We are thrilled to include Indonesian black and white photographer Hengki Koentjoro’s images and thoughts on minimalism. His article titled “The Art of Minimalism Capturing Serenity Through Negative Space” is a real inspiration. The use of light and shadow in these images is something that should be studied in order to improve your approach to composition. This quote is interesting: “By embracing the concept of ‘less is more,’ minimalist photographers create images that exude serenity and tranquillity, often using negative space to convey a sense of calm and contemplation.”
