– There wasn’t much that had been going on in Elliot’s life recently. Or at least, not anything he wanted anyone to know about. He wanted to maintain the simplicity that he had before his life collapsed. Though, that had happened a while ago… Elliot tried pushed the thought out of his head as he continued to walk home. He was just stuck in his head, things were fine. He was just a kid who was half-wendigo with no family and no real idea where his life was going. He was experiencing so much sensory overload lately as well that when he wasn’t working or eating, he was sleeping. It was easier to just walk straight home from the beach without taking in too many things going on around him. Unless that meant he was slamming right into someone on his walk. He stumbled back a bit, unable to really registering the situation, “god, I uh– sorry. Sorry about that, I’m really–” Elliot’s mind finally started working and when he saw the face of the person standing across from him, he didn’t know what to do. “I uh– I– sorry…”

THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT BRIGHT HAVEN that just doesn’t sit right with him lately. he’s not sure if it’s the people or the environment, but every time he goes to leave his apartment, he’s immediately struck with the need to go back inside... and so he has, for nearly a week straight now. today is his first day out in that time, and it’s terribly obvious --- he’s far paler than normal, and the very sun itself seems to have it out for him, shining almost directly into his eyes despite the sunglasses he’s thrown on. in fact, maybe it’s fate itself that has decided he doesn’t deserve to live. a walk down the sidewalk should be fine, but adrien finds himself run into despite his attempts to avoid the situation --- and it’s just as bad as he remembers it. though the impact isn’t enough to knock him down, he falls back all the same, scrambling backwards a good yard as the burning sensation begins. doctors and therapists alike have told him it’s all in his head, but that doesn’t make it any easier to bear. the sleeves of his sweater, worn despite the heat, are pulled down over his hands, and both run up and down his arms as though that could rid him of the lingering sense of contact. “ please don’t--- don’t t-touch me, i’m--- m’sorry, i--- it’s--- it’s ok-kay--- ” though it’s quite obviously not alright, given his reaction, he’s trying his best not to let the other know just how panicked he is.

Sighing gently, he sat down at Adrien’s feet (or a while’s off away from him, making no effort to move any closer). “Alright, alright,” he murmured, raising both his hands up. “I can’t make you do anything you don’t want. And if it makes you feel uncomfortable, then we don’t have to go. I just want to make sure you’re okay is all. I’d be doing a poor job as a doctor if I let you get an infection, but again, it’s your decision,” he said calmly.
“…Get into a lot of… bad instances where you get hurt?” Alexei asked softly, tilting his head as he watched Adrien worked. It was true, the younger man was clearly practiced in doing this, though that wasn’t entirely reassuring to the angel.
AT LEAST HE’S LUCKY in that alexei seems to accept it and move on. it’s understandable that the doctor, being a doctor, feels the need to make sure he’ll be alright, but this isn’t anything new for him. if only it was, things might be different for him.
the question makes him freeze, and he glances around as though someone might be there listening. his grandparents might be dead, but that doesn’t make him feel any safer. “ yeah, um--- i used to... fall d-down stairs a lot, or... run into doors, or cut myself by accident... ” it sounds like a load of crap even now, but he’s just saying what he’s always been told to.

Andi looked at the boy, slightly confused. Her cheeks were turning pink. The last time she had received a compliment like that was back in college at parties laced with alcohol when all girls or guys alike wanted to do were get in her pants. She shrugs and scribbles something down on an already ruined past page in her book, an email, before she holds it out. “Sure, as long as you send me the picture if it’s good,” she smiles.
CHEEKS DARKEN FURTHER, a nervous smile appearing on his features. “ y-yeah, um--- okay. i can do that. ” he takes the torn page carefully, his hand as far from hers as possible, and looks over the email. “ can i... keep this? you have drawings on it... ” he’s not sure if they’re important to her or not, but he doesn’t want to risk taking them without her explicit permission.

The surgeon nods, though he doesn’t like the way how… uncomfortable Adrien looks, especially with the other just clutching at his wound like… he was more concerned about hiding it rather than it actually hurting. Alexei tilted his head to the side before shaking his head. “…Could I at least make sure, or something? I don’t want to just let you go and risk the chance of infection,” he said softly. Despite the small glimmer of eye contact, the blonde returns the smile warmly. “It’s not a problem. It’s my job, after all.”
“Yes, that’s fine. Just try to contaminate yourself,” he said warmly as he set the material down in between the two, allowing Adrien to grab the things necessary for the wound when he wanted. “You’ll want to use that wipe in the package first to clean up the area, then some of the cream with the Q-tips, and then the bandage,” Alexei remarked, finding it hard to not be helpful. This was his job, after all.
IT’S DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN, especially when alexei is still practically a stranger to him. still, he presses harder against the wound, hiding the flash of pain across his features a moment after it appears. “ i don’t, um... i don’t like hospitals. they make me feel, uh--- беспокоиться, the bad feeling. ” while anxiety is something he’s used to, he’d still rather not put himself in a situation where he’s certain to feel it.
a small nod is given before he sets the bloodstained cloth aside and reaches for the materials. the packaging of the wipe is ripped open with practised ease --- he’s had to clean up his own injuries more times than he could count. “ i’ve, um--- d-done this before. cleaned up, i mean. a lot. m’used to it. ”

“Jesus Christ! You’re lucky my damn insta-kill is on chill right now… the hell you doing sneaking up on me like that, huh?” Sabre all but yelled, his voice hoarse and cracking with the effort of trying to salvage some semblance of composure.
BROWS FURROW, confusion colouring his gaze. “ your... insta-kill... is on... chill? what does that mean? ” he hadn’t meant to startle the stranger, but sometimes accidents are hard to avoid. adrien is a quiet person by nature, both in terms of speaking volume and the noise he makes --- such a thing would be difficult to change.
i’m super tired but i’m writing this now anyway: although adrien is pretty much shit-scared constantly, he doesn’t really get more scared. it’s a baseline of nervousness. having been told he’s pretty much a monster his whole life, he’s only just now starting to see himself as normal, but that “normality” still coincides with “monstrousness” in his head, so he sees being monstrous as normal. though he doesn’t see himself as beautiful, he sees pretty much everyone else in the world as such. doesn’t matter what species they are or what they look like --- he can find the beauty in everything.
also, don’t let him take photos of dead people. he’ll do that. please, someone teach him right from wrong.
adrien does not leave home without his camera. he goes everywhere with it. it’s his security blanket. if you touch his camera without permission, he will most likely panic and (accidentally) hurt you.
Nightwish | Moondance
Andi was sitting outside The Human Canvas. She had her sketchpad in her hand, and was enjoying the setting sun before curfew kicked in. She always found that she worked best outside, right as the moon was about to hit the sky. She was always at peace with her sketchpad, and she was working on a tattoo sketch for a client coming back in a few days when she noticed someone staring. “Can I help you?” she asked, only briefly looking up from the sketchpad.
THOUGH THE DAY IS NICE, his attention is caught by something other than the environment. he doesn't mean to, but he finds himself staring at a stranger sitting outdoors, fingers instinctively clutching his camera strap. far from subtle, he's not surprised she noticed him watching, but his head ducks, an embarrassed flush darkening his cheeks. “ прости, i--- you're... really pretty. ” gaze shifts again, though it still doesn't find hers; rather, it's directed towards the ground beneath her shoes. “ is it okay if i, um--- if i take a picture? of you? i, um--- take pictures. for work. ”
well I only slept three and a half hours last night but im here and mostly alive + also i'm finally replying to starters xoxo
“And stop shedding hair or fur or whatever all over the grass!”

he squinted at the figure right in front of him. he could make out the shape of the person but he couldn’t quite figure out who it was. perhaps he has had too many drinks that his head was spinning. “what are you saying?” he almost whispered those words out as he leaned in closer to look at the person in front of him. “you meant you want to take care of me? aren’t you scared that i’m going to eat you up?”
IT TAKES MORE WILLPOWER than he thought he had to remain in place as the other leans in, though he has to steel himself by clenching his jaw to keep from flinching. “ y-you said you’d--- you’d t-take care of me, if--- if i got drunk, so... i j-just want to help. m’not scared, just--- nervous. kinda always nervous, but it’s ... it’s not because of you. i promise. ” a tentative smile makes itself known, gaze settling steadily on ace’s features for a few moments before it slides back down to the floor between their feet.
