amma really just  …  reeks about 90% of the time, as the pig farm is where she spends the majority of her hours if she isn’t in the woods. obviously, she’ll clean up prior to parties, but something nasty still lingers. like let’s not forget how she, quite literally got down on her tummy to uh, try and feed from the sow like the piglets.

the piglets in the stall were swarming over the sow like ants on a glob of jelly. the nipples were fought over, bouncing in and out of mouths, jiggling tautly like rubber. the sow’s eyes rolled up into her head. Amma sat down cross-legged and gazed, fascinated. After five minutes she was in the same position, now smiling and squirming. I had to leave. I walked, first slowly, then broke into a scramble to my car. Door shut, radio blasting, warm bourbon stinging my throat, I drove away from THE STINK and sound

My country of Cuba is going through pure hardships right now. All added to many years of pure hell. Thousands are taking the streets demanding the end of a dictatorship that has manipulated and suffocated its people. Images of citizens getting their faces broken by police are emerging. Citizens being abused and threatened because they are fighting for their freedom. I hope there comes a day where Cuba is truly for the people and by the people rather than held under a vicious dictatorship.  I want to visit the country I was born in. I want them safe and healthy.

These past few days have been hard to witness and swallow. Mainly when you remember everything your own family had to endure and be put through just to have a piece of freedom.
