Haven’t posted on here for a while as been trying to set up my new business. I’ve always had a passion for baking & trying out a new tearoom, coffee shops and bakeries. My late Nanny Audrey was a Cornish lady. She was a keen baker and I have lots of lovely memories of her baking her Apple cake, Rock cakes and Cornish pasties. I think it’s fair to say she’s passed this down to me. There is a limit though to how much cake and biscuits you can bake and eat. I have some good friends that are always willing to try out new bakes. Over the last year I’ve been baking for Frasers Tearoom, Battlesbridge, Essex. Experimenting with old and new recipes. It’s been great hearing the customers lovely feedback on my bakes and their suggestions on what they’d like to try next. I’ve researched and researched how to bake the perfect light scone. One that doesn’t leave that scratchy feel behind your teeth and scones that raise well even if they are a bit wonky. It’s that homemade taste and look I’m trying to create.... and I’ve mastered it now. More recently I joined a class to learn how to make beautiful handmade biscuits. So Chloe starts school this September. Frightening how fast time flies. I listen to other Mums telling me it’s always so hard to juggle being a Mummy, school run and earning a few pennies. So Blossom, Bakery and Handmade biscuits is my new business. I’ll be able to work from home around Chloe and will supply other businesses and the public with a variety of home baked Traditional 3 tiered cakes, scones, tray bakes and Handmade biscuits. Traditional three tiered cakes such as Coffee & Walnut, Cherry bake well, the classic Victoria sandwich just to name a few. There’s tons more on the menu. Scones are also on list. Everything from your savoury Cheese & Chive to Date & Apricot, Cherry bakewell and classic fruit and Plain scones. Handmade biscuits can be made to order for Baby showers, birthday parties, Mother’s Day, weddings, just pretty much any occasion really. Boxed or individually wrapped as gifts. So please watch this space. We are currently working on our logo, instagram and Facebook page and will eventually have our own website. Will keep you all posted. Exciting times.
