As a top stan seungri talking about getting a call from top annoyed me so much after learning about top’s scandal. He was probably going through an incredibly hard time yet seungri thought it was appropriate to bring it up as a joke? Not to mention him talking about how a member made a big fall and how he was more popular now. He also said “I’m not the one with an accident now”. I feel like he was excited that seunghyun got into a scandal.

Dude, Daesung went off on him then. It’s not on the DVD but I’ll never forget the fancam. “You need to make sure it’s okay with the other person, ask for permission first!” It was such a scolding, and that much, at least, I didn’t perceive as joking at all. At the time (April 2017), being blissfully unaware of the scandal brewing, I just figured he was safeguarding TOP’s privacy as a conscripted policeman. The others have said Daesung is someone they can confide in; he keeps their secrets safe. Seungri, on the other hand, was… not. It was the only thing that made sense to me… until a few months later.

I think we unknowingly witnessed something potentially treacherous that day. A line was this close to being crossed. How far over that line he was willing to go we’ll never know because Daesung finally regained control of the conversation and shut it down. Back in 2017, as much as I wanted to be delighted by Seungri’s ~surprise~ the whole thing felt too much like some weird metaphorical shoving match. Like Seungri was testing the boundaries of what he could get away with, dropping in on his hyung’s concert without notice and taking over, equipped with mic in hand and in-ear monitor and all. Which Daesung of course called him out on.

His sass was off the charts. Daesung is probably the only member of BB who would even remotely tolerate this, at least for a little while. It’s always been a bit funny to me that Seungri didn’t try it again with Youngbae or Jiyong; his guest appearances at their concerts were planned.

At best, attempting to give him the benefit of the doubt, it was a clumsy move on Seungri’s part. But you can’t tell me that after working together for so many years, Seungri didn’t know that Daesung wouldn’t take well to being surprised like this on such a big day at an event of such weight. And after seeing more – the quarreling, the stilted conversations, and Daesung’s less-than-pleased responses – yeah, can’t say I feel much better about it.
