I'm currently working on a backstory for one of my Hogwarts Legacy OCs who isn't an Ancient Magic wielder.
I was thinking, what if Ranrok and Rookwood had been searching for potential Ancient Magic wielders years before the events of the game, perhaps when the MC was still around 10 to 12 years old?
The problem is that Ancient Magic doesn't seem to manifest until years later. The MC's abilities remain dormant until they are around fifteen, meaning there would have been no obvious way to identify the future Ancient Magic wielder beforehand.
So, what if Ranrok and Rookwood were hunting down children they believed possessed unusual magical potential? Before the MC's abilities awakened, they probably had no clue who the future Ancient Magic wielder would be. As a result, they could have easily mistaken ordinary but talented young witches and wizards for their target.
In some cases, they might have pursued the wrong child, attacked the wrong family, or even caused some people to be killed while searching for someone who wasn't actually the Ancient Magic wielder at all.
TLDR: What if Ranrok and Rookwood had been looking for the future Ancient Magic wielder long before the events of the game? Since the MC's abilities hadn't awakened yet, could they have targeted the wrong children and attacked wrong families?
I did some digging about his name, and his name seems to be connected to words like "omen," "omnis," or "ominous." All of them trace back to Latin roots with meanings related to signs, fate, or foretelling (omen). Interestingly, the original meaning wasn't necessarily negative at first. It became more associated with darkness or bad fortune over time because of language shifts.
Personally, I think Ominis' name doesn't mean "evil" or "bad omen" directly. I see it more as "a sign" or "a foretold fate," something that can be either good or bad depending on the situation.
And honestly… looking at his story quest, Ominis feels like someone who indirectly "reads" Sebastian Sallow's fate. He repeatedly tries to stop Sebastian from falling deeper into the Dark Arts because he already knows where that path leads.
If you think about it, Ominis isn't the bad omen himself. He's the person who sees the bad omen coming.
Another character sheet! And this time it's Ominis!
For The Magic that Binds Us by @sallowskeeper
This version of him is so unique and so unlike any other, I love him so much!!! And I must say, it's definetly one of my favorite versions out there. Please check her work out!! Available on wattpad and AO3.
Can’t believe it took me 4 months to answer one of these anons, but I guess it worked out, if I’d replied earlier, my answer would’ve been quite different.
This is the MC I created for my upcoming Sebastian x MC x Ominis COMIC (so MC fans, get ready… it’s finally your turn to enjoy the tea too! 😏), a comic where canon events are intertwined with several other storylines I’ve been carrying in my head for over 2 years and hopefully they’ll finally see the light in this project!
The comic story will run in 3 main arcs, one per school year (and trust me, you’ll be counting the days until the 7th year arc for a very good reason 👀)
Happy 3 years to HL!! (And to my crippling HL hyperfixation) I love getting to know all your ocs, so this seems like a perfect way to see everyone’s collages HEHE
A little explanation (if anyone cares HAHA)
An animal that suits their personality:
A fawn. She looks sweet as biscuits and doe eyed but can be deceptive in nature…never judge a book by its cover guys
A colour that fits their vibe:
Lavender!! It’s her fav colour after all, and one of the smells in her amortentia is lavender sooooo
A song that feels like them:
I have a few that I like to use on rotation, currently it’s Headlock by Imogen Heap! Like I’ve listened to it so much that it’s my top song in my Spotify wrapped last year (I think I’ve heard it for 157 times thanks to liya)
Something that their passionate about:
Chinese calligraphy! She finds it relaxing to paint each stroke but hates how she always gets ink stains on her fingers. (Sebastian always teases her about that)
An object important to them:
Sun and moon rings that was gifted from Sebastian on her birthday in her 7th year in Hogwarts! It was later revamped into their wedding rings hehe (I BOUGHT THE PANDORA SUN AND MOON RINGS IRL SO IM MATCHING TOO AND I WEAR THEM EVERYDAY)
A weather that fits their mood:
Rainy weather despite it being sunny. It represents her inner melancholy vs the outwardly cool disposition she tries to portray (we love a performative girly)
The food that they’d offer as their last meal:
Chocolate. Lots of it. Give her a whole tub and she’s satisfied. At least the dopamine from the sugar will make her die happy. (Jk, she has a debilitating fear of death like me so she will never find peace at the mere notion of that)
An outfit they would wear:
No comment, Isssa vibe!! (I would wear that irl)

aurora asp
gray fox: on the surface aurora is clever and secretive, but also can be playful once you get to know her. like the gray fox, she tends to hide in her surroundings, forming strong emotional bonds w/ a select few
green: it's not just slytherin pride- i think the color green can have different interpretations based on shades n stuff (and is just the most beautiful color). for aurora, i like both a nature-esque soft sage, and then a moodier dark emerald
"back to the old house" by the smiths: this is her theme, it just perfectly encapsulates her from the vaguely pensive lyrics to the soft guitar & drums and even morrissey's almost pathetic, depressive voice
books: being an intp personality, aurora loves to read and will get into rabbitholes about specific topics. one of her favorite things about hogwarts is the library- she's never had access to so much knowledge before
luna the black cat: i like to think that luna (not an object btw) and aurora stumbled into each other that first time she went to hogsmeade (post-troll fight of course) and have been inseparable ever since. again, she's never gotten to have a pet of her own before the in-game events
thunderstorms: not the quick loud ones i grew up with, but those quiet storms that brew for an hour before crashing down suddenly. i associate this kind of moody weather w/ her since she shoves her emotions down to avoid feeling them, but of course they bubble up to the surface in an uncontrollable outburst
english toffee: girl's got a sweet tooth, what can i say? it's got layers just like her! a little salty from the nuts, a little sweet from the chocolate, and entirely bad for you lol
modern au outfit: for aurora in a non-hogwarts, non-1800s setting, i like to picture her with that cool, edgy, online girl aesthetic. like a highschooler discovering the intersection between punk & grunge and mixing up the two. (used to dress like this a lot tbh, i've got a few different aesthetics going on)
thank you @elkingwriter and @blue-birdie612 for the tag, and also @colettening for making the challenge ❤
I'm tagging (no pressure) @rosierirene, @shiraibambi, @kay9leo and @litteredridngbroomstick
Diana Hartwell
Explanation:
Akhal-Teke (actually, Diana resembles more to Thestral because 1 of thestral's nature is being misjudged creature . but I struggled to search an animal irl that is similar to Thestral 😢): Akhal-Teke in Diana is symbolized as endurance, silent strength, and inner light under a fragile appearance.
Vanilla and Lavender: Diana's favourite colours and scents. The colour combination is symbolized as serenity, warmth, and memory blending into light.
"My Immortal" by Evanescence: Diana's literally song as immortal. The song is symbolized as aching beauty, longing, and soft strength through sorrow.
Drawing: This activity is symbolized as Diana's art doesn’t just capture moments; it breathes life into memory.
6 Rings: These items are symbolized as Diana's dear items from her 6 Fiances (Thank youu birdiee for your drawingg... now I have reference for diana's dear items hehe)
Overcast sky with soft wind and glints of golden sunlight: this weather is symbolized as quiet grief learning to glow.
Warm honey-lavender bread with Earl Grey tea: Diana's favorite breakfast. For her it is soft, fragrant, nostalgic comfort.
Victorian-inspired outfit, soft layers, muted tones: Diana's signature outfit. Something comfortable enough for sketching, wandering corridors, or accidentally getting paint on without caring.
An animal that suits Irene's personality: Black cat! 🐈⬛
I choose black cat because Irene's eyes are shaped like a cat. They both have black hair, and even their personality are similar. The way they walk is so elegant and silent. I also love the fact that some people associate black cat with death or bad luck - just like Irene
Colour that fit Irene: Deep crimson♥️
The colour actually fits the Rosier. I've always associated them with red and roses. She always wears something red, whether It's ribbon, a jewelry, or lipstick (Sebastian always notice this!)
Song that feels like Irene: Brutus by The Buttress⚔️
This song is really perfect for her. As a woman, Irene hated the fact she couldn't be the Rosier heir, but she would betray the purebloods - killing their candidate and changing the system so she could become the Heiress (her ambition is mad as hell!)
Brutus is remembered as a traitor, even if he believes himself is righteous, Irene likely knows that the history may condemn her and she accepts that (lowkey this part turn out of her analysis)
Something that Irene passionate about: Embroidery🪡
Her mother forced her to learn it from young age - being a noble meant she had to excel at everything, including embroidery. As time went on, she grew to love that mundane activity; the repetitive motions gave her a sense of control.
An object that important to Irene: An enchanted eternal rose 🌹
Sebastian gave this to her after she had been mad at him countless times for his recklessness. Actually, he had just taken a rose from someone's garden (read; stolen) and enchanted it (Irene didn't know this fact) . And since Irene loves roses and the colour red, she couldn't help it but melt when he gave it to her.
A weather pattern that fits her mood: Winter foggy frost🌬️❄️
This matches her aesthetic elegance, pristine but dangerous. No need explanations
The food that Irene would order: Foie Gras🪿
A classic symbol of French luxury, matching her background.
An outfit Irene would wear: Edwardian Fashion (just like Canon Hogwarts Legacy)
She would wear something high-collared, lace, tailored to fit closely at the waist. It gave her an air of effortless dominance and aristrocratic composure, quitely superior. The fashion of that time was elegant but less heavy.
Female Deer / Doe: I read that Female Deer / Doe are represent of gentleness, grace, unconditional love, and kindness. In spiritual and mythological contexts, it symbolizes purity, nurturing motherhood, intuition, and a quiet connection to nature. This is what I think about Thessa.
Earth Tone Color: I picked this color combination not because she's a Hufflepuff. At first, I really wanted to associate her with pink. But gold, green, brown, and cream suit her so well... Since then, I’ve always drawn her with those colors.
Fool's Gold by One Direction: This is exactly what Thessa had in mind about Sebastian. Sebastian might believe he used her without her knowing. Ominis, Anne, or even Solomon might think that Thessa is unaware of his intentions. But in reality, She knew all along. She simply chooses him, to remain a ‘loyal’ friend.
Knitting: Her true passion is baking, but since she can’t do it freely at Hogwarts, she began to focus more on knitting instead. Still, after expanding her Room of Requirement, she occasionally returns to baking.
Her Glasses: Thessa doesn’t actually need to wear her glasses all the time. But because they were a gift from her brother, she wears them every day.
Morning Sun: To Sebastian, Thessa feels like the warmth of the morning sun and a gentle breeze, casting a calm, soft golden light.
Pancake: Thessa has a sweet tooth. She likes to start her mornings with pancakes drizzled with honey.
Outfit: Nothing so special about this, It’s just what a wealthy girl wears daily.
People often assume she is just a girl who cannot do much just because she looks soft and harmless. The song feels like quiet sarcasm toward that assumption. It represents the frustration of being underestimated.
🦦 Animal: Otter
Otters are cute and playful, which makes people often underestimate them. Until they bite. Hard. Just like Arra, who seems gentle and would never kill a mosquito, yet has more strength than people expect.
🎀 Colour: Dusty Rose
I almost gave her white, even though pink is her favorite color. But white usually symbolizes purity, innocence, and new beginnings. Arra is not always pure; she has a lot negative thoughts and self-doubt.
Blush pink represents youthfulness, optimism, and softness, which fits her personality now. However, dusty rose symbolizes mature femininity, gentle resilience, and self-acceptance. Even if she still feels like blush pink, I chose dusty rose because I want her to grow into self-acceptance.
📒 Important Object: Sketchbook
Her sketchbook is her world. Drawing was often dismissed by her mother as a waste of time. Art supplies were rarely bought unless absolutely necessary. She was told to focus on studying instead.
Because of that, her sketchbook became her private space. A place where she could exist when the world felt too loud.
🎨 Passion: Art — painting and drawing as her emotional outlet
Art is not just a hobby. It is her world. Because she often represses her feelings, art becomes the way she processes emotions she cannot say out loud.
🌫️ Weather Mood: Mist / Fog
Fog symbolizes obscurity, alienation, and the feeling of being unseen. As a half-blood, she grew up in the Muggle world. For years she lived in a grey mist; unheard, overshadowed by her brother, invisible. At Hogwarts, the fog turns pink. Pink mist belongs to sunrise and sunset, to moments of transition. It reflects her shift from invisibility toward becoming.
🍰 Last Meal: Strawberry Shortcake
Before refrigerator became common, strawberries were seasonal and could only be enjoyed at certain times of the year. Strawberry shortcake was often served at garden parties or family picnics, signaling the peak of summer. Sweet, nostalgic, and comforting.
👚 Outfit: Soft dusty rose Victorian
Middle-class dress. Modest and elegant, but not extravagant.
Iris Osbourne
🎶 Song: Femme Fatale A by Mulasaki Ima
Somehow this song feels like Iris. Based on the lyrics alone, it speaks about not following expectations but bending them instead. Even the way she dresses becomes a subtle rebellion against being defined.
🦊 Animal: Red Fox
Foxes symbolize adaptability, intelligence, ambition, and cunning. Just like a fox, she is ambitious, strategic, rebellious, and mischievous.
♦️ Colour: Scarlet red
Rebellious, bold, passionate, and confrontational.
🧤 Important Object: Quidditch Gloves (one swapped with Imelda Reyes)
Iris is a Slytherin Beater, while Imelda is a Chaser and the Captain. Each of them wears one glove that belongs to the other.
For two girls, exchanging something as personal as gloves was not entirely innocent. It suggests intimacy beneath the surface. Because they are both girls in the Victorian era, such a gesture carries intimacy and risk. Their relationship cannot be openly acknowledged, so the gloves represent trust, secrecy, and a bond that must remain hidden.
💥 Passion: Competition as core drive — debate and sparring as expression
She thrives on challenge. Debate, sparring, and confrontation are her natural arenas. She does not just want to participate; she wants to win and to prove herself.
I choose a broom as the symbol because broom racing is what truly excites her. She always asks Imelda to spar, even though there are other skilled flyers like Everett. She claims she simply enjoys competition, but the fact that she always chooses Imelda suggests otherwise.
⛈️ Weather Mood: Thunderstorm
A thunderstorm reflects her chaotic, intense, dramatic, and explosive nature.
🥔 Last Meal: Jacket Potatoes (with beans and cheese)
By the mid-19th century, baked potatoes became a popular street food in the UK. Simple but filling. A grounded, comforting choice, revealing a quiet softness beneath her rebellious exterior.
As a non-British, I chose this dish because it is often described as a childhood comfort food in the UK.
👕 Outfit: Bloomer Cycling Outfit
Rebellious and practical. A refusal to be restricted by social expectations, especially in an era when women were expected to wear skirts rather, not trousers.
I really wanted to draw Sebastian rocking a kilt in the most dashing way possible, and even though Ominis isn’t Scottish, I had him wear one too—let’s just say Sebastian made him do it 😌
Mahendra Pehlwaan - Isidora Morganach (being represented by her empty painting, because there's no photo mode in cutscenes)
Ravenclaw door knocker, for Rowena Ravenclaw
former Headmistress Niamh Fitzgerald - "The Grey Lady", Helena Ravenclaw
All Ravenclaws in Hogwarts Legacy, to the best of my knowledge and ability (but let me know if I missed anyone). I tried to make everyone look as good as possible, and I have plenty nice shots of them all that I didn't end up using, so if anyone wants more pics of their favourite underappreciated Ravenclaw, just let me know and I'll happily post them💙
