[frowns a little at his words]Â Yeah. Well. We all know how well that turned out. [relaxes a little]Â Yeah, but I like taunting you.
But really though, what do you need?
[Rolling his eyes, Isaac sighed heavily]Â Donât -- okay, just donât. Of course you do, itâs all you ever do. Doesnât matter, itâs fine. -- wanna get out of here?â

Then why not just ask me outright? Itâs not like Iâd tell you no. [pulls him close to her, putting her arms around his neck]Â Would it bruise your manly ego to ask me for help or something?
Thatâs definitely an interesting suggestion coming from you. [His brow arches as he looks down at her, his own arm hanging loosely at her hip] I thought you knew me better than to ask something like that..
megaracooper:
[sighs]Â I honestly donât know. Do you want some help figuring it out?
âThat was the general idea behind asking you.â

[makes non committal âI donât knowâ noise]
âGood to see youâre in a helpful mood.â

His brows knitting together, it took all the energy he had not to completely lose it at her in that moment. âWhen have you ever let me keep anything to myself? No matter how important it was to me to keep it secret?â The amount of times sheâd hounded him time after time in order to find out whatever was eating at him, from Fiona to his dad -- when had she ever allowed him to keep anything to himself. âDonât you fucking pull that god damn card, Meg. Iâm not jumping down your throat trying to find out what the hell is going on with you, Iâm asking you to tell me.â Her next words had his hands up in the air as he turned his back to her, never being one to be comfortable dealing with self pity. âI like being with you, and Iâd have been willing to work through this shit with you if youâd have just told me, but you didnâtâÂ
Shaking his head, he turned back to her, not willing to look directly at her. He was sure whatever he was feeling right now was hurt, but itâd been so long since heâd felt it that he wasnât sure. âIs that supposed to make me feel better? Drinking and sex were higher on your priority list in order to forget than actually coming clean?â This ---this right here was why he didnât do relationships. Sighing heavily, his blue orbs finally met hers, and he stared for the longest time. â----- I think you should leave.â

âI thought I could handle it.â Meg mumbled. âIt was just then. The⌠The telling you not to touch me. Until you touched me I was in my bubble and when I had to deal with you finding out⌠I panicked.â She looked down. âI was hoping⌠I wouldnât have to. I was ashamed, Isaac.âÂ
âI donât⌠I donât know.â She responded. âItâs not as black and white as not being over Zach and the daughter I lost. You donât have to do anything. Iâm trying to take care of it on my own, at most all I could want is just for you to⌠To be there. If it gets bad. Because it might get worse before it gets better.â She said, her voice soft.Â
Relationships were never his thing, this right here, was only proof enough to him that deciding that he and Meg should give this a go was only one more mistake on his long list of them. âIt shouldnât be like that!â He snapped, taking an angry step forward. âYouâre not supposed to want to keep things from me --- not supposed to want to deal with things without me.â He might not have been the most intelligible person when it came to this kind of thing, but he was sure of that much.Â
Rough hand over his face, Isaac dropped his gaze to the floor, trying to think of some way to help -- some way to get past the idea of his girlfriend being more broken than he could handle. This wasnât something he could fix, no matter how much he did or didnât want to try. âSo what is it then? Tell me what this is about. Because I donât get it, Meg. I donât understand --- I thought you were happy enough with what you had.â His voice grew desperate, knowing that he clearly thought wrong. âGets worse? How much worse does it get, Megara? Because you just shot me down like I tried to attack you, when all I did was touch you.. What else do I have to have thrown in my face before this gets better?â

âNo. You don-You donât understand.â Meg tried for words again, sitting up a little, trying to regulate her breathing. âI wasn-I didnât-â She sighed, looking down at her trembling hands. âI know you werenât going to.. To hurt me.â She said, sighing again when she got the words out. âI haveâŚBeen going to a therapist for a few weeks. I apparently suffer from PTSD and depression both of which have have gone untreated since I⌠Well, the baby.â Talking was helping, the shaking in her hands stopped, her voice a little stronger. âIt got worse, and I get these episodes where I just⌠Iâm disconnected. And Iâd hoped theyâd stopped, I hadnât had any since I got back from break and I knew it was only a matter of time that I got one here, with you, with all the time weâve been spending together. I should have told you but I didnât want you to know⌠To see how-â Her voice broke a little, a sob slipping past the strong front she was trying to put on. âHow broken I am.â She finished, her voice soft again. She hung her head, unable to look Isaac in the eye, not knowing how he would respond. She figured his throwing her out wouldnât be a shock, dating someone as messed up as she was wasnât easy and their relationship was already rocky most days as it was. But she hoped heâd let her stay or talk at least.
The reasoning behind her behavior spilling from her like word vomit --- a nice difference to her earlier struggle, Isaac crossed his arms over his chest, rocking back on his heels as he listened. âSo.. youâre seeing a therapist, snapping at me not to touch you and Iâm just supposed to be left in the dark about it all until it becomes too much for you to keep secret from me?â Huffing a small laugh, he raked a large hand through his hair, shaking his head lightly. âWhen exactly were you going to tell me about all of this, huh?â After everything heâd been through, everything heâd ever told her, and she still didnât trust him enough with her own secrets, especially now, that she was sleeping in his bed because he wanted her there, not because that was just where theyâd passed out.Â
Broken. The word alone made him cringe. He didnât like issues -- his own or anyone elses, and the fact that she did in fact have some of her own that he already wasnât aware of set him on edge. âWhat am I supposed to do with this, Meg? What am I supposed to do with the fact that youâre not over the fact that you lost a kid to some other asshole, how am I supposed to deal with that?â It was insensitive, he knew that, but at this point in time, he couldnât care less --- omitting something like that was lying, and he hated liars, no matter how highly skilled in the art he was himself.

âIâŚâ Meg looked up at Isaac with wide eyes, still struggling with words while also trying to move. âIsaac-â She didnât know what to say but the panic was welling up, fear settling in her chest. She wasnât scared of Isaac, more so afraid of his seeing her in this state, and his kicking her out on top of her realized fear of his seeing her like this set off a panic. âPlease.â She begged, tears welling in her eyes while she struggled to breathe normally. She couldnât find words, she could hardly breathe, her fingers clutching her clothes like a lifeline.
âDonâtâ He shook his head, glare still set in stone on his face. âDonât even try.â Like he was going to stand by and let her shy away from his touch for no reason, let her snap and look at him like heâd threatened her. For the most part, he liked having people who feared him -- but he never wanted it to be Meg --- he didnât need this to be a repeat of Fiona. Stepping back away from the bed, his head still shaking Isaac could hardly look at her now. âI said get out, Cooper.â Heâd rather go back to living with his father than have someone continue to look at him like he was some kind of monster.
