Happy New Year (Yes, I know I’m 6 days late...)
Usually over the Christmas / New Year period I sit down and go through what has happened with the shop in the past year and set out what the next year should hold.
I didn’t this Christmas because it just didn’t feel right to. My grandad passed away about 10 days before Christmas which has really hit my family hard - he was 94 but he was still so vibrant and his death was sudden and unexpected. This is also why the Etsy store was closed for a few days.
The store is now reopen but with a few differences. With issues posting outside the UK (be it border issues or just incredibly slow post - yes I’m looking at you USA!) at the moment I am only posting to UK customers (this does include Northern Ireland).
The second difference is that I don’t currently have the prints or posters on the store. My beloved printer started suffering mechanical problems that cannot be repaired just before Christmas. So I purchased a new printer. Which doesn’t work properly. 3 weeks of trying to resolve the colour issue has lead to nothing and the customer service has left me feeling incredibly angry - first my paper was the issue, then it must be my Photoshop that was the problem (their Photoshop plug-in doesn’t work with CC versions but apparently that’s not their fault!), everything is seemingly my fault or I must not be using it properly.
As I argue out a return and refund of this first new printer, I’m now having to wait on the arrival of a second one. The lorries have been stuck in the backlog of those waiting to come from the continent into the UK so I just have to be patient.
Luckily the second printer is made by the same people who made my original printer so 🤞 it should work just as well as the original did. And as a bonus it should do bigger sizes - up to A2!
Hopefully the new printer will be with me by the end of the month so if you’re interested in prints or posters do feel free to message me on Etsy and I can let you know when they’re back up on the store.
International orders will resume once we get a clear idea from Royal Mail that the Christmas backlog / port issues have been resolved.
It will get better, and I can’t wait to add bigger sizes to both MacGuffin Designs and the Helleboreia Etsy stores!
