I love how, as you read further into the manga, the scene from chapter 2, where Elizabeth and Ciel argue over the ring, unfolds in a completely different light.

When I first started reading the manga, I was annoyed by Lizzie's behavior and thought something like: "God, she's so foolish and spoiled, why make such a big deal out of a ring? Ciel already agreed to go to the ball, why focus on something so trivial?"

After reading chapter 58, I was about 99% on Elizabeth's side: "Damn, she gave up a part of herself for Ciel, she's playing the role of the bride he'd want her to be. Of course she snapped when he didn't appreciate her efforts and even refused to wear a different ring for one evening!"

But after the twins' backstory, I honestly can't decide whose side I'm on. Because that ring wasn't just a family heirloom to Ciel — it was something connected to his brother and to the image of the perfect Earl Phantomhive and head of the manor. And he literally had to pull that ring out of the dead r!Ciel's body. With all that weight on his shoulders, Ciel still managed to pull himself together when the ring broke, and ended the evening in a way that was pleasant for Elizabeth and everyone around him. What incredible willpower!

But Lizzie's pain and suffering don't just disappear either... Because for her, it was never really about the ring. It was about her fiancé's overall behavior and his refusal to compromise — especially when she had laid her whole life at his feet.

Ughhh, this manga is just on another level!

This official art is probably one of my MOST favorite ones, if not my absolute favorite. It looks so sweet and cozy... Sebastian and Ciel are acting like a typical parent and child here. The way Sebastian tries to make Ciel smile for a joint photo, and how Ciel fiercely resists it... Just adorable!!

˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ A few headcanons about Elizabeth and Sieglinde's relationship when they first started dating ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

For the first time in a long while, Lizzie feels that her need for physical affection isn't something the person close to her finds annoying and simply tolerates. Instead, it's genuinely liked and welcomed! And what makes it even better is that she isn't the only one initiating hugs and touches!

Sieglinde doesn't reject or fear Elizabeth's fighting skills. She genuinely admires them, happily watching her girlfriend train, and calls Lizzie her beautiful knight.

Lizzie, in return, calls Sieglinde her mighty little witch. At first she was a bit scared of Sieglinde's chemistry experiments, but when she showed her those impressive reactions, the colors changing and the glowing lights, Lizzie was absolutely delighted!

Sieglinde loves that Elizabeth can carry her in her arms or give her piggyback rides, even if it doesn't quite fit the image of a "proper lady."

Lizzie is thrilled that Sieglinde is enthusiastic about experimenting with her looks and is always ready to try on outfits her girlfriend bought for her, because she trusts Lizzie's taste.

Sieglinde is incredibly grateful that Elizabeth never makes her feel ashamed when she mixes up English words or forgets a rule of etiquette.

Both girls try to add a small piece of each other's aesthetic to their own style — a brooch, a bracelet, a ring, or a hair ribbon — so they can feel close even when they're far apart.

Bonus:

Sieglinde has no one else to turn to, so she talks to Wolfram about her relationship with Lizzie. He feels very awkward about it, but he tries not to show it and carries out his fatherly duties flawlessly (including giving her romantic advice loool).
