MY BETTER HALF SAID LETS DO A SHOW... OH AND SHOW WE DID!!!!
One of the things we love Austin, and hell the reason we even do this is because on any given, random night... There is a show going on in good 'ol Austin.
So, of course Evelyn hits me up with this show going on. It was at a new venue that we never been to before, which made me that much more excited!!!!
With that said, lets start with the venue, shall we? It was good vibes all the way. Had an open floor in front of the stage, and a sexy bar with sexy bartenders. That is pretty much my check list right there, so the bar passed as far as I know. The better half, also known as Evelyn, loved it as well (I'm pretty sure her list was way more extensive than mine). A quick highlight was the pineapple vodka fusion drink, which was quite delicious.
The first band up was The Moonshinners. With three band members of the four piece band been able to do lead vocals, they had much to offer. So here is the setting, you got my boy on the lead guitar making it sound like it is a violin. Then you got the keyboard putting in some blues in the mix. The bass was moving his fingers quick enough to where you thought he didn't have any. Finally the man on the drums made sure the heart of the band was beating loud keeping them all in pure harmony along the same highway. Ya, that's about right!
The next band up was The Treetop Sailors. Of course the drummer decided to be the outcast and not have long hair, cause there is always one, right? The lead singer killing it not only on vocals but also on the keyboard of course. The whole band just seem to be one. It was quite a pleasure to see them perform, with a great songs and awesome energy. I always say, it's best to hear it from the hourses mouth, so I will be posting their reverbnation here. I will say, they are a must see in my book. Good band, great surprise!!!
Treetop Sailors
So here is what happens when you get a pair of 3D glasses and a couple of beers
This dumbass and the many many many faces of Ms. Evelyn!!!

I SAID I WOULD RUN A MARATHON, AND DAMN IT I MEANT IT!!!!!!
Before we get started here is a bit of irony. I gave my self the new years resolution that I will run a half marathon this year and do a full marathon in 2013. As I trained for the half, I said man that is a lot of running and training. I will do the half then do a full. I think I will just do the full this year and get it over with!!!! And that is how my laziness got me to do the full marathon on November 11, 2012. I will have to admit, I am a goal motivated person. Without a definite goal, I am just wondering my life away. This was the toughest goal ever!!!! I tried to tell myself it was just a really long jog, but I am here to say it is more than that, way more!!!! I already had a pretty good start where I was able to run 5 miles, no biggie. A friend told me of the Hal higdon trainig program. That is when ish got real and I got going. Went to 9 miles before I could say arroz con pollo three times with a spanish accent!!! Kept it moving and then decided that I would do my long stretches either down Town Lake, or San Antonio. I posted some of the beautiful scenery down Town Lake, but here are some again!!! The hardest part was the diet, by far!!! I couldn't keep it for more that 2 days in a row. By then I was like, well I earned these 50 nuggets!!!! ahahahaa This is the longest run I did before the marathon. I should have followed the program, as I did this the weekend prior to the marathon. Life just kept telling me, "you know jose, this 20 miles thing is just not the business!!!" or that could have been my legs, IDK. Here is when I picked up my package for the race!!! Finally the day of!!!!! Here is what I came face to face with! Hey everyone lets go to the porta potties, I heard Jose has to pee!!! Assholes!!! Just seconds before the run!!! AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! AAnnnddddd we are off!!! I actually trained myself to run with the HellagoodInc. thumbs up!!!! hahaha Now this may or may not have been on my playlist!!! hahahaa src="http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r539/jose_vargasgn/MARATHON/IMG_1645.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"/> This was at the 18 Mile mark... It was "no bueno" status at this point!!! Ohh there were times of strugle!!! This is the face you make when you see the finish line, and every muscle in your legs is cramping up, begging you to stop, but your heart is in control telling you, we came too far, DIG DEEP!!!!! I MADE IT!!!!!!!! One of the best feelings ever!!!!! Here is my brother with me at the finish line!!! I saw him serveral times during the run. She actually ran the last stretch with me!!!! It doesn't get more motivational than that my friends!!! Here is what I earned. Lot of sweat, lot of cramps, but heart more than anything!!!! Amazing experience. Here is why I never stopped, dedicated this run to my son. The reason for all I do!!! Check out how much weight I lost. I was 187 Lbs the day of the race, when I started training I was at 236 Lbs.... mmaannnn someone feed that man, PLEASE!!!! At the end of it all, it was trully an amazing experience, one I will not do again. I just wanted to check it off my bucket list. None the less I learned three things from this. 1) If you are going to do something, prepare for it. 2) No matter hom much you prepare for it, at the end it may be all heart that keeps you going. 3) YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU TRULLY PUT YOUR MIND TO!!!!!!!!!!
HALLOWEEN IN AUSTIN IN AUSTIN IS LIKE WATCHING THE WIZARD OF OZ (MUTE) WITH PINK FLOYD ON THE BACKGROUND WHILE SMOKING OUT WITH BOB MARLEY... YEAH, JUST LIKE THAT!!!!
So I decided to have some fun here in Austin for Halloween. I didn't do much and listened to all the scared souls about staying away from downtown, cause it gets (and I quote) cray cray last year. I finally got down to what I wanted, and decided to go Prince. I almost went yellow pants nalgas out prince, but decided on Dave Chapelle Prince instead. Everything was perfect, but the hair was the toughest part. I could not find a wig, and even had to get a second one at that. Anyway, all n all, it was an epic night, well both of them. So next Halloween, don't be a caca-face and get out there.... Austin always takes your life, highlights it, adds some sparkles, presses ctrl+B on it and finally puts in cheat-code to make it awesome. Not to mention that I have been drunk enough to not make it home many nights, so it may even put the UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A, START on it at some point!!!! Here are some quick captions of my night!
He was Psy as a Mariachy Singer... Genius!!! Show off I need that mask. My first wig, not too Prince right? I like the wig though... I might use it for GP. He said he was fighting for your soul, I said you got more of that "if you can't beat them join 'em" thing going on. I have seen like five of these out there. So I had the creep look the whole night, right. I will say, I had endless racist jokes for these two. I always asked the construction worker "so are you illegal?" and asked Michael Jackson "you realize, you could have dressed like him when he was white and saved on the make up?" I know, go straight to hell, do not collect 200. Creep look The giraffe was pretty dope She joined me in the madness How could you not take a pic with him? This costome will for ever be great! DJ Tiny, the illest DJ in Austin!!!!! love this dude!!! Ya, he was serious! You won't believe this, but she was standing up!!! Sorry it's a bit blurry, but I had to post this one!!!Working on my creel look, it was locked in!!! and I was only like two beers in on this one!!! Her costume was amazing!!! I will say, this is either my fav or one of the whole night!!!! Daft Punk!!! Well played Santa, well played Question, is he Bruce Lee, or Chris Brown the night he beat up Rhianna? (that was wrong, I know) Seriously speacking, I was scared on this one. Like he was real creepy man, I was ready to knock him out if he moved the wrong way, then continued to die as he cut my throat. I grew up with these guys!!! hahahahaa
At this point, I'm thinking I need to dress up like Prince more often, he got the ladies, you will see as it goes on!!! He had Tom Cruise down!!!! See!!! no make up needed I asked him "hey whats you costume?" he just gave me thumbs up... hahahaa His guy had that bucked filled with roman cokes all night!!! The best looking girl I saw all night!!! wow Ya, they hang out. So not only did Psy teach this country how to dance, but he also found Waldo. Man, is he running for president next? AAAnnnnnndddddd.... more ladies! Man, Austin.... THANK YOU!!!!!
you reap what you sow!!! he learned at an early age!!!
Classic... Funny we never the moments we are stepping into huh?
Some solid advice
ME: JUST KEEP RUNNING, JUST KEEP RUNNING, JUS.... LEGS: YA, YOU'RE DONE!!!!
By the tenth mile, you think this is a mirage!!!
So as you may all know, JVargas part of the good people of HellagoodInc is currently training for the Rock-N-Roll Marathon in San Antonio this coming month. I have been working very hard, but the Latin in me will not let me stay on my diet. Other than that, running running running!!!
For anyone who wishes to take on such a challenge, the Hal Higdon training plan is a good start. I am thankful for it, because I would have tried to run the 26 on day one to "see where I am." That would have led me into a hospital bed next to Jack Nicholson making the bucket list. So here is my progress.
I have ran up to 16 miles (wan't pretty) and actually feel pretty good about the whole thing. There is one thing that completely surprised me though, and that is how beautiful is the run down Lady Bird Lake Trails are!!!! I mean it is as beautiful as my mother's cooking and that is some be-a-u-tiful cooking right there. You know I'm not greedy so I wanted to share some with you guys. So enjoy and YOU ARE WELCOME!!!!
I passed this in like 1.5 seconds while running, had to turn around and snap a picture of it!!!
This was an AMAZING SIGHT!!!! I thought it was a mirror. (when I'm drinking)
I swear this tree was around when George Washington was chopping up cherry trees!!! Man, the history it must have seen. So you say you want to stand up paddle board? Here the hook up... Tell them HellagoodInc. sent ya.
I don't think this pic really caught all that was going on here... seriously
Please do... I thought this was an awesome idea! AND FINALLY HERE IS PART OF THE REASON AND I RUN AND DO LOWER BODY WORKOUTS!!!!
