Funny story, I went looking for this cursed fucking video recently and it seems like the cw scrubbed it from YouTube (curious, because videos from the same campaign for other shows are still up). at the very least I deserved to see cas murmur “let me heal that for you,” and dean lean in expecting the forehead tap, but then cas kissing his fingertip and pressing it to dean’s bottom split lip, with dean staring at him as it heals with grace

at the VERY least I deserved to see cas gently pressing a fingertip to dean’s bottom lip to heal a split lip, and dean staring at him wide eyed, swallowing as the movement of cas pulling away tugs on it slightly. cas is treating this as if it’s the same as any other healing, but you can hear dean’s short breaths. eventually dean mumbles out a “thanks cas,” and turns and walks away. he figures it’s another one of those angel things, one of those cas things. cas just doesn’t get that. that two buddies don’t do that. he’ll explain it to him later. right now he just needs to get out of that room, it felt like all the air had gone.

but after dean has left, we see cas staring after him, still with that neutral expression, as he slowly brings his finger up and presses it to his own lips.

I think what strikes me the most how in the first three gifs, his face seems rather tense. His jaw is clenched and he stares at the fire with grim determination. He feels the loss, but he still focusses on the fact that he has to keep going on.

The last one though - his shoulders are slouched, his jaw is slacked, and his eyes don’t really focus on anything. This isn’t the face of a man who wants to keep going, really.
