@hells-metro-maps
I finally got around to finishing this. (Only took like 2 years) I think I did a decent job shifting the colours and the metallic pens catch the light really well. Some i drew this on onion skin over a grid, it lacks the grid lines that my other drawings have from drawing directly on the grid paper. This also means the paper is more transparent allowing it to be backlit better. However the onion skin did have its drawbacks. It shifted on the grid paper below so keeping perfect symmetry proved more difficult and there was many a line that does match its twin on the other side. It also shows the whiteout I used a few times very obviously when backlit. The onion skin also doesn’t soak on the ink as quickly so it took longer for each line to dry and this resulted in more smudging. But it should look cool and confuse people on how I drew it with no obvious gridlines showing. I don’t think the smudges and mistakes are obvious. Now just to frame it.
So I went about framing this up. Cut out a mat board only needing to fold a bit off the top because this is not a standard size and I don’t want to go get a bigger frame. Well I got the mat cut, centred, and ready to put in the frame. Then I realized my frame was too small. Turns out, and this shouldn’t be shocking info, a standard picture frame size is for 8”x10” pictures. Not 8.5”x11” paper. Which is what I cut the mat out of. Guess I need to make another trip to value village and see if they have any bigger frames then.

New metro map. Trying something new. Drawing it on onion skin over a sheet of grid paper. This way there won’t be a grid shown on the final piece.
Progress update. I’ve started working in some silver and a lighter red into this.
I also feel like there some sort of eldritch deity within these lines. Probably demanding some sort of sacrifice and giving utter madness in return.
Update. It continues to climb.
After not working on this for months (years?) I filled in some more of it.
Tried to get a video that better shows the metallic ink. Not sure I was successful in showing off the effect. But it looks cool anyways.
I finally got around to finishing this doodle? Line art? Madness? After having it taped to my wall for months unfinished.
And progression pics below.

It’s been a bit slow at work. So this just sorta happens…🤷♂️
More progress has been made
I’m debating how the next column should be. That be the next one I draw on the left of what’s there. Should I continue with the trend of each column being a new pattern? Or should I try mirroring what I have on the right of the “DNA ladders” column using the DNA column as the axis of reflection.
4 axis symmetry lines, 4”x4”. Traced and cleaned up digitally.

i think ive seen your art before but i just found this blog and i really love the style!!!
Thank you. It seems to really connect with people for some reason. Sometimes in horror, sometimes in fascination. It’s honestly hilarious reading people’s tags and comments about them.
Glad you enjoy them
Decided to frame this doodle. Not sure what to with it. Might give it away. Or just find a spot on my wall to hung it up.

Not exactly metro map-esque. But still kinda strange line art
A bored at work doodle.
It grew a bit more as my boredom went unimpeded. Also a pic with all the edges per @gardening-tea-lesbian request
