Happy October!
//Hello everyone who's still around! My life has been nuts but it's settling down a tad so I'm going to try and slowly come back here to rp. I'll probably be a bit selective over which threads I do but I'd love to talk to everyone, old and new!//
[blows a kiss to the lake] for jason
Having struck a successful blow, Jason pulled his machete back and brought it to his mask. He knew the color of blood. Even his own blood was a deep red shade..but this? It was black and thick, nothing like any blood the large killer had drawn before.
As curious as it was he knew he couldn’t linger on it for long. The officer was still alive, surprisingly, so he was still a threat. Jason raised his favored weapon for another strike, only stopping when a small figure rounded the corner and caught his eye. A little girl. Why was she here? Hadn’t the adults taken the children away? The masked man cocked his head to the side curiously as he stared the little girl down.
The footsteps headed off in the opposite direction, leading Jason after them with a strong intent to kill. They were clearly causing Maggie distress which was something the large man didn’t appreciate. He didn’t know who these people were or what they wanted but he knew what he wanted..and he wanted them gone.
Following the sound of their feet crunching through the piles of dead leaves on the forest floor, a new sound filled Jason with nothing but a sense of satisfaction. He heard a scream of pain. It wasn’t Maggie’s, he knew that for a fact, so it must have been one of the intruders falling into one of his many traps. Judging by where it was coming from, the masked man assumed someone had fallen into the pit he’d dug and filled with sharpened fence posts and barbed wire. A slow, painful way to die from the sounds of it.
He had yet to see any of the intruders and he had no idea how many of them were here. They were much better at hiding than anyone else he’d encountered in these woods..which made him feel something akin to unease. They could be anywhere..

He grunted as he was knocked to the ground by the officer. The two grappled, Jason on his back with his attacker on top most likely trying to keep the machete from connecting with his flesh. A heavy huff left the masked man as he lifted a leg, kicked the other man off and swung at him with the blade again in one quick motion. He was growing irritated and beyond tired of the back and forth fight.
Jason shuffled back to his feet and went after the intruding officer once more. He heard the girl’s voice again but decided to ignore it. She was getting closer and, while Jason didn’t want to hurt the girl, he wanted to end his fight with the other man before she arrived.
His machete swung down hard, on his way to connecting with the other’s shoulder.
Even the sight of the gun being drawn on him did nothing to make the large man flinch. He knew pain, he had been injured countless times before, but without the fear of death the threat of pain did little to deter him. Not that he enjoyed the pain, never, but it was simply a part of his life he had come to expect when clearing intruders off of his land and it seemed this time would be no exception.
At least until the other man lowered his weapon and started to speak.
Jason could count on one hand the amount of times someone had tried to speak with him words other than pleas for their lives. It wasn’t often that the intruders thought to try and reason or communicate with the hulking masked man. No, all they saw was a faceless monster hell-bent on destroying them. And, while they weren’t completely wrong, they weren’t totally correct either. Jason had never considered himself a monster, nor had his mother. He was simply..different. His differences had caused him grief his whole life apart from the time spent with his mother who considered him special instead of “wrong”.
Now this man, this trespasser, was attempting his own version of bargaining or communicating with him. It was odd to say the least. Expression his curiosity Jason tilted his head ever so slightly to the right. His own weapon remained held out in a threatening position though he didn’t advance on the light-eyed man. Be it the other’s words or the icy chill of the wind keeping him from his normal reaction to simply rid his land of this intruder, it was difficult for even Jason to tell.
She had spoken in his mind several times before so it wasn’t new, but Jason could hear and feel the urgency in her words. The intruders weren’t campers or hikers, they weren’t curious teens. They were dangerous.
Jason let out a low, protesting huff as Maggie started out the door. He didn’t want to let her leave, he didn’t want someone to hurt her. Why wouldn't she let him help? They both knew he couldn’t be killed so why was she confining him to the shack? He huffed again and followed his small companion to the doorway, only stopping when she finally closed the door behind her, making it quite clear that she wanted him to stay put.
The masked man waited silently, mismatched eyes focusing on the closed door for several minutes before he made the decision to go against Maggie’s wishes. She was his friend, his family..all he had. There was no way that he was going to let someone take her away from him. Not like his mother..no. He wouldn’t let that happen ever again.
Machete brandished and murder on his mind, Jason opened the door and stalked out of the shack towards the sounds of footsteps he had heard before. Maggie was already out of his sight but he knew he could find her. He knew these woods better than anyone..hopefully the people who came would fall into a few of the traps he had set up to slow people down.
Jason moved out of the way not a second too soon, narrowly avoiding the head-butt that would have assuredly hurt and/or cracked his mask. Neither of which an option he saw as viable. Once the officer was down the Crystal Lake killer retrieved his dropped weapon and brandished it once more. He swung it quick and hard, slashing at his downed opponent in hopes of completely incapacitating him..or taking him out. Either one worked.
But the sound of a small girl’s desperate cry caught his attention and pulled him away from the fight. It was one of the campers calling out for her father. Surely her parent wasn’t around. None of the counselors looked old enough to have a child, at least not an older one. Maybe she was just scared and calling out for her father in an attempt to quell her fear?
Or maybe her father was here..

//There's an ice storm here today which is amazing since I live in Texas. But that means the local school ISDs have closed so I don't have to go in to work today or tomorrow! Yay! I'll have time to get on my replies on this blog and my others so please be patient a little longer. Thank you!//
The attack was successful. His machete flew a few feet away, leaving Jason wordlessly frowning behind his dingy mask. This officer clearly wasn’t normal. He wasn’t frightened or nervous, instead he was careful and seemed quite..defensive. Not just for himself but for the campers and counselors. His mother had taught him that police officers were supposed to protect the innocent, but this seemed different.
Personal.
Jason decided not to linger on it. He was in the middle of a fight. Not a fight for his life of course, he could never seem to lose that..no matte how hard he tried. But he didn’t want anymore pain than necessary and still wanted the intruders out. The large man charged the officer with surprising speed and slammed into him. Hard. He hoped to knock him to the ground hard enough to render him stunned for a moment, long enough for him to retrieve his machete and end the fight quickly.
As far as he knew his presence was still unknown. The intruder never turned his way, never acknowledged him in any way. Jason knew he could be stealthy but he had a feeling the other man knew he was being followed. He didn’t seem nervous or on edge like the rest of them. He seemed..different.
The masked man came to a halt behind the dark haired man as he stopped and decided it was time to reveal himself. Though, for a reason unknown to himself, he didn’t want to kill him right there. His mother’s voice had been absent, silent, something it never was when other people were around. There was something unusual about this one, enough so that Pamela had yet to instruct her beloved son to take him out.
There was no evidence of a body, not with the thick blanket of snow covering the forest floor. The local police had already investigated, albeit hastily, and decided it was too risky to stay and look for more information. They knew who had killed the unsuspecting camper and they knew not to stay in his territory for any longer than they needed to.
Nonverbal as always, Jason let out a low, heavy breath, a plume of smoke coming from his dingy mask. It was enough sound to be heard in the cold, white silence. He wanted the man to see him, to turn around and spy the infamous Crystal Lake killer standing just feet behind him.
He wanted the man to know he was trespassing.
