backstory !
yvette hazeldine was born into a home with an abundance of love & pride , and whereas her nomad parents were constantly in and out of her life , she never had a need for longing . she lived with her grandmother in a quaint little victorian house that stood at the edge of west ham , away from civilization and the chaos .
her upbringing was fairly simple : wake up , tend to the garden , help her grandmother run errands , repeat . she never questioned why her parents were never around like the other kids’ nor did she really care — life was fine enough as is .
by the time of her eighteenth birthday , yvette began to grow bored of west ham . she loved her grandmother to death , but the idea of settling in a small town seemed unfitting . it took her a full year of nonstop saving before she bought a one way ticket to new york and never looked back .
present day !
yvette’s world came to an abrupt halt when she found out about her grandmother’s passing . the funeral was a private one , family and close acquaintances only , tight - knit . it was supposed to be a week stay in west ham and then back to the big apple she goes ! surely no one could’ve predicted the events to come . yvette , though devastated by her loss , tries to make the most out of a fucked up situation , taking up a bartending gig to keep herself occupied . she isn’t interested in conforming to stupid little rules and would rather do whatever the hell she pleases .
