The Life-Changing Magic of Being a Woman Who Doesn’t Care About Tidying Up
I was hanging out with two dudes last night, and I made some joke about “sparking joy.” They gave me blank stares. Neither of them had heard of Marie Kondo. It was then that I realized ONLY the women in my life are talking about this book. Whether we’ve read the book or not, the openly feminist, DGAFing badass women I hang out with now share a common language about the existential benefits of housecleaning*. Oh fuuuck that is so gross. Somehow I’d assumed that the men I know were also using “Kondo” as a verb, too. Of course they aren’t. I almost rage-barfed on the bar.
You know what would really spark joy? If the dudes in my life, not just the women, were actively discussing the deep meaning of cleaning. And the women were all reading something called The Life-Changing Magic of Letting Men Do the Tidying Up. They can start with my rage-barf.
* yeah yeah, i know it’s mostly about reducing clutter but doesn’t it all fall into the same general category?
this is aboveignorance so y'all know. killin it too.
On repeat
in conclusion:
this shouldn't hurt so much.
