Chazz paused in his pursuit at that. Closing his eyes he shook his head solemnly, “This isn’t the way to win.” he sighed. His eyes snapped open and he glared at Ryo, “Have you lost all sense of self-respect?” he laughed harshly and without humor, “What am I saying? Of course you have! Otherwise you wouldn’t be lowering yourself to this.”

He noticed that the other had stopped, this didn't slow him down. Actually it made it better for Ryo to get away from him and his rambling. "I'm finished with you. I don't care how I have to do it, but I will win." Those were the last words he said before walking off inside the building. Once he was inside he was alone for a second. He started thinking about ways he could get rid of Chazz.

Chazz grit his teeth at the brush off but continued to follow him. “Yeah people change, people also go through dark phases.” There was no way in hell he was giving up that easily. “And someday when you get over this stint and stop acting like an angry, reckless, heartless, jackass who’s letting one little duel ruin their life, you’re really going to regret and hate yourself for all this.”

He just wouldn't give up and he was getting close to his destination. Should he just let Chazz follow him in and let the people watching deal with him, do it himself, or avoid letting him know where it was exactly he was going. "I'm not going to change, I finally realized what I was supposed to be doing. There's no way I would go back to the former me. I act this way because I want to win, respect isn't going to help me." He saw the entrance insight and decided to just deal with Chazz himself he he decided to follow him.

Chazz stepped away from the building and resumed following Ryo, “How you are?” he said incredulously, “This is not who you are, participating in underground duels where the sadistic torture of the duelists is more entertainment than the actual duel. You are Ryo Marufuji, you were the top ranked duelist at Duel Academy, you respected your opponents, and more importantly, they respected you.” he ran up and blocked Ryo’s path, “You are better than this.”

Ryo glared at him and let out a laugh. "You have no idea who I am. You saw what I put out there. People change." It was so unlike him to stand up for someone that he didn't even care about. "Don't tell me what you think I am." He pushed past him, unfazed by the words that he was telling him. It didn't matter if he was the top, he lost against Edo and it made him furious. It wasn't something that he could put up with. Turning to the underground duels was the only thing that he could do for himself.

Chazz braced himself as Ryo stalked over to him, he couldn’t say he was surprised to find himself suddenly pinned against a wall, though he still couldn’t help wincing slightly at the impact. “Well that’s just too damn bad cause I’ve got loads of time.” he smirked and knocked Ryo’s hand away, “And if pissing you off is what it takes to snap you out of this little downward spiral of yours then so be it.”

When his hand was knocked away he let out a frustrated sigh and started walking off again. Leaving Chazz behind at the building. "Getting me upset isn't going to change how I am. When are you going to realize that I'm not going to 'snap' out of this?" Ryo couldn't return to all of the people he considered friends in the past. Maybe if he just ignored him he would take a hint and leave him alone.

Chazz could tell he’d hit a nerve. “Yeah yeah yeah you don’t care, keep telling yourself that, maybe eventually you’ll believe it.” he sneered. “Too bad you don’t care about Atticus anymore cause Atticus cares about you.” he said casually, “And you might as well give up on the whole me getting lost thing cause I’m not going anywhere till I knock some sense into that thick stoic skull of yours.”

"He can care all he wants." Ryo stopped and looked back at him. "You're not changing how I think." He slowly walked over to the younger boy, once close enough he grabbed his shirt by the collar and pushed him up against the closest ubilding. "I don't have time for you. You're really starting to piss me off." He didn't have anything fancy to say, he just wanted the other to leave him alone. He's done this countless times before and nobody had tried to stop him. Why try now?

Chazz continued to tail him, “Really now? You don’t care about your brother? The little brother you loved so much you sacrificed yourself for him? Hmm… interesting. Well there must be someone you still care about, after all you’re not that far gone…” he mused. And then suddenly the name came to him. Of course. “So if you don’t care about them anymore, what about Atticus?” Chazz smirked. “He was always the one person you regularly show any sort of emotion for.”

Soft spot. Of course he would bring him up. "I've cut my ties with him. I already told you I don't care about any of them anymore." It was partially true. The two had their duel and Atticus lost. He left him there and hasn't looked back. "I couldn't care less about them now. They're all behind me." He's moved on, he doesn't need them. The only thing that he needs now are the duels that he's been partaking in. "You can go back and tell them all that too. Get lost."

Chazz just shrugged, his arms crossed across his chest. “I haven’t decided if it matters to me yet.” he said nonchalantly, “But it matters to Jaden, and oh yeah, what’s his name? Syrus. Remember him? Your little brother? Now I’m not particularly fond of tracking you down and hanging out in alleys but I’ll do it if it’ll stop those two from moping around.” his voice had gained a hard edge by now. He followed at his own pace, keeping about a yard between them. “And who are you calling a kid? I’m not that much younger than you!” he sneered.

"I don't care about them anymore." He didn't want to deal with this, not today, not ever. If anything there was one person he still cared about but that wasn't going to be revealed anytime soon. "You can just stop what you're doing now and leave. I'm not going to stop because two people are moping around." He had his own hateful look on his face even though Chazz couldn't see it. "It doesn't matter how old you are, you still act like you belong in grade school. Just go." It was harsh, but he was trying to get his point across.

Chazz stepped out of the ally he’d been standing in for the past ten minutes when he saw Ryo finally come out of hiding. He followed him down the dark street for a short ways, trying to keep to the shadows. Apparently he hadn’t done a very good job of that. He sighed and stepped out into the open, there was no point in hiding now that he’d been spotted, “And what? Leave you to just keep throwing your life and talent away in some low-rent warehouse? Not likely.”

The only good thing that happened was that Chazz didn't try and pretend like wasn't there. Other than that, what else could go wrong? He just wanted to go. He wasn't asking for someone to intervene. "It shouldn't matter to you. Now go." It was a harsh command that he pushed upon the other. Even if it wasn't going to work, he was going to do everything he could to try and ignore him and still go to his destination. The only thing he stated as he was walking off was, "This isn't a place for kids like you to be playing."

He didn't know what time it was, nor did he care. All that mattered was that it was dark and about time for him to return to the one spot where he felt like he belonged. The underground duels. It was the only place where he felt like he fit in anymore and there wasn't going to be anyone to stop him from returning there. With a swift movement he pulled on his jacket and headed outside. It was dark enough to only be lit up by the few store lights and the lights the lined the streets.

A silhouette caught his attention as he was walking away. Whoever it was they couldn't stop him. He didn't want this, he needed this. He craved the competition. This was the only way he knew of to make himself a better duelist after his loss. "Whoever is out there hiding you might as well just leave now."
