He rolled his eyes at the otherâs sarcasm âWell not all of us are just rolling in possessions, old manâ He pointed out, emerald eyes falling on the rather extensive matching luggage that Kouen had placed beside his own rather meager amount of bags. It was almost strange, he had come to Brieve alone, and had intended to leave as such, so to be preparing to leave with the company of Kouen it was almost surreal... The last year had been like a blur, all the bad memories outweighed by the times that mattered, the times he felt... Loved.
Though he was pulled from his reverie at Kouenâs next words, unable to help the shit eating grin that had made itâs way to his features.
âAbout that~ I may or may not have told them all about you over Skype, so I hope you are ready for a lot of questions. My parents are rather eager to give you 20 questions, but my aunt and uncle also live with us, and my cousins... My grandparents shouldnât be so hard on you, but my little sisters are another story...â he trailed off, eager to see Kouenâs âexperienceâ handling the full Carmen Clan.
