Some time had passed since the two of them went down into places they shouldnât have gone, and still their parents were giving them vague answers. Right now, Jean was more than happy to be situated in the otherâs room, staring across at him while they continued to wait. âWell⌠Iâm getting really bored. Itâs sort of ridiculous that theyâre even taking this long?â This was still better than being in that dreadful âbasement,â where all those strange things were, but more importantly those disturbing creatures. She didnât want to go back there, not really, but there was some part of her that craved that kind of excitement. It was so much different than what they were used to, being dragged around on each of their respected parentâs missions; Doing nothing but hanging around, and playing whatever limited games they could in a space station that was extremely far from Earth.    âI donât like being kept in the dark, like this⌠And I donât care if theyâve said itâs âalrightâ. They have to be lying to us, right? But why? We can handle whatever it is. We just saw it! I want to know moreâŚâ | @hermesinconverse |
âYea, tell me about it,â Peter said, collapsing back onto his bed with a heavy sigh. âItâs bad enough that they had to lecture us, but now theyâre treating us like little kids. Like...come on, we saw the thing! Isnât it worse not knowing?â
He was, unfortunately, used to his father playing the stern disciplinarian. Which basically meant he could pull the âbecause I said soâ bullshit until Peter was eighteen. With another sigh, the boy sat up and glanced over at Jean. âWe canât even leave, with David out there. This blows.â
Slumped over at the edge of the bed, Peter fell silent for a time. It wasnât long, however, before a sly smile crept onto his face. âUnless...you wanna try sneaking out?â
