Some minor comparisons of HeroSunny and KaiLen.
Not everyone will agree, it’s how I compare and see the characters along with specific Voca artworks.
Kaito and Hero are both Emotionally Repressed Men, Len and Sunny are selectively mute (and autistic) who have difficulties voicing their thoughts and feelings.
Kaito and Hero are selfless big brother types! They care so much for their loved ones. In some works, Kaito is quite the cook himself just like Hero.
There are depictions of Kaito not being straightforward of his own thoughts and feelings, not showing himself at his most vulnerable. What are Kaito and Hero really thinking?
Kaito and Hero have little to no personality.
Kaito and Hero are both hard on themselves.
Len and Sunny are easily embarrassed and flustered in terms of romantic interest.
Both HeroSunny and KaiLen would have a lot of complications regarding romantic feelings, confessing, how awkward it is, and how much time it would take.
I think Hero and Kaito both understand the specific ways Sunny and Len communicate. Attentive, watchful, careful, kind, patient.
Some caution, if you’ve never heard or played OMORI, in my personal opinion the game’s not worth buying for not meeting up specific Kickstarter goals from 2014. The game took 6 years to be released and there is so much lost content and context. It’s regarded as a great game. I love almost the entire main cast, but there’s a lot of things that can’t be overlooked. The content may contradict the whole theme of the game in the best ending you can get. One of the main casts doesn’t have much characterization (lol).
Kickstarter examples: Expanded intro cutscene and extra cutscenes; not met, there’s some that got removed/deleted and I don’t know how many more were removed. Why? Minigames: not enough in the game. Extended side-quests in game, ex; explore the daily lives of 60+ townsfolk: this wasn’t met and the side-quests have no relevancy to the whole theme of the game. OMORI game artbook and walkthrough that will reveal all the game's secrets and include concept work and groundwork: Doesn’t exist. All of these weren’t met despite exceeding the goal.
(I could do a gameplay, if I had the time, of my own because I was somewhat close to seeing all of the content there was in the best ending. Anyways.)
