which one
I am not addicted to working, per se.
I'm just addicted to music.
That's why I can't stop working at the music venue where I work, even when people get drunk and spill drinks on me and laugh about it.
I can't wait until March because I'm going to be working so many shows.
Yay! <3
miike snow! electric factory! philadelphia! APRIL 27th!
So I am apparently on the guest list of this joint, BUT, in case I want to invite a friend who may not be, I biked my life away to Electric Factory from work (broad + walnut) in the middle of work to get another copy of the ticket. LOL. It's gonna be so RAAAD... I'm so happy about this because there are not that many shows in this tour (esp on the east coast) and Philly gets one! woohoo. Happy to ya, everyone.

Yep... It was a beautiful thing.

Last night was unbelievable.

Villanelle poem
I just remembered I wrote this villanelle-style poem earlier this year when my boy was having trouble writing his own for his poetry class. Villanelle is an interesting style for a poem, yet quite limiting because of the patterns you have to follow. If you get what I'm talking about... good job.

I can tell they are not real. I took a peek up and down, left and right, I wonder, what is the deal? Gingerly I asked, can I take some time to feel, Miniature this morning, colossal tonight. I can tell they are not real. You’ve been avoiding the daily meal, How do they keep their might? I wonder, what is the deal? How long did it take to heal? I’m sure that was some ugly sight. I can tell they are not real. Costing a pound, what a steal. Still never for me! That’s my plight I wonder, what is the deal? What came out of you was a squeal When I asked, can I take a bite: I can tell they are not real. I wonder, what is the deal?
Unicorn Kid. The covers are sooo cute.. I wish he'd continue making his covers all looking like this.
Anyway, I've been listening to so much chiptune music.. & now I want to go back to old days when I was playing maddd vidiya games.
I was trying to add some new music to my iTunes from my music folder and I accidentally highlighted all the folders and pressed 'enter'... or something.
I was having a panic attack as I witnessed some 2000+ folders opening...
one.
by.
one.
I seriously freaked out and quickly turned off my macbook by pressing the power button...
Then I pressed the power button again and it looked like it was starting back up as it normally does...
Then those fucking folders started popping up again!!!
I spent the next few minutes cringing at the sight of it, and once it stopped I started doing 'command+w' the shit out of the keyboard.
Ugh... I'm going to have a nightmare about this...
tegan & sara.
I was listening to them this morning and I thought about how I came to start listening to them. It was that boy, Jon, in freshman year of college. We hung out for the first two weeks of school, doing all the cute 18-yr old shit. And... he introduced me to some great music, including tegan & sara since their then-new album, The Con, had just come out.
I was so hooked to tegan & sara. I listened to it everyday for weeks with or without him. Then he drifted away from me and I was like wtf? but oh well, thanks for the musiq.
Anyway... yeah. this ain't no nostalgia. Just a thought. Anyway, if you are not in college yet, or have yet to live in a co-op or some sort, I highly recommend it. Live with a bunch of people and you get to learn so much more about some things in life that you have yet to discover. Coming out of college, I learned a load of bs and some useful things, but music discoveries through friends have been the one of the best parts about it. and of course, friends. :)
i kid you not
I was at Produce Junction this morning buying apples and grapes, you know, get that vitamin and shit and then the lady in front of me in line asked the cashier, "do you have a chocolate dutch?"
oh silly people
the wonder years..
I think one half of me died during the show last night dealing with all the young'n's that came to the show. The music was tolerable, but people were just.. mmmmmmMMMMMMMMMM ughhhhh. yeah, well some of them any way.
It looked like people were having mad fun though, and the bands had dedicated fans, so that's good? I didn't realize so many high school boys and gals could do all the things that they did last night. lol. I guess I forgot what it's like to be a high schooler. I forgot. I have forgotten. But I'm not old! Psh...
After the show I went to a local show/party in West Philly to soothe my brain and mind after 7 hours of pop punk. There were some awesome gigs at that house, including experimental cello music and a singer-songwriter gig, and I'm really glad I made it. Mad decent!
Anyway, I really wanted to check out the war on drugs tonight but I have to work somewhere else so I guess I will miss them this time around.

DiPLO.
So excited about him playing on the 29th because I'm going to be working and I'll probably just be chilling in the backstage area, like I did the other night.
It's going to be one crazy night.
