Eliza walked alongside Clay around the Cresmont as she listened to him speak and smiled, “Well that is very good to hear. It’s nice to have people out there who are like that. You don’t get many of them. You seem like a really good guy Clay..” She smiled squeezing his shoulder for a moment, “As long as you are taking time for yourself as well Clay?” She stated looking at him, “Clay, you are not responsible. You can’t dwell on it now. It won’t bring her back.” She smiled and nodded, “Well thank you, it will nice to have one friend there already.” 

Clay glanced over at the girl for a moment and shook his head before he nodded, “Well I missed out on helping the one person I really cared about because I ignored things. I am not doing that again. Thank you. You seem like a really nice girl.” He smiled looking at her for a moment, was he taking enough time for himself, he didn’t know but he wasn’t going to tell the truth to the girl, “Yeah I have time for myself, don’t you worry about that.” He sighed a little and shook his head, she was right but he couldn’t help but feel broken and lost all the time. “I know I know but it’s hard, I miss her.” He sighed and looked at her, “You can count on that one.”

Eliza put a hand through her hair taking in every word the boy was saying and  nodded, it was a lot to take in but she didn’t mind listening to him. “Oh that sounds harsh. Well that is true, well I am glad you are trying to help others. You didn’t know she wanted you to stay, and you can’t read minds but either way you did the best.” She stated looking at him for a moment, “Of course no worries. Liberty High. Oh yeah that’s the only one, i heard about that.” She laughed a little and nodded, “Well Don’t you worry I’m not.”

Clay glanced over at the girl for a moment and nodded, “I want to be able to help others if it means they are able to get some kind of help and they don’t just think about ending their life. Oh wow that was depressing.” He stated and nodded, “I know but what if I just tried a bit more, what if I hadn’t been so rude to her the next day. So yes we all did something to help Hannah lead to her decision but I could have done something.” He sighed, “Well feel free to hang out with me if you like, don’t feel like you need to be a stranger.” He stated and nodded laughing a little.

Eliza stood there looking over at Clay for a moment before listening to him, and listening to what he was saying and she was in  shock and listened to him even more, “Wait she really left tapes behind? That must have been hard. Clay! This isn’t your fault, she made a choice and you didn’t affect her decision, she was probably thinking t for a while but you were not the reason, if she said you did nothing wrong then you did nothing wrong. No you did what she wanted you to  do, you respected her decision, even if she wished you stayed, she didn’t say it, you respected what she was feeling and what she wanted. That was a true gentleman.” She shook her head and took  hold of his hand, “Don’t be sorry. It’s fine.” She stated trying to reassure him.  “I couldn’t be a boring robot if I tried. Yes Superman, lets get to work”

Clay didn’t want the girl to feel uncomfortable, yes he missed Hannah but he needed to move on, what she did was something he now focused on looking out for the things others were going through so he could try and be there for them. “Yeah she left tapes behind, it was at first but it made me realise that there are a lot of people going through this and they need help and people. Yeah but what if I could have done one thing to make it better, she told me to leave the room but in the tapes she secretly wanted me to stay and I should have. I should have stayed. Yeah you say that, but I can’t help but think about that.” He sighed looking down and nodded, “Well thank you for listening. So what school are you going to? Wait that’s a silly question there’s only one high school in this town.” He sighed looking at the girl for a moment, “Well that’s good to hear, I don’t want to work with a boring robot. Let’s do it.”

Eliza couldn’t help stop in her tracks, this girl Hannah was obviously someone he really cared about and although she wanted to find out what happened, would asking be too much though? She stood there looking at him and shrugged, “Still it’s not something people wanted to go through. I know this is such a bizarre question but do you know how she did it and why she did it?” She asked briefly, it wasn’t that she wanted to be told how she did it, she just wanted to see what was going on in the girls mind maybe. “ Sorry that was a bit of a question I shouldn’t be asking.” She stated a little looking towards the girl for a moment, “Yes I have a sense of humor, now wouldn’t I? Did you think I was a boring robot?  Okay sounds good Superman.” She smiled over at him

Clay was sure talking about Hannah wasn’t going to help him move on, but it was nice knowing this girl actually cared, not many people did in this town, it was like as soon as the tapes had gone, everyone returned to what they once were apart from Justin. He nodded, “That is very true. Oh right, Well She slit her wrists, after getting into a running bath tub in clothes. It really isnt the best thing. She also left behind tapes before she did that to let everyone who played a part in the reason why she died to get them to listen to what they had done, or how they effected her choice. Even I was one of them but she did say it wasn’t something I had done but I could have done one thing better, she told me to leave the room after a while after we were making out and I should have realized something was wrong and stayed there and helped her.” He looked over at her realizing he had been getting emotional, “Sorry. And no it’s fine.” He stated quietly before hearing her words and he laughed slightly, “Right well it’s nice to know you do. “Not a boring robot. I promise. Superman?”

Eliza wasn’t even sure how to react at the current moment, she was stuck, she only applied for the ob because her parents were pressuring her.  She didn’t know what o do but she really didn’t want to Pry on this guy Clay. Sh listened to him talk, she honestly had no clue what to say, he had obviously gone through a lot and has been hurt and she knew there wasn’t much she could do to fix it for him. “Oh I am so sorry,  I didn’t know. I am very sorry, that’s just really hard to understand. So she committed suicide?” She sighed a little and nodded, “Where are we going first Captain?” She asked as they walked towards the kiosk.

Clay stood there glancing over at the girl, his mind was still on Hannah for a moment that he needed to take his mind off her for a moment. He soon looked around before he realised he had to show this girl round the area but maybe she could become a friend and he would make sure to be different o her then he was with Hannah. He nodded at her statement, “Don’t be sorry, it’s not your problem. Yeah she did.” He said quietly it wasn’t something he was easy to open up about. Hearing her question he smiled before laughing, “So you have a sense of humor? I like it. Well we’re heading to the drinks and popcorn area.”

Eliza wasn’t sure how to feel anymore, see honestly knew that she needed a job but the theatre didn’t seem much fun right now but she needed the job, she needed the money either way and it was the only way she was going to earn a little bit more . She soon heard his voice and she soon relaxed a little but  hearing his words stung a little but she understood. “Right, who am I replacing? And what happened? Did you two break up or something? Because you know you can still tell her how you feel.” She stated probably saying the wrong things and she soon sighed. Placing a hand through her hair she looked at him “Let’s get started instead of standing here like Lemon’s.”

Clay could try and hide from the guilt he felt, he was meant to be learning from what Hannah did to help the others and not judge people or be rude. He knew he needed to at least try to help the girl out and get to know the theatre where she was going to be working at for how ever long she was going to be there. “Oh right, the girls name was Hannah Baker she used to work here. She quit, but she also quit life too. We didn’t break up, we weren’t even together so it wouldn’t be possible. She was just a very good friend.” He stated, he felt bad for landing all this on the girl. “Right yeah lets go. Follow me.” He stated before walking towards the kiosk where all the food was to teach her how to use it.

Although this wasn’t the best job, it was a job and she didn’t really mind it because she always knew she would be on that stage one day, she would be the one performing on a film or stage but she knew the Cresmont was only a cinema theatre. She looked over at the guy who was going to help her learn how to work and he didn’t really look enthusiastic about wanting to help her. She sighed looking at him, “Hi Clay. Thanks. Look I am sure if you ask them nicely you can get someone else to help me, because you really don’t look like you want to help me.” 

Clay stood there in the theatre, a few months ago he was there with Hannah Baker the girl he was in love with and now he was helping her replacement. It was like he whole theatre had forgotten Hannah had existed. He knew he should be helpful and he knew there was things he shouldn’t do, especially after the tapes that he was on, he had to prevent someone else from doing what Hannah did. He looked at her and raised his eyebrows, “Huh? Oh no, sorry Eliza, I didnt mean that, just, there’s things going on and i mean the person who you’re replacing, was someone i loved. Sorry I didn’t mean to sound rude.” He bit his lip, “So shall we get started?”

When Eliza moved to the town, she decided she needed a job so she applied for a job at the Cresmont, she always wanted to work in theatre either on the stage or behind the scenes. It was something she had always aspired so as she found out she got a job at the cresmont she was happy. As she walked into work for the first time, she smiled over at her manager who assigned her to a guy named Clay as of he was showing her what to do. She smiled looking over at the guy, “Hi I’m Eliza.” 

Clay was at work and he was told he was training Hannah’s replacement, like she had trained him and honestly, did he ant to train her? Did he want to work with someone else, in all honesty he had missed Hannah for far too long yet it had been about four weeks since she died and he had listened to those damned tapes and kept replaying the moments in his head. As the new girl walked over to him he put a smile on his face, maybe this time he could actually make a better friend with her then he did with Hannah. He smiled again and nodded, “Hey Eliza, I’m Clay, Welcome to the Cresmont.”
