Hiii I’m Link!! You may have come here from my Instagram (hellfire.hobbit), but if not, allow me to introduce myself! I’m a 17 y.o. artist from the UK, I’m non-binary, I’m autistic, and I love making things. I make predominantly traditional art, because for some reason I have this borderline beef with drawing digitally (idk why I find it so difficult!)

To get to know me, this is a Meet the Artist I made about a year ago, and I’ll probably make an updated one at some point soon, but I thought this would be a good introduction for now.

The main reason I want a Tumbr account as well as Instagram is because I feel like there’s a bit more of a sense of community on Tumbr. There definitely is on Instagram too, I just don’t really feel a part of any artist’s communities there. And that’s mostly down to me, because I don’t really try lol.

⚔️ Chainmail Mantle Collar ⚔️

My chainmail project is FINALLY complete! I started making this is May, and you can see my progress on my chainmail story highlight. I definitely learned a lot making this, and I'll be able to plan future projects better. This was inspired by Falconiere’s Shop on Instagram.

Adding the chains was definitely much easier once I'd bought a mannequin, and I really love the result. The jump rings I got are from Chainmail Joe and I'd definitely recommend! I used a tube clasp at the back and connected it to the rings via smaller rings which was EXTREMELY fiddly but it worked and somehow the small rings are holding the weight of it.

I have a few ideas for future chainmail projects, but I'm gonna take a break before starting another one lol. My overall goal is to make a full armour set with both chainmail pieces and EVA foam armour.

🖤 Inktober 2025 🖤

Here are the first two drawings I did for Inktober this year! I'm not planning a set amount of drawings because I always end up behind, so I'm just using a prompt until I feel ready to move on to something different. I made a list of things I want to draw (mostly spooky things) and cut them up and put them in one of my potion bottles, so my prompts will be selected at random! Which is great, because I am incapable of making decisions. 💀

🔮 Prompt 1: Witch 🔮

I wanted to draw a little scene for this one, and I think it turned out cute! The perspective and proportions are definitely off, but I'd like to practice drawing without references more and put what I've learned through drawing from reference into something pulled from my brain. I used mostly different hues and shades of gray, with the red pop of colour. I know most people do Inktober completely monochromatic, but I like adding a little bit of colour.

🎬 Prompt 2: Showgirl 🎬

Of course I had to draw something Life of a Showgirl related to honour the album's release. My current two favourite songs are Elizabeth Taylor and Father Figure! I'm not gonna go on a long ramble about this album here, but maybe I'll do that in my stories or something lol. The face doesn't really look like her, but it's fine. I wanted to find a way to draw the water, so I used a teal coloured pencil, which is muddied in the graphite-y areas, but I think it looks alright!

🪩 Showgirls 🪩

There are only two days left until The Life of a Showgirl, so here are some drawings of some of my current favourites showgirls in music!

The first two drawings are of the incredible Hayley Williams. The second one started as a col-erase pencil sketch, but I darkened up the lines with a regular coloured pencil.

Next is JADE, who I actually met at an album signing a couple weeks ago! I love That's Showbiz Baby, and it fits the showgirl theme perfectly.

Then we've got Chappell! I'm definitely gonna be drawing a lot of her Visions of Damsels tour outfits for Inktober because every single one of them is incredible.

And of course I drew our lord and saviour Taylor Swift.

I tried editing these photos a bit because usually the photos I take of my sketchbook pages look awful and I don't know how to fix it. Does anyone have any tips for taking pictures of physical art + editing them?

This is my last post before Inktober (which I started today) and I'm not sure how often l’ll be posting that but guess well see 😈

⭐️🐈‍⬛ Cats and Tressyms 🐈‍⬛⭐️

I love cats and I want to get better at drawing them so here's a sketchbook page full of them! I also drew some tressyms (winged cats from D&D and BG3). The one at the top with the halo was one I found on Pinterest and the bottom one is my cat Gem as a tressym!

I also drew a sphinx cat because not only do I love them, but also because it’s really useful to be able to draw hairless cats because it helps you understand the anatomy without the fur covering it up.

My favourite drawing is the one I only drew as a space filler (4th picture), but I really love how it looks!

🪿 Gouache Geese 🪿

I found the reference for this on Pinterest and knew IMMEDIATELY that I had to paint it. I used to do loads of watercolour and gouache, so it was fun to give it a go again. I'd definitely like to paint more, but I have such a long list of other projects I'd like to start that I never really get round to it 😭

🦷 boygenius 🦷

Here's a painting I made for my sister for her 18th birthday! I used a combination of acrylic paints and paint pens.

I tried to base the colour scheme off the record's album cover. Phoebe's face was definitely the easiest and quickest to paint, and the one I'm most proud of, but the other two took a lot of time to get right. I'm still not sure if the likenesses are 100% right though.

⭐️🐸 Colourful Scrawlrbox Animals 🐸⭐️

A little while ago Scrawlrbox had a sale on for some of their previous boxes, and I got a few for a really good price! Here is a page of animals that I made using the supplies of ScawIrbox 110. The prompt was to draw/ paint animals that live in both land and water. The first thing that came to mind was a swan, because I've been wanting to draw/paint one for ages because they're a big thing where I live, plus they're super cool looking! It was kind of difficult to draw white/grey animals when the pens in the box are very vibrant, and I did more colour mixing in the bottom one, but I think it got a bit too muddy and grey.

I'm also very happy with the lil froggy! 🐸

The artist featured in this month's box was cvt.art on Instagram so I tried to take inspiration from their art and added flowers and greenery to the backgrounds of the animals.
