It had been a while since…
Clear had sat with company.
Of course it seemed the most opportune moment, what with the boy sitting there alone and all. Most would make a hasty remark or shy away from such an appearance, but the boy’s curiosity was also expected. The questions weren’t anything too personal, of course, Clear was happy to reply—
"My mask? Ah—”
It seemed sort of.. difficult to really explain. Excuses, and overall lying, wasn’t something Clear would be at all happy about. The android was honest and truthful, each and every word to befall from lips was said with absolute accuracy and meaning. Of course he wouldn’t just suddenly blurt out his life story, but instead does he give a shrug of the shoulders. "Is there something wrong with my mask?" —Of course he wasn’t accusing the blonde of anything, but rather, it seemed easier to retort back with a question of his own. Gloved hands would clasp together, however, obvious glee shown through the robot’s tone alone.
"Ah! You made this by yourself then? It was so good!"
Thankfully, Gas Mask did not appear to be angry with him. His
tone was light-hearted enough, and that apart from body language
was all Armin could go with, as he could not see an inch of his face.
It was somewhat difficult to gauge and see whether or not he was
stepping a toe out of LINE—he did not wish to anger one of the few
people who didn't loathe him or simply ignore him.
Thus, the boy wrung his hands and shook his head wildly
at Gas Mask's question. He did his best to reply without
tripping over his tongue.
❛ Oh, uh, not at all! It's just...different, I guess? I haven't
seen anyone wearing masks...except in books, I guess.
I was—just wondering. That's all. ❜
Gas Mask's query considering his lunch, a change in conversation,
was something he was more comfortable with. But with the question
came memories he would rather not dwell on. Nevertheless, Armin
went ahead and answered him. Quid pro quo.
❛ T-Thanks. Uh, I get up earlier in the morning lately so
my mom can't make it for me. It's fun, putting everything
together. I don't mind it much. My grandpa helps me
sometimes, too, if he's up. ❜
( ...It had been a while since he had talked this much. )
