And with that, we are getting things started! As a brief reminder for those new to the event -- AU Roulette is a casual fic-writing challenge encouraging fanfic authors to play around with different types of alternate universe stories, which will be randomly assigned to each participant regardless of the fandom they sign up with.
Writers will be able to sign up from May 10th-31st with a fandom of their choice. At the start of June, each participant will be assigned three AUs from a masterlist using a random number generator. Each author will then have the choice of completing the challenge one, two, or all three of the AUs. Any fic exceeding a 500-word minimum will be considered a completion, so long as it employs the AU premise. Fics can then be posted at any point during the month of June.
As a reminder: The fandom you signed up with is used to filter AU assignments, in order to minimize re-rolls! (For example, someone signing up with "The Lord of the Rings" will not be assigned a High Fantasy AU). Please only sign-up with one fandom.

What is a bingo event?
You can check out the fanlore article here, but the gist of it is that you get a bingo board with 24 random prompts (weāve got like, 51 in our list total, but we might add more) and make a fanwork for any prompt you want to cross off to try and create a line of crossed-off squares across your bingo board. The middle is a āfree spaceā so you can do whatever you want for the overarching theme there!
Which board is which?
X-ray is the one with the x-ray of a bulb in the ass on a black background [left]. Fruity is the one with all the rotting fruit on a pink and white background [right].
Can I do one fanwork that hits multiple prompts?
Iām not a cop and thereās no points and no prize, so you can do whatever you want. If you just like rules, and want some though, how about:
Written fanworks may count for multiple prompts, but must be at least 250 words per prompt youāre crossing off.
Drawn fanworks may count for up to two prompts per sketch, three prompts per lined, and four prompts per fully rendered piece with background, but frankly I think an artist would need to be pretty creative to manage it.
Do I need to be 18 plus to participate?
I mean Iād prefer it but Iām not going to be checking your IDs. Thatās going to be between you and whatever platform that you upload your work to.
Will you reblog my work related to this bingo?
Maybe! Make sure it meets all of tumblrs TOS though. Use community labels. Itās going to depend on how much work it is :) do @ us, or we definitely wonāt see it.

I donāt like one of the prompts on my board.
Oh wow, thatās rough, maybe you can work around it. OR you can request another randomly generated board and see if you like that one better.
I donāt want a new board I just want this prompt off my board.
Ugh okay, fine. Reply to the email you received your board in and explain what you want taken off and weāll swap it with something. This may take a while because the rest of this is all automated and doesnāt require me to look at it. I havenāt even put the email on my phone.
If you have a ton of squicks around suboptimal sex though, this might not be the event for you!
What does this prompt mean?
You can interpret the prompts however you want! Iām not a cop!
I did write the prompts to be funny rather than clear, so have a look here to see what I was thinking, if you want, though. Totally optional. You can do whatever you want forever.
On a snowy night street, the cold cuts to the bone. Hank, momentarily forgetting that Connor is an android, removes his jacket and drapes it over Connor's shoulders. It's an almost instinctive gestureāhuman, warm, filled with care. He doesn't even consider that Connor is indifferent to the cold; for him, it's simply a desire to protect.
Connor stands in torn clothes, having lost his signature CyberLife jacket in the chaos of apprehending the criminal. The yellow diode on his temple flickers, and a faint blue trace from a wound he forgot to heal is visible on his skin, distracted by self-analysis. He looks ahead, as if trying to understand what this gesture, this warmth, this care, meansāsomething he didn't expect. He feels he should feel something specific, but in his programmed consciousness, everything blends into an indistinct wave.
Hank simply stands nearby; his hand on Connor's shoulder speaks more than words.
The snow falls thicker; the city around seems to disappear in this white silence.

(Hank lies on the floor, his chest rising and falling slowly. A glass with the remnants of whiskey sits nearby, the ice nearly melted. Connor leans over him, carefully supporting him by the neck, his grip gentle but steady.)
Connor: Lieutenantā¦ may I ask you a question?
Hank: (laughs hoarsely, not opening his eyes) Youāre going to ask anyway, Connorā¦
Connor: What do you feel when you drink?
(Hank blinks, frowning slightly, as though he didnāt expect the question. He sighs loudly, burying his hand in his hair.)
Hank: I feelā¦ that for a moment, I can stop feeling. (a short pause) The emptiness becomes quieter.
Connor: (softly) But it destroys you. Alcohol is toxic, it weakens your nervous system, increases the risk of heart diseaseā
Hank: (gruffly) I know, Connor. (a short laugh) Thanks for the medical lecture.
(Connor doesnāt respond immediately, his hand tightening slightly around Hank. A hint of concern flickers in his gaze. Around them, there is an unusual silence. Outside the window, the city doesnāt stopācars rush by, neon signs flash on and off, some people laugh, some argue. But here, in this corner, everything seems frozen. A quiet, suspended world, filled only with the weight of a gaze and the warmth of anotherās breath. In the air, something intangible hangs, fragile, like a snowflake melting on warm skin.)
Connor: I donāt want to lose you, Lieutenant.
(Hank opens his eyes, tired, but for a moment, something warm flickers in them. He is silent, staring at Connor as if trying to understand this strange, unwelcome feeling.)
