So...lets kill another obstacle to Barbi's goals...

"Im awful manly..."

Well that is a problem. How do we fix it??

Theres lots to cover here (pun intended). But there are a lot of subtle things that you can do over time that will create the gurl you wish to be. Subtlety is key if you're a secret gurl. If not, then speed up the process...

The feminine illusion has many parts. Body shape, body appearance facial look, mannerisms, etc.

For reshaping the body...first get fit. Exercise for a slim physique. There are many available bras, breastforms, silicone pads/enhancers etc available to give you the chest that announces you as a woman. Your hips can be treated much the same, with many pads and inserts available to feminize your backside. Waist training with cinchers will help develop your hourglass shape, and wearing corsets is a fantastic way to display your feminine curves.

Your bodys appearance, besides its shape, is a matter of skin care. And shaving. Everyone has their own fav methods, but being hair free is a must for the illusion. From ears to ankles is optimum. Trim/thin out your arm hair too, finding a balance thats manly by day but wont diminish your femme illusion at night. Exfoliating and moisturizing your whole body is important too, as healthy glowing skin is a femme attribute to shoot for.

Your facial "look" is a huge part of the overall!! Makeup and related beauty is a million pages of info, so do research, watch videos, and PRACTICE!! Ive found that taking a selfie, and then running it through a makeup photo app will let you experiment on different looks and can help you find what works best for you. Then replicate it. Women make it look easy, but theyve been doing it everyday their whole life. Its NOT easy!!! Trust me, I still struggle mightily with it!! But dont get discouraged!! Practice...and remember that less is usually more here. Finding other gurls, local makeover services, etc are a great help as well!!

Mannerisms and how you carry yourself is another realm where practice is key. Walking like a woman, and doing it in heels is another time consuming effort thats mandatory. Nothing bursts the femme bubble faster than a gurl that walks like a macho man!!! Small, short delicate steps keep you looking girly and accentuate that "sway"... Again, videos and tutorials are a great resource. Other small nuances include the weak wrist, the coy smile, flinging your hair (wig?), keeping your knees together, the wink, crossing your legs, and a ton of other delicate motions... Watch cis women and observe these things and how theyre done. While we see these things done every day, we have to really disect them in order to copy them.

Ok, how to deal with being a secret or closeted gurl?? Actually thats gonna be a post or three all by itself. Theres a lot of material there I want to get it all... Stay tuned!!

So, First: "Im broke"...

Well we all wish there was less month left over at the end of the money. But there are lots of options to fill out your gurl wardrobe on the cheap. A big thing here is to budget some $$$ EVERY payday for a lil somthin. A key here is, always do it. Be consistent. If you want a more expensive item. Save for it. Put the weekly money aside. But, DO NOT tell yourself "I can't afford it." You can. Goodwill and similar thrift shops are good sources. Network with local gurls for other good places. Online shops are often inexpensive, and less stressful. Amazon and eBay are full of deals. A fav site of mine is lingeriediva.com but even Wish is great too!! Dont forget to pay attention to sales and closeouts!! Another key is to think long term. Even if you spend $20 a week, you realize how much gurl stuff youd have after you spent over a thousand dollars your first year?? As long as youre reasonably thrifty, you could have a closet full of lingerie, outfits, heels etc, plus a well stocked makeup bag!!!

So Barbi, be patient, be thrifty, and spend consistently!!! Youll soon have all you need to reach your gurly goals!!!

So...Barbi, our fictional aspiring gurl, made a goal. Now lets turn it into mini goals, or tasks...

First, she wants to be a passable CD. How?

A) Buy lingerie, outfits, shoes etc.*

1)Online shopping

2) In store purchases

B) Buy makeup, wigs, etc...*

C) Get makeup assistance.. From:

1) other gurls

2) women, gf, family if possible

3) online videos

4) makeover services*

D) Practice!! It takes time to feminize to a passable degree, from makeup to walking in heels, etc, so this will require an investment of lots of time!!

* none of this is cheap. Having a gurl wardrobe costs money. So the shopping can/should be broken down into even smaller chunks depending on your budget. The key here is to follow through. Even if its $20 a week, always buy somthing you need!!!

Next, she wants to go out. But its not that simple, so....

A) Find local gurl-friendly places.

B) Find other local gurls to go with.

1) Online sites like FetLife

2) Network!! One gurlfriend can lead to many more...

She also wants to be sexually explorative...

A) This requires a bit of relationship development. Again online sites are a great place to start. (Insert typical safety warnings here...)

B) Again, network!!

C) Self exploration- By learning more about your desires and exploring them before doing so with others will give you a better understanding of what you want, what you dont want, and when that first moment comes, it wont be full of suprises...

So far weve just taken a seemingly simple goal and briken it down into over a dozen separate actions, which could/should be broken down even further. And then, we need to apply a timeline to each, so that there's always progress happening. Set them realistically, but dont give too much time. Keep pushing yourself to get things accomplished!! And reward yourself for "on-time, underbudget"!!!

So while this is just a quickie post to show how goals and steps towards them can be broken down, theres much more to it of course. We will revisit this, adding the challenges, and remedys in the future...

What you want-Pt 2...

So, in taking my previous thoughts a bit further....

Generals dont go into battle without a plan. And backup plans... So as a gurl, you shouldnt either. We talked about setting goals. Now, we have to break those goals into manageable chunks, so they can be met. We set our ultimate dream goals WITHOUT any thoughts about the obstacles. This is where we address the challenges we face in reaching our goals. This might sound over-the-top to you, but it works, and will avoid missteps and flailing randomly without progress... So for every gurl that isnt already "living the dream" already, get out your laptop, phone, pen n paper, or whatever, and start creating a course of action. Of course, secret gurls should have a place to hide your battle plan, and thatll be addressed in a post soon, too!!! Im going to create a fictional example to show how much help this can be....stay tuned gurls!!!

As a gurl, what do you want....????

I decided this would be the next topic, as its soooo important, especially for new(er) gurls. In hundreds of convos, Ive had guys, say they want to become gurls. Terrific. But when I ask for more specifics, its tough or impossible to get good answers. Heres the problem. Just like in life, many of us never set goals. Much of my life I didnt. But, I learned they are very important. Its hard to attain somthing if you havent defined "it". Any endeavour worth undertaking takes time, effort, and planning. So as an aspiring gurl, you have to first define what your hoped for "end result" is... I often suggest that you can find that in your FAVORITE DAYDREAMS N FANTASIES. Yes. Seriously!!! Ignore all realities and challenges for the moment. What is your ultimate gurl dream?? Full transition? A passable fulltime CD? Maybe its dressing and meeting other gurls and going out. Maybe meeting men or other gurls en femme for adult activities, maybe exploring a bicuriosity. Maybe just sharing your secret a bit to "un-closet" a bit... Whatever it is, write it down!!! It might seem silly, but do it, even if it seems unattainable right now. This is where you want to be someday!!! Take those dreams seriously!! And dont be vague, or lie to yourself. Its not a one sentence answer either, more like a big paragraph... Now we just have to formulate a plan to make it happen, but thats another post for another day!!

This is the first step for you, regardless of what your goal is, or where you stand now. From the 20yr old who discovered excitement wearing his sisters panties and wants to take it much further, to the 49yr old whos always secretly felt more feminine on the inside and finally is at a place in life to change the outside. Whether spiritual or sensual, a hoped for permanent change, or just when youre "in the mood", it doesnt matter. Write down your dream outcome and keep it handy. Youre going to need to look at it often.

Now heres the thing... As you work towards your gurly goal, it may change. Yup. Thats ok. Be aware that gurldom and femininity will change how you see things, and as such, your wants and needs may change as well. Mine did!! But thats ok. Go with it!! (Now, this isnt somthing that happens daily or weekly, but over months n years. So dont write your goals in pencil so they can be changed tuesday LOL... ) Personal evolution is a good thing unless you let outside influences affect it. This is all about you gurl, and what you want!!!

So aspiring ladies, new and old... Define your wants and needs. DO NOT let any preconception about the odds of getting what you want alter your goals. We can all have what we want. But its much easier to get there when we know EXACTLY what that is!!!

Next time, we're going to take that goal, and start breaking it up into manageable pieces, and get you headed down the path!!!

Gurl Community Infighting...

A point that came to mind during some discussions in the "Labels" post that needs a separate mention... I think there are two major groups in the gurl world. Those that crossdress with a sexual/fetish basis and those that are on a potentially more spiritual "inner woman" journey. Ive heard a lot of clashing between them, with the "reality" of each groups wants and needs being questioned. That needs to STOP!!! Im going to go out on a limb again with a potentially unpopular statement...(I think this is gonna happen a lot LOL...) We are all part of a larger group..."mtf" or "gurls" or whatever. We ALL go thru so many challenges to do what makes us happy...from emotional issues: self-doubt, insecurity, regret, etc, to secrecy or "closeting", to larger social issues of fitting in, and of course the labeling debacle... What we need to remember is that at some level...we are ALL chasing femininity and whatever rewards it holds for each of us as individuals. And at that level, we are all equals, and we are all the same. We all have experiences that can be shared and benefit each other across group lines. Even if we can share and help each other with small tips and support, its a good thing. Making friends across those boundaries can only help us all... So rather than picking at each other, lets ALL circle the wagons and become a team!
