OTP drabble: One Step Closer to Hell

Hell glanced over to his father whose pitch black skin gleamed in the light of the fire flashing through the cracks beneath them. They stood on something resembling newly hardened lava and underneath those souls who had escaped heaven screamed and shrieked. Normally Hell and his father, Devil, lived in their palace built of those bodies whose owners were most infamous in the Devil's domain. Recently, however deaths had increased exponentially, like in every war, the number of souls to join them changed from the normal river of people into an ocean of souls to greet and sort. His father insisted that someone from the Obsidian family greet every group of people who arrived. The Devil liked to think that every soul who came would be greeted by having the "fear of God" put into them, an irony that seemed to amuse his father to no end. 

A new wave of arrivals tumbled down at Hell and Devil's feet looking dazed and confused. Only a few of them remained upright and among those few was a girl whose gaze was clear and very aware. Strands of black to grey ombre hair and bangs framed her bright green eyes. She glanced down at her badly ripped tank top and sighed in resignation. When she lifted her gaze again she found herself looking straight into amber eyes. The red and black specks that circled his pupils were mesmerizing, seeming to move on their own accord. As his own gaze moved towards her, she immediately shifted her gaze to the blackness beyond him. Suddenly a voice from behind her shot clear through her thoughts.

"I'm Hell, welcome. The rest of your group has already started the tour..."

"Hell?" she replied, "How are YOU hell? Isn't it a place, is that where we are..."

She trailed off as he walked around her to take the lead. As he passed by she felt a warm jacket fall around her shoulders. Confused, the girl looked at the amber-eyed man's back as he walked away. Hell glanced back and when he saw her still standing in the same spot, he beckoned her towards him. Pulling the leather jacket around herself more securely, she ran to catch up.

A/N: Hey this is wren-lee everyone!! So this is the first meeting of our Hell OTP ^.^ (I was fan-girling even as I wrote this (x_x)  and of course there will be more to come, especially as summer comes around... ^.-
