Trish Walker: I have an idea. It's very uncool. It's not illegal, technically, but it is a dick move.
Jessica Jones: I love it.

Trish Walker is going to be a superhero and she is going to be the happiest superhero ever. Like everyone else is so reluctant about putting on a costume and fighting crime, but she is gonna do it with the biggest smile on her face.

AT THE IMPACT his lungs turn to bellows, his breathing turns to gasping; the air drawn out from his mouth in a broken wheeze that rattles Clint’s now-fractured ribs. The pain itself in unescapable, falling always feels a lot like flying until you hit the ground. He closes his eye && tries to siphon oxygen back through his chest. Mostly it sounds like groaning. He’s really not in the state of mind nor body to notice the woman he’d almost landed on top of.
it’s telling that trish’s first instinct is to find SAFETY in someone else’s weakness. it’s years of training, && decades of craving a security absent for her own timidity. that compulsion is not for fun; she takes no sick pleasure in the weaknesses of others ( she is not him ) - but trish walker has been hurt one too many times not to look. just in case.
the man’s breath is a death-rattle; at the very least, he has bruised ribs. an easy ESCAPE is hers - if she needs it. but trish is - has always been - built more of compassion than caution. her pants leg catches the slush as she kneels slow, gloved hands hovering.
❝ hey, are you alright? can i call you an ambulance? ❞
another starter call!
“The earth is such a voluminous, sparse, wild place that has its own rhythm that human beings try to control and strategize our way around, but the truth is, if you’re out someplace like the ocean on a capsized boat, it doesn’t matter if you have academic degrees, or if you’re a martial-arts ninja. Nature is a bigger force than you.” - Rachael Taylor (x)
@hawkseyes.
heels scrape icy pavement as the work-safe tarpaulin above the sidewalk bulges with an unanticipated whump. trish back-steps on unsteady feet, fingers curling & arms tensing in ( UNCONSCIOUS ) preparation. the scaffolding SCREECHES over guttural groans as it scrambles to support the extra weight. the moment she spends speechless & stationary drags, ends slowly with the rip of fabric and the birth of a bruised and battered man onto the pavement.
❝ oh, shit. ❞
what more do you want?
to save the world, of course.
@profanemouth.
❝ do you think you’ll get back out there? ❞
- the suggestion breaks a silence imposed by fatigue ( & trish can’t remember the last time jessica’s stayed long enough for them both to get there - for that, she’ll forgive the socked feet making dirt tracks on her coffee table ). it’s as much a curiosity as it is a statement of her own intent, hidden in the swift look cast aside.
lowkey starter call!

okay, something that’s been niggling at me: i get the impression from the bruises etc. that trish already goes out and does some small-time heroing. unless, of course they’re just from training. does it ever get explicitly confirmed or denied?

- I don’t get you. You have money, looks, a radio show, creepy, if not adoring, fans, and you’re a freaking household name. What more do you want? - To save the world, of course.
