Urgent Appeal for HelpGazaChildren: Help refugees flee to Khan Younis!

Because of the looming invasion and brutal bombing throughout the most densely populated area in Gaza, Rafah, many refugees are looking to evacuate to Khan Younis!

The bombing is random and even the areas not included in the evacuation notices are bombarded. Many refugees are asking Hussam for funds to help them evacuate to Khan Younis to help keep their families safe.

The above is a screenshot of a facebook post from someone in Rafah. A tent can be as much as $700 and the transportation costs anywhere between $250-$400 per family. This cost is primarily for gas alone!!

Please donate so that people may be able to evacuate while also being able to afford basic necessities.

UPDATE: Food Packages!

Hussam managed to put together 150 food packages with feta cheese, halva, biscuits, sugar, salt, yeast, cooking oil, tomato sauce, and canned legumes! He also put together another set of 200 vegetable packages.

Thanks to all your help, Hussam’s able to put together packages like these to feed the people of Gaza in the midst of such a difficult time! There’s a special message in the video to everyone, so please take the time to watch it!

UPDATE!: Moments of Joy in Rafah Camps

Hussam and his team put together a joyful event for the kids in Rafah camps and wanted to share it with all of us here on Tumblr! This included games, songs, competitions, and face painting all of which the kids adored, and even the adults joined in on the good times. They were beyond happy to see their little ones having fun!

Thanks thank you so much everyone for supporting Hussam's efforts in Rafah, as you can see you're bringing a bit of joy to children's lives. Hussam said everyone was on cloud nine with the amount of fun they were having.

UPDATE: COLORING BOOKS!

These past few days, Hussam has been putting together 350 coloring books and colors for the children of the camps to both to help bring a bit of joy to their lives as well as encourage education and learning in the midst of not being able to go to school. Thank you so much everyone for all your help these past few weeks, because of you, we're able to put a smile on these children's faces!

For those of you who have been following this, my tumblr ‘helpgazachildren’ was deleted for unknown reasons. In the meantime, I put together this notion site to help document all the receipts and videos of updates for people who want a backlog of information. I will be continuously updating this site.

Update From North Gaza: Third Proof of Purchase!

This is Mahmoud Abusalama from North Gaza in the beginning, explaining the process of buying flour while at the same time distributing food packaged to families. The 2nd portion of the video is what he managed to buy at the end of his scavenge hunt for food and supplies. This will conclude our first North Gaza drive, which was held between March 4th-10th with $25k.

Mahmoud can't thank you enough for all your donations and efforts in this quick drive and wants you to know that so many people are sending tumblers their sincere and warm prayers 🙏

Don't forget, Hussam's campaign in South Gaza (Rafah) is ongoing and very much needed, especially during the month of Ramadan. Let's make sure the refugees have a nice iftar meal after 14hour fasting.

UPDATE: Hussam Bought Vegetables!

Hussam managed to put together 100 packages of vegetables for the families in Rafah camps. They were happy about this because vegetables are quite expensive in the markets.

The packages includes tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, lemon, and jalapenos.

UPDATE: NORTH GAZA DONATION DRIVE, Introducing Mahmoud Abu Salama

This is our team leader in North Gaza, Mahmoud Abu Salama who decided to reveal his identity.

Mahmoud is an artist, professional photographer, and journalist who has been consistently documenting what it’s like on the ground in the North of Gaza for months now. He has been broadcasting the news of horrible situations to many Arab and international news outlets, and on his instagram, which you can view here. Despite many threats to his life as a journalist he has been leading the efforts in finding supplies and distributing them to the hungry.

Our drive has reached around $6000 as of writing this which will roughly buy 12-15 bags of flour. We still have ways to go in making a good impact. UPDATE: Frozen Chicken for Ramadan!

Hussam managed to secure and buy 100 frozen 1.3kg chicken to the camps on his land and will work on another chicken run for the next camp! This is great news because people are lacking a lot of nutrients and protein so these will help them get a bit of their energy back!

Also, food cans are always available to everyone who needs them. People come to request food cans of meat and other things. But Hussam's team managed to distribute 1000 cans 2 days ago.

And! Diapers when available are also purchased and distributed on the spot to those who needs them.

Hussam distributed the toys to the kids! He said everyone was so excited for them, that even the older kids got jealous and he bought another hundred toys and extended the ages to receive toys to 3-13.

Hussam went around camp and spoke to the children about their toys before the war. He calls them "Amu" or "Uncle" as a term of endearment, and children also say this to refer to men outside their family.

You can hear in the background there is a constant humming sound. These are the drones they live with 24/7, a huge source of anxiety for many children. After taking this video, Hussam bought toys to help distract from the violence a bit and to put a smile on their faces. Most of the residents of the camp are children who left their entire lives behind *and* their beloved toys!

Thank you for all your support and kind wishes these past few days — here's an update about what's been happening since a couple days ago.

There is a huge influx of refugees from Khan Younis coming into Rafah, so Hussam has been using the fund from the paypal and buying items for people in need like:

Tents,

Mattresses,

Blankets,

Nylon tarps to cover tents (as tents tend to leak from the rain otherwise)

I (@/fairuzfan) mentioned in an earlier post that Hussam doesn't take videos of these purchases as they are urgent and on the spot but he told us that he will send a video soon.

PROOF OF PURCHASE #3

It's taken me (@fairuzfan) a bit of time to upload but Hussam has been hard at work gathering supplies these past few days. He's been traveling all over to multiple vendors and individuals because of how limited supplies are.

He is hard at work finding items for the menstrual hygiene kit. The video shows items he has bought two days ago including:

Today, Hussam purchased:

There are no videos or photos of these items as Hussam said he will provide videos of the whole kit when he puts them together. Please understand it took him a full day to find these items. Tomorrow he will be trying to find more items to include in the kit before distributing them to everyone. Many items and necessities are unavailable or in limited supplies, but Hussam buys everything necessary he can find when available!
