Niall Kennedy…I guess he has surrendered to the toxic masculinity at the age of 15. He surrendered to Ruben, to Gus, to any other bullies, to the whole world... From the very beginning his heart was a massive blackhole that swallowed any hope and brightness from past, presence and future. And only Ruben figured it out on ep2, but he wasn't sober and forgot everything about it (he only admitted that). I think Niall's "real soul" died at the age of 15. Any possibilities of him to have a healthy future died at the same time...

So what about Ruben ? Even worse. I guess his real soul died at the age of 8, the night his father survived from heart attack...

What about the ring？

In ep2 we have the knife from Niall's father (apparently a Chekhov's knife).So what about Ruben's ring in ep1? I guess it might belong to one of Ruben's parents (I prefer the mother). I don't think it's a wedding ring of Mona. She and Ruben (both grown-up version) were together in trailer, but they might not get married. And the ring's size was too big, even bigger than Ruben's thumb🤔

For Niall, the knife means "a way out". So for Ruben, what does the ring mean? A cage? A prison(which imprisoned some parts of Ruben)? A kind of bond? I really want to know. I hope ep3 can solve most of puzzles (waiting is so torturing)
