🛡 Warding 🛡
Disclaimer: This is all based on my research, path, opinion & experiences! Intro: I really was holding out on doing this post because it’s such a big, important topic to cover and I really don’t want to mess it up or get anything wrong. This post needs to be done though, people have asked if I have such a post and an anon suggested it. So finally, here it is. - What Is Warding? Warding is a type of magick, it is the act of creating an energetic barrier around you, your home, an object, ect. They can be temporary or permanent, although typically they are cast with the long term in mind. They can banish or turn away whatever you choose. Warding is an excellent skill to have because it can keep you, and even others safe and with practice you can do it anytime with just about whatever you have on hand. When Should I Ward? Whenever you want an energetic barrier around you, most people consistently ward their home, themselves or their place of practice. Some people even ward their space every time they prepare for a spell. It should be done consistently in any area you want protected, but exactly where and how often is entirely up to the practitioner. What Should I Do Before? Cleanse, a ward is a barrier of energy and in the same way that it keeps things out it also keeps things in. You don’t want to trap anything inside of it. Cleanse yourself before you ward yourself. Cleanse your space before you ward your space! Tips Before You Ward- Phrasing Keep the phrasing in mind! You don’t want to keep anything out that you want in, or let something in that you want out. If you’re chanting or using sigils ect keep in mind exactly what you want to keep out both in your methods and in your mind. Covering everything Make sure to cover everything, a ward is useless if there’s a weakness in it or if the ceiling & floor aren’t probably covered. Be super thorough! Layering Your Wards One small little wimpy barrier? Ha, the spirits say as they scramble into your home to wreak havoc! You need to layer your wards, don’t just use one method one time, there’s no such thing as too much warding. What Are Some Ways That I Can Ward? Now we’ll get right down to the methods you can use to ward yourself and your space! Remember that warding is important and needs to be effective, don’t try anything that you don’t have experience with for warding. At first, focus on the stuff you know. If you like sigils, use sigils at first and slowly work your way into using other more complex methods or methods that solely rely on your abilities. Circle Casting You cast a circle by summoning the four elements to protect & energize what is in the circle. - Here’s my post about circles & how to cast them Chanting/Speaking Come up with a protective chant you can use to ward your space. This chant could be someone else’s or your own as long as you feel it’s effective. Speak it aloud and visualize a layer of energy protecting your space. Incense Burn a protective incense in the space you’d like to ward and visualize a barrier protecting your space. Athame Draw out the line of your ward with your athame, visualize the wall appearing, covering everything with a thick layer of energy. Spraying Spray a mix of blessed/magickal waters and or herbs with protective properties in the space you want to ward. Sigils Create a sigil using your favorite method with the intent to “ward” or “protect/protection.” Then charge and activate it as a layer of protection! Here’s my post on sigils if you’re interested in that: - Sigil Post Jar Spells You could mix up a jar spell for warding, set it in your house and forget it as a layer of warding. - My protective jar spell post Anointment Anoint the doorways of your space, you could also anoint the ceiling, floor, walls, corners, honestly go for it. Salt Sprinkle salt all around the edge of your home or space. Make sure to sprinkle salt on the INSIDE of your harm as salt can harm plants & wildlife if used outside. If you’d like to make a barrier on the outside of your home, you can use dried & crushed eggshells in place of salt. - Post on how to make eggshell powder here - Hag stones Hag stones are stones with holes in them that have been corroded into the stone because of rushing water. It is believed rushing water is protective & cleansing so if you wear a stone that sat in it long enough to have parts corroded away, that the stone will maintain and keep those properties with it. It’s a great way to personally ward yourself, and an excuse to go out in nature. They look like this!
Energy Manipulation If you’ve got a knack for manipulating energy, you can create a barrier through work and visualization that surrounds yourself or your space. This isn’t recommended for beginners though! Links: - Horse Warding Charm By @anothersusurrus - House Warding Spritz Mixture By @seleneblackwell Both of these are great if you’re looking for specific spells, types of magick, correspondences, sigils, ect! - Protection Magic Masterpost Part 1 By @auricwitch - Protection Magic Masterpost Part 2 By @auricwitch Personal Wards Also remember not just to ward your space but yourself, if you layer your home with wards, what happens when you leave? Exactly. Keep yourself safe too! Circle casting & hag stones are great methods I mentioned above that are good for personal warding. Can I Ward Specific Things And Not Others? Absolutely! I mentioned this in the phrasing section of this post, keep in mind exactly what you want to keep out when you’re warding. I like words like “negative” or “harmful” or “with ill intent” because they don’t necessarily keep out the Fae or positive/neutral spirits but it does keep out anything that wants to harm you in general. Just think about it ahead of time, find wording or a phrase you like and keep that in mind as you ward. What If I Live With People? If you’re out of the broom closet, explain to your family/roommates what you’re doing and why you’re doing it and make sure they’re cool with it and are aware of what’s going on. If you’re not out of the broom closet, you may have to resort to only warding yourself/your room, & that’s okay! I hope this helps someone or teaches them something new! Enjoy! Have a lovely day 💖

The Elements are the forces of Nature and life, and are incorporated into ritual and magick. Every aspect of existence is bound up in Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. And the fifth element which is Spirit (or also deemed Aether), which is present in each of the other four. Each of the four classical Elements is associated with one of the four cardinal directions; North, East, South, and West.
There are also energetic associations, that add great depth to interpretations of how people with different zodiac signs interact with each other, for each sign is associated with an Element, and each Element is different.

Servitors
Many people often are very confused on how to start working with spirits, I always recommend a general servitor to start with. This post is on what a servitor is and how to make one. As always there is a short selection of books at the bottom which I have cited from that you can read for yourself on this subject.
A Servitor is an astral entity that is consciously created by the power/authority of the magi using evocatory techniques. Servitors are created for serving their creator with their intent or goal, there are also servitors that are found naturally and you do not have to “create” but this post will focus on work with created servitors. Servitors can be usefully deployed to perform a wide range of tasks or functions on the creators’ behalf. Servitors can be created to work with one particular situation, event, intent. or alternatively servitors can be created which have a general provenance in one area, such as divination, healing, conjuring etc.
How do I start? A contract NEEDS to be made in order to create a servitor. I created an example of a contract down at the bottoms of the post. You give life into your servitor, but this also means you have to give them a personality, voice, and a list of what they can and cannot do. (All of this should be in the contract.) This also means the more complex that you make them the harder they are to create and control. They will just fill in their personality from your unconscious intent and feelings if you do not create a personality, this could be bad and a good thing If you are worried about a certain attribute you are thinking about adding into the servitor, do not do it, until you are versed in working with servitors and banishing rites. The contract needs to state when they will be created, who created them, for what intent are they made for, a timeframe needs to be made out for how long they will serve their creator, how they will feed, how will they be departed and destroyed, their name, their material base, and whatever else you feel like is important. In my experience (and that of my peers), the more work that is given to a servitor, the more “powerful” it becomes and the more likely it is to become self-aware and “evolve”, into something greater and more powerful (see egregore). The “contract” is not just a “contract”; you need to bind the servitor into an object in order to give them life ei the contract. If you bind them into the contract rather than a common object then you will have even more of a sway over the spirit, because the contract should state what they can and cannot due. For example, when you feed you should put the contract with the sigil of them next to or near the object they will feed off of, when you want to destroy the servitor you should burn or destroy the contract. A shape of the servitor would be a good place to start when writing the contract as well because otherwise the servitor would just be a blob of energy and intent.
The servitor’s “sigil” I use quotes around sigil, because in this section I will refer to the activation of said servitor after it is created. The sigil is how you will active the servitor after its creation, it is how you will call it in need, it is how you make it do its task, it also gives you power over the servitor. Now when you create the contract, somewhere on that should be the sigil that is made from the servitors’ name. There are many many ways to create sigils but it does need to be created by you so don’t bastardize a sigil from somewhere else it takes five minutes of you time at most. Some say the best way to create a sigil is to draw it from your subconscious mind in a gnosis state because that is where all of your desires comes from.
The name of a servitor A name is important when creating a servitor, some servitors I have encountered do not like having a name, but a name is very important especially if something goes wrong with the servitor and they go haywire, because with a name they would be easier to banish and have control over. For example, if you were in a group of people and you wanted to speak to this one and they were running away how could you get their attention?
Creating a servitor The initial charge or “feeding” is the most important of the creation of the servitor, usually one does this in a meditative state whether it be a trance or gnosis or within your astral state is up to you, all one needs is complete focus on what you are creating and why. The “initial charge” could be from anything that is a massive amount of energy that is direct at the conjuration of the servitor, this can be done in a multiple of ways with bodily fluids like; semen, blood, spite, and this can be done in many meditative states. In many books you will see creation of servitors from sex magick or blood magick as both of those produce a lot of energy and can easily be controlled and focused.
Feeding a servitor A servitor is a spirit, spirits are alive, so they must feed to stay alive. This can be done in a variety of ways, but the way you feed your servitor should be in your contract otherwise it could potentially feed off of other energy and becoming self-aware (see egregore below) A servitor can feed from essentially anything that has an energy if you (the creator of the servitor) have the knowledge to make it so. You could even make it drain the energy from batteries if you put it in your contract and have the know-how.
Issues With a more generalized Servitor, anyone who knows its activation sequence (such as a mantra, sigil, or visualization sequence) can employ it to work at a given task. Which means whoever does know whatever activates said servitor can use it against you. Remember any decent magi needs a few well-kept secrets for their own safety. Planets going into and out of retrograde, as well as astrological events can cause problems with servitors, this can be best shown if a servitor was created for communication and mercury then goes into retrograde. Many people especially when they first get into working with servitors quickly becoming overwhelmed by them and make too many servitors, and cannot feed all of them or care for them. Other people become too dependent on servitors for simple magickal acts and therefore cannot function without that servitor, and then when that crutch is eventually gone they cannot stand without them.
Destroying the servitor Now knowing what a servitor is I must ask, what will happen if a servitor dies? When a servitor is destroyed or killed by their creator(s)’, energy is thrown out into area from the astral body and the contract or object (if the binding is done in a certain way). Now, if recalled and destroyed correctly you should be able to reabsorb any of the energy collected by it plus the invested energy. This is why many people just make a servitor and then destroy it in a week or two.
Servitor versus an egregore A servitor is a simple spirit that is designed to do its task and nothing more, if a servitor is self-aware then it becomes what it known as an egregore. This can be done upon creation on purpose, but most of the time this happens when you have a servitor for so long and it accidentally finds loopholes in the contract and uses them, thus becoming self-aware.
Servitor vs “God Head” “It is not unknown for powerful entities to survive the death of their creator. The more people that “create” such an entity also enhances its survival and capacity to store information. In these terms, it is easy to see how a small spirit may, given time and the energy input (directed through ritual and other techniques for directing energy) by enough people, could become what we commonly assume to be “gods”.” (Phil Hine aspects of evocation) Just as a fetish is a talisman that is created by many people a God-head is an entity created by many people
Example of a contract This is a contract for the man made servitor Bob, created by the Magi _____ by the power of them in the hour of Saturn on the day (date) Bob is a simple servitor; they are an extension of my will and are used as a foot hole into the other etheric realms. (this would be the intent and why they are created) Their sigil is (picture of sigil) They will be bound into this contract and will be feed by quartz soaked in my blood on every full moon. The crystal will be placed on the sigil I have created on the contract. (feeding example) They will be destroyed when this is chanted and the contract is burned, until then they will remain an extension of my will and will serve me in that way. Bob looks like (a shape will help them in form otherwise they would just be a blob of energy) At the end of the contract would be a good place to put anything extra like, if anyone who is not me tries to activate this servitor then the servitor will indeed go to them, but they will drain their energy instead of listening to them.

I won’t get mad or anything. It’s important to make sure you feel comfortable and secure.
Witchcraft is a bit like the ocean; it has varying depths. Close to the shore, it is shallow; you can clearly see the bottom and all the fish and creatures swimming within it. It's comfortable to stand near at the shore and wade in these waters, and the risks are exceptionally low. If you can't swim well or at all, this place is a nice starting point. However, there isn't much to see or do when you're standing by the shore. It's difficult to see and comprehend the ocean in all of her majesty when you've only just glimpsed a fraction of her.
However, once you begin feeling confident wading the the water, you may begin to wander further from shore. The water gets deeper and deeper until you can't see or feel the bottom. From there, you have the option of either swimming off further or downward.
Diving downward is the equivalent of specializing in an area of the craft. The further you swim down, the weirder and more fantastical things become. Swimming further out is researching broadly in hope of learning more advanced material. There are pros and cons to both paths, but you aren't required to stay locked in on your choice. You have the option to dive down a bit and swim forward, or swim forward and dive later.
Like the ocean, the further out you go or the deeper you go, the more potential risks arise. Just like with swimming, pacing is important. If you've just learned how to swim and you've decided to swim far from shore, you may lack the energy to swim back. Or if you are unaware of what lurks beneath the surface and have no clue how to defend yourself, you may just get bitten. However, if you slowly build your skills and your confidence, you'll not only gain a newfound respect for the Craft and all associated mysteries, but you'll be able to progress safely.
If you are a beginner, you may find it difficult to understand why more experienced practitioners take the craft as seriously as they do and encourage people to practice safely. Just as it is impossible to comprehend a giant squid until you're floating in front of it in the vastness of the ocean, it is impossible to comprehend that level seriousness until you've had the type of experiences that produce it.
The further you get from shore and/or the deeper you go, the more life-changing the Craft becomes. I, personally, have had experiences that have thoroughly changed and recreated me. I have had overwhelmingly positive experiences and terrifying experiences. And the deeper and farther I go, the more intense they become.
Witchcraft, while often fun and exciting, is not a toy or something to be taken lightly. It is like the ocean: vast, breathtaking, and filled with unknowns that are beyond your human comprehension. But with each step you take, with each backstroke or butterfly kick, you can experience it and gain just a bit more understanding. If you approach the Craft with respect, you will reap the rewards.

The Importance of Personal Warding

—
They say the best offence is a good defense.
Creating a set of effective personal shields is possibly one of the most important things a witch can do – but don’t just settle for a simple bubble or mirror shield! These are easily broken with enough force, and if that’s your only line of defense, you’re in trouble!
The most effective way to protect oneself is to have an array of layers to one’s wards – each with a different purpose. The ones I will be covering are listed below, in the order of outermost to innermost:
Cloaking shield – Made of a bubble of water, it reflects and refracts light, keeping me from detection.
Clam shell shield – Barrier against harmful forces
Decoy clam shells – I created several identical clam shells within the cloaking shield to distract from the main shield
Warning (“stop poking around, or you’ll get hurt”)
Pearl shield – Barrier against harmful forces
Epidermis of Jellyfish – Thin layer of fleshy material to keep the inner shields separated and to help with noise reduction of Siren’s Song
Mesoglea of Jellyfish – Thick, goopy, gelatinous layer. Sticky, hard to get through, slows intruder down, acts as noise dampener for Siren’s Song (Lined with Gastrodermis to keep the mesoglea where it belongs)
Siren’s Song – Charged with actual singing. Linked to a queen conch. Conch acts as a storage facility for the energy used to charge all the shields. Siren’s Song draws the intruder further in and traps them, draining them and sending their energy to the conch. Linked by blood to me and also linked to a small conch pendant. The pendant acts as a conduit for directing the energy to myself.
I’ve assembled the shields in a few different segments, as the outer oceanic layer took much more energy than I anticipated. I tested the segments in phases, as they were assembled. Phase 2 was during my recharge at the ocean. I required a significant amount of energy for building the siren’s song spell layer, and reinforced the ocean layer during this time.
“Siren’s Song” by Sara Singer or “Siren” by Red Delicious are both great tunes to sing for this shield’s charge up. Imagine a harmful entity breaching the walls, breaking past the barriers that were set up, then hearing your soothing voice singing. It becomes enthralled and wants to come closer, drawn in further. Finally making it to the center of the chamber, the conch shell sits on a dais, emanating the haunting song you’re singing. The entity picks the shell up, lovingly, and is sucked inside. The shell drops back to the dais, and the entity is trapped.
“Seven Seas there were once, and the eighth was born.” ~Khnum
Ward Testing
Phase 1:
Ocean, decoys, shell, warning, and pearl.
Testers: Unutha, Eilena, and Khnum
Khnum was first. Khnum astral projected into the wards and gave this as a result:
“They look good, the liquidity makes it difficult to get a grasp on them to see if there’s a way of getting through, and they’re kind of scary in a suck-away-at-you way once you touch them. The complication of the parts in them make it hard to see you clearly, too. It’s really weird, like a river rolled into a ball.”
I didn’t sense Khnum any time he projected to me. He’s got a very subtle energy signature.
Eilena went next, shooting me with an energy blast.
She followed the energy to the destination. The blast didn’t penetrate the shell. She described the ocean layer as being thick, and giving a sense of drowning.
Eilena came to me as a vision of a storm over the ocean.
Unutha was last, in this set. He tried to probe the wards with a weapon, and poke holes. He hit a decoy.
“Okay so I felt like I was in the water of an aquarium, I pushed through and hit what i thought was you, smashed through you and got to this darker section like the deep ocean and then tried to push through a black orb/egg. To be fair I was improvising with what I had.”
I asked if he hit any warnings, and he said an octopus grabbed him, but he slashed at it with the same thing he was using to stab my wards.
Unutha felt like a cool breeze on my face.
Khnum went again after this, wanting to try an ice attack with gypsum.
He wanted to try to freeze a section. He got a piece about the size of his palm and then it receded back. He saw things moving around, but nothing noticed him.
I felt something akin to being annoyed by a bug but unable to kill it.
I liked to use Khnum as a method to describe the ocean shield layer.
Phase 2:
How does being at the ocean affect the shields?
Testers: Khnum was the only one available to test this round. I had him test twice.
When I went to the beach, I absorbed the energy pretty quickly. As a sea witch, the ocean recharges me. By the end of the beach trip, I had absorbed so much energy that I was filled with a sense of love and belonging, and my entire body was vibrating.
First test was being within a mile from the ocean but not actually on the beach. Khnum’s description is as follows:
“More. The bubble sort of exploded. You’re a tiny space inside a really thick sphere.”
Second test was being at the actual beach, in the water:
“That’s odd. It’s thickened again and this time you’re not in the center. There’s one huge sphere of water and one inner sphere, which you’re in, but the inner sphere is near the bottom of the bigger one which is almost entirely above ground. There’s a big empty space above you and I saw things swimming in it that reminded me a little of sea turtles.
I think you’ve gone and created a spell ecosystem out of this. xD ”
Phase 3:
Jellyfish layers, and siren’s song.
Testers: Khnum, Eilena, Kiley, and Jelly
Khnum was apprehensive, but went in.
“Apprehensive but comfortable! Here goes nothing.
Hmph. Whirlpool trap?
I got into the pearl and then started spinning around and couldn’t get out again.
It was pretty scary. xD I’m neither claustrophobic nor thassalophobic, but the combination of the two was new and unnerving. It was definitely a good deterrent from getting to you, so I have no doubt it’ll work on spirits!”
Once he was trapped, I blew on the shell and released him. I asked if he was able to see a way out. He said no, but after a minute he just sort of phased out of it.
“I did find the shield to be alarmingly beautiful and got drawn in -maybe I did hear the song but didn’t register it?”
He was drawn down there by a light from the outer layer, which indicated that the jellyfish wasn’t enough to dampen the attraction of the song. I thickened the jellyfish walls, but a light was still mildly visible. I used a combination of sea life and squid ink to obscure the light.
“The ink makes it black. It’s scary and not as pretty but more effective. xD”
Eilena came through and described the event:
“That’s… very pink.” She describes being very close to being pulled into the trap. “pink, sticky and pulling, felt it siphoning off some energy but not at a fast rate. Getting back out was harder than getting in. Sort of a ‘just give up and relax, settle down, it’s cozy here’ feeling. There was some vague sound but I couldn’t really make it out, almost just like a white noise kind of background thing.”
I asked about any sealife, since Una got attacked by an octopus. Eilena mentioned zapping an eel after it zapped her. This explains the tightness I felt in my chest during the testing. I felt a heaviness when she got there, which she explained as her going for a stone’s weight to sink through the vast ocean layer as fast as possible. She didn’t feel or sense the Siren’s Song from outside the shell, but once she made it inside the shell, she felt the “relax” sensation.
I asked if there were any other things that she wants to mention that I didn’t ask about. “mm, I think there were sort of like jellyfish tentacles? Contributing to the ‘pulling in’. They didn’t sting but they seemed to be where the energy drain was coming from. My impressions are usually pretty vague, sorry.”
She added that “it seemed like I went through a lot of pink, with the pull getting stronger as I went in. I’m not sure if not getting caught was just because I didn’t go far enough in, or if I was just able to fight the pull enough to get out again.”
I suggested the pink she saw was the inside of the conch, and she agreed, stating that the color was “queen conch pink.”
She describes the “just relax” feeling as being very hard to shake, and the conch being much harder to get out of than it was to get in.
I explained that Khnum had the sensation of being sucked in violently. She had a much more delicate experience? She described it as fighting the current on the way out. Some of her energy was sucked into the conch and is currently stored there.
She also described feeling tentacles helping pull her in, and a pulsing sensation like that of a heartbeat.
Jelly came into the ward system to poke around. He came with no intent for harm, and nothing attacked him while he was there. He had trouble finding me in the ocean ward and asked for help from a giant octopus. The octopus grabbed him and flung him toward a giant clam shell. I instructed him to knock and describe what he saw:
“Some sort of shell with a glowing spherical thing inside. The shell looks like a conch shell. I can’t tell the details of the area but it’s manifesting in my mind as a theatre and the shell is on the stage playing the song?? But that seems to be a glamour/illusion. Outside of the glamour, it seems to be on a regular table that is…brown in color?” (When I cast this part of the spell, I indeed set up a glamour for that very image and the physical shell was on my brown kitchen table at the time I cast). “On the surface of my thoughts I feel calm, but my gut feeling knows it’s a trap. I feel like I’m slowly being coaxed into the shell.” I instructed Jelly to try and touch the shell. “I poked it and the suck intensified like 3000x. But I still resisted it and didn’t get sucked in, though you probably got a bit of my energy.” I confirm that I did get a small amount of energy. He said he jumped back as soon as the sucking got stronger.
We did some additional testing, like throwing in negative feelings. The conch seems to eject anything that might harm me.
Kiley asked to test something with my wards. She wanted to see how her wards (which are nearly identical to mine) interact with my wards. When she came in, she described a feeling like two oceans meeting. I felt as though I were suddenly covered in water, with it filling my lungs. I felt a warm calm. Like family was with me.
I asked if she felt a warning layer at all, and to describe what she saw and felt.
“That was when I got the tenseness on my back and neck. After the warning layer. I heard the song and I found it nice and delightful. But I didn’t feel a need to follow it, per say. Part of that may have been because I know exactly what that is lol. And maybe because I didn’t come with the intent of malice or to attack at all. So it didn’t draw me in like I think it is meant to for others who are aiming to cause you harm.”
Final Results
The amount of energy you need to put into this is taxing, to be sure, but well worth the effort. The more you concentrate and reinforce the layers, the stronger they get.
The siren’s song is charged by singing. I’m compelled to sing constantly while wearing the pendant. The compulsion and love energy that’s required for the spell is… lovely. But it lasts a while. Possibly have an outlet for it when the spell is done. Blood and seawater anchor the shell battery and the shell conduit to each other and to myself.
Jellyfish not initially thick enough to reduce draw from outside layers. Thickened walls, but a “light” was perceived still (though dampened). I used squid ink and sea life to obscure the light, which seemed to work.
The description of a current which can be fought against is concerning, as I would prefer it to be impossible to escape, but it may not be a bad thing for escape to be possible. Eilena’s escape causes me to wonder what the effects would be on someone who got away? I have a bit of her energy in the shell. Is there a link? Will it continue to siphon slowly?
Note: Hubby came home and saw the altar with the conch on it. He touched the conch and some of his energy drained into it and filtered into my necklace. Kiley has the same ward, and at my request, had her significant other touch it. Same results. Energy drain, mild, no immediate reaction from either person, but definite feel in the necklace.
Addendum: Unwitting friend touched the pendant. It did not take energy from her.
Second Addendum: I work with someone who can see auras. She came up to me to tell me the shell was white when it just blended in with my orange the last time she saw me and asked what was different. I let her touch it and she described feeling electricity. Eilena’s energy has been feeding into me all day and I had described it to Eilena as feeling like electricity flowing through my veins, along with a vague feeling of being untouchable.
Third Addendum: Eilena cleansed herself right after coming out of the wards, so if a link was established, it was broken when she cleansed it. Results of this are unknown until further testing is done.
The ecosystem I created requires a lot of energy to sustain, but I charge it during my showers and it feels great. I worry that the salinity will eventually be low enough to mess with the life that is in the sphere, if a regular beach visit isn’t done. That’s a test for another day.
The shell layer seems very strong, as does the pearl. The octopus was a bit out of nowhere, as I didn’t intend for the life in my ecosystem to attack intruders but rather just be there for fun. I’m glad they double as protectors. The decoys work fairly well, though Eilena and Khnum were able to find me by using my image as a taglock. I think Jelly went for the idea of me rather than focusing on a taglock, to keep things fair.
Conclusion
There are a lot of factors that I didn’t anticipate. For example, I drew an octopus for a focus while creating the ocean layer, but I didn’t anticipate it becoming a guardian. I also didn’t anticipate the queen conch absorbing energy from humans who touch the physical shell. This can, of course, be tweaked if it doesn’t suit the needs of the person utilizing this shield. I, personally, am a fan of this unexpected twist.
The wards are strong and malleable. They are intricate, and versatile. They should stand up to just about anything that is thrown at them.
Thank you to the testers for putting themselves in harm’s way to help with this experiment.
Still hoping to make a bit more money while I’m waiting to hear back from the coffee shop and other places.
3 cards for $5. Extra cards are $.50 cents more a card.
Celtic Spread is $8
Tea reading: $7
Pendulum: 5 yes/no questions for a $1. $0.25 individually.
If you have a certain spread on a subject you would like me to do, they vary by the amount of cards. Though nothing ever goes above $10
Surgery went alright and while I'm still recovering it's been hard trying to work. I'm doing stuff even when I'm in and out of the hospital but I need to get at least $200 to get to pay the vet for my cat's surgery. She's been acting weird the past 2 weeks. I don'twant her to die, I don't have much else left and she is my baby (that's her below). Readings are still being offered to help get the money. If you can't help please share!

❄️❄️❄️Vanish from my Life Freezing Spell (And never involve me in your shit again) ❄️❄️❄️
This was a spell my English teacher shared with me (witches finding other witches lol) to get rid of someone negative from your life without harming them or you.
I’ve done this spell and it seriously gets the person the FUCK out of your life in a way that is not harmful to both parties, it kinda just creates these natural barriers between interacting with one another 💯💯✌️😌
There are two methods:
You will need
✂️A ziplock bag
✂️Water (or other, explained below)
✂️A piece of paper
✂️red ribbon
✂️Red pen
✂️1 white or black candle
✂️Half a lemon (optional)
✂️Scissors
💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤💔
-Start by taking the red ribbon and tying it on the candle,
one knot is fine you will be undoing it later while the candle is lit so make it easy to unknot, this represents how this person is currently tied to you, the “bind”
-Light the candle
-Set a paper in front of the candle
Fold the paper in half and open
On one fold write down the person you never wanna see again, and on the other fold write your name both in red ink.
-Take the scissors and cut the paper in half so now there are two separate sheets one with your name and one with theirs.
-Take the lemon and squeeze some juice on their name, this is to make the bins go sour
-Untie the ribbon from the candle and imagine the ties between you breaking
Take the red ribbon and rub across their name counter clockwise three times and recite
💔
“I banish you from my life
You’re actions and words no longer reach me
Begone! Begone! Begone!”
💔
Or whatever you want idk get poetic with it
-Fill a ziplock bag with water and place their name in the bag. You can get more hexy/ curse-y here by adding ingredients of what you would like to happen to them, like vinegar or rotten fruit, stuff like that
If you simply want them out of your life just use water
-Now go to your freezer and put the bag inside it to let it freeze
-Close the fridge and blow out candle
❄️⛄️❄️⛄️❄️⛄️❄️⛄️❄️⛄️❄️⛄️❄️⛄️❄️
For as long as you have that bag frozen they will not be able to enter your life
💔🖤💔🖤💔2ND VARIATION💔🖤💔🖤💔 For my sea witches~~
Yup this involves the oceannnnnn🌊🌊🌊
Everything is the same except there is no ziplock bag part. After having rubbed the name with the ribbon you will then go to 💧TWO DIFFERENT NATURAL WATER SOURCES WITH TWO DIFFERENT CURRENTS. 💧br /> So a river, the beach, a pond as long as these two bodies of water have different currents
You can use a more biodegradable paper, or substitute a different material other than paper, I am going to continue using paper as an example here, but I would definitely recommend using something environmentally friendly, such as writing the names on two different rocks, or shells, or leaf 🌊You will toss your paper name in one body of water, and toss their name in the other body of water
For example I live in New York, so I tossed one at the Hudson River and one at Coney Island while technically they are the same body of water, the currents were different
🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
As you toss them say
“Let our paths never cross as these currents never meet”
🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
And as long as the ocean doesn’t fuck you over you good
Sever the Ties Spell ✂
This spell is meant to unbind you from a person, place, or situation.
Ingredients & Items:
Two chime candles (one to represent yourself, one to represent the thing you’re trying to separate yourself from)
Candle holders for your chime candles
A carving tool
String (long enough to tie the two candles together)
Lighter
Basic fire safety knowledge
Instructions:
Carve your name into one of the candles, and something to represent the target or situation in the other candle
Tie one end of the string to one candle, and the other end to the other candle, leaving a few inches between each one
Place the candles in their designated candle holders
Light the candles
As each candle burns down, it should also burn the piece of string along with it - this represents the separation of yourself and the situation or person you want to be rid of
Meditate on your intent as this happens
Once the candles have severed the string, the spell is complete and you may extinguish the flames
Please be wary that embers may drop from the string as it burns, so you may want to do this outside or on a fire-safe surface. In other words, don’t perform this spell on your favorite altar cloth.
[Book Review] Urban Magick by Diana Rajchel
Most witchcraft-related books focus on rural areas. These authors seem to operate under the assumption that the reader lives in the countryside or the suburbs.
In other words, there’s a dearth of instructional material for those of us who practice in cities. The techniques you see in more general occult texts can be adapted to urban living, of course.
But, very rarely does an author tackle the matter of city witches who wish to incorporate the city into their magic. There’s simply not a lot of published information about working with city spirits as opposed to simply tolerating them.
I currently live in Warsaw, Poland. Just prior to that, I lived in Krakow, and it was there that I performed what I now call the “Krakow Working” on the summer solstice of 2016.
In that rite, I sought a deep connection with the spirit of the city itself. With few resources at my disposal (not many books even acknowledge that cities have spirits), a lot of it was improvisation, but it remains one of my most potent workings to this day.
Afterwards, I still wished I could find more material on city spirits, and serendipity (well, Netgalley, anyways) led me to Diana Rajchel’s upcoming work on this very subject.
Diana Rajchel wrote Urban Magick for city witches like me. This book focuses on working with, rather than against, the complex metaphysical currents of the modern urban landscape.
It gives a great deal of attention to the spirits that dwell within our cities. I’d argue that it’s primarily a book for spiritworkers, albeit in an urban context.
If you’ve no experience working with spirits, you might want to hold off on picking up this book. Instead, start with some more general books to get the basics.
If you’re in an urban area, and are at least somewhat familiar with notions of genius loci, devas, and other such critters, though, this book will definitely be a welcome addition to your shelf.
Rajchel devotes quite a few pages to workings for justice, community-building, and plenty of other altruistic motives. She clearly recognizes that part of city life involves sharing our energetic space with our fellow humans.
Rajchel shows that spiritwork can and should be conducive to a harmonious existence amongst other city-dwellers.
Her book is one of several published recently which discusses workings for communal justice and equity. In our increasingly polarized world, this seems particularly timely and will likely inspire many magical activists.
I have to give this book five out of five stars, for its erudite and timely tackling of an oft-ignored topic in witchcraft and magical practice.
I think it’s just wonderful to read, and I await further books from this author. This is the book that I’d wished for when I was performing the Krakow Working, and will definitely inspire future generations of city witches.
Diana Rajchel’s book, Urban Magick will release on March 8th, 2020. You can preorder it via Amazon here, or directly from the publisher, here.
Lineage Aid: A Hedge Witch Meditation
@wildoakwitch You were recently talking about feeling a need to get closer to your ancestors. I hope this might help. It’s a chapter from my Hedge meditations book I am trying to write.
Our ancestors can come in many forms. There is a line of creation, of people who came before us that we can learn from, that have influenced us. These people can be blood relatives, or they can be those who have taken your path before you, either your spiritual path, a career path or an artistic journey. Once you’ve crossed over, through the tunnel and to your sacred space, take a moment in this safe space to understand who you wish to see today. What advice are you looking for and which of these paths is troubling you at the moment? Who do you think might be able to help you?
You don’t necessarily need to come up with a specific face or name just yet. But having an idea of which type of lineage you’ll be searching for will help your guardian familiar. You might meet a great master of magic or a simple artist who has tried your artform in the past with their own level of success or lack thereof. Maybe you will be meeting a blood relative to learn more about your heritage and a deeper understanding of your own family. We may be different people but there is a string of influence that goes straight to ourselves, a camaraderie, a sense of belonging to this mass of individuals enacting similar strategies to a common goal. We will be taping into their knowledge and their motivation to see the line continue to grow and prosper.
Ask your familiar to come to you. Once you two have talked a bit, ask them to lead you to your lineage ancestor. Your guardian and the timing of your request will bring about which spirit will be available for a chat. Keep the path at your feet, put a hand to your familiar and feel their fur or feathers beneath your fingers. Stay grounded to this reality. Watch them for cues. We are going deeper into the astral than we ever have before, and crossing into others’ lines now. This is part of the collective, we are stretching outward into territory not our own. We seem to just be going deeper into the forest but the plants are changing, the trees are becoming more diverse. Pay attention to the changes, the details around you. Let yourself be surprised.
There is a little area to sit ahead. Someone is waiting for you. As they turn to you, let your eyes unfocus and come back to focus on them. Take in their details slowly. Focus on how they make you feel, how their energy surrounds their presence, and the details will slowly take root. Then you can focus on their dress and what time period it reminds you of. Spend some time getting to know who they are. What advice do they have for you? Have they been waiting for you? What are their hopes for you?
When the time comes, thank this spirit for their time. Ask your familiar to guide you back home. Unwind in your sacred space, ground and center again. This is the space of your own, and it should remind you of who you are, without any attachments to others. Come back to yourself, before analyzing the influence others may have on you. Come back through the tunnel, into the harsher reality of the forest next door. Then come back into your own body.
Eating some food may be necessary to really get back to your body. Take it easy and slow. The meaning of your meeting may come to you slowly. Allow the meditation to follow you and don’t feel rushed to fully understand what you just saw.
