Mouthwashing & Obsession
So I dont know if anyone else sees the vision, but first let me just say Bear really parallels Jimmy.
All jokes aside, its funny how like both depictions of a guy you think is normal at first who you follow, slowly shows how horrible of a person they are and both end up leading to some form of controversy when being discussed. Like they both are the worst parts of not just men but humans, the idea that someone is willing to hurt someone else to chase their own pleasure. The selfish nature of not caring about anyone else around them, and only for themselves, yet dont understand how no one can see how "nice" they are. This not only hurts the girl (Anya/Nikki), but also results in the death of those around them (Swansea, Daisuke/Ian, Sarah). Yes the two stories are different, and so are the cases of SA, but at the same time they are both selfish cowardly assholes who cant bear the responsibility for their actions. Like Jimmy essentially kills himself unable to bear the fact that he was the reason everyone on the ship suffered, we're stranded, turned to mouthwashing, and either is harmed/killed. Bear (funny that thats his name since bot to long ago there was an argument of man vs bear debate of who someone would rather run jnto in the forest) had taken the pills, was going to throw them up, but only stopped due to Nikkis wish. Only once he dies does she come to finally being in control of her body and autonomy.
Nikki for me is also like paralleled in Curly and Anya, because I think personally that she was a passenger in her own body in the movie, she was fighting for control but lost for the most part. Vaguely similar to how Curly is also perfectly away but unable to move or change anything around him. And with Anya they both have to always be around the guy that has forced them into a horrible position. Yknow they both did horrible things, Anya killing herself and Nikki killing her two friends. Its jusy such a tragic tale for these two girl.
