Simon Cowell/ The Industry
Hi there, a lot of people know the struggle when antis ask about closeting. We give then proof, but it is never enough. This masterpost is made to show people that closeting exists and that pr relationships exist too. You will also see interviews of Simon Cowell himself and other things that has been happened in the music industry for ages. Have a good and instructive time! (This post is not meant for the One Direction fandom only, various artists are being talked about and causes that might include your idol too. )
1. How to dispel gay rumors?
"The most effective way would be for me to create a longterm PR relationship."
This is Simon's former publicist Max who passed away in prison in 2017. This documentary was published in 2002. Simon is the creator of The X Factor. He created One Direction and Fifth Harmony. They all had to (and still have to) follow the rules of these guys and their teams. Max worked for Simon and his artists until at least 2012. (He died in prison 2017.) Guess when all the fake girlfriend stuff started? End 2011/ begin 2012. He basically admit to do what Larries have been saying the whole time.

2. Hiding in the music industry.
“The machine of the hiding is insane and inhumane. It's gonna keep going until somebody who has something to lose stands up and says 'I am gay', somebody big." Please watch the whole video.
---------------------------------------------------
3. How does a label work? Abusive.
"I have NEVER heard of a label who does not sc**w an artist."
"We, the label, don't feel like pushing your records anymore, or we don't feel you're gonna sell, we're not gonna let you go. We'll just kind of put you on the shelf over here and we won't really let you work, but we're not gonna let you leave either."
Please watch the whole video!
---------------------------------------------------
4a. Not being able to escape a contract (Rebecca Ferguson).
Rebecca Ferguson was a contestant around thr same time as One Direction were. She signed a contracts with Syco Music and Epic Records. 1D has the same label. After a while she signed to Colombia Records. Guess with whom 1D was/is signed? Yes.

TwitLonger is the easy way to post more than 140 characters to Twitter
---------------------------------------------------
4 b. 1 Jojo's story.
"Many different lawyers told me that I would never be able to get out of this contract. That I should find a different career." JoJo spent nearly a decade fighting her record label and won. She couldn't release music anymore because she didn't "legally own her own voice".
4 b. 2 She also went on a hiatus.
Yes, a hiatus for 10 years. Does this sound familiar? 1D? No? Yes. Jojo needed to gain back the right for her OWN voice. She went on a 10 year hiatus, and after her lawyer found a loophole she could leave her label and sign to a new one. She could not sing any songs, because her label had her under their control.
---------------------------------------------------
5. Change of image.
This boy talks about how the label can adapt, change and alter your image. You have no say in this. You can not decide who you want to be as a person. The label does that. Sounds familiar? *cough* cough* Louis, Zayn, Niall, Liam and Harry.
6a. Pr relationships.
As you have read, the label closets the gay person and gives them a fake girlfriend to parade around with. This does not only happen to gay people or people who are married/dating someone from the same gender. This also happens to gain publicity. Here are a few videos about celebs talking about it.
This is from a person who worked in the industry for several years. Her name is @aismadeintheam from twitter.
This is how you promote a pr relationship... this is written by the biggedy secret keepers of Hollywood. Some were editors from In Touch and others were specialized in crisis managment.
B. Austin Mahone about PR relationships: "I think everybody is been doing that for years."
C. Chely Wright and her heterosexual image.
She is the same blond woman in the 2nd video. The guy says "She went to fairly extensive length to paint the image to me that she was man crazy." At 29:57.
7. Being private.
Some of you tend to think it is impossible to hidr everything from the media. That is not true, love. Here gou have Gigi Hadid talking about it. People can hide whole relationships, Larry and Ziam, for example. Now you must think "if she can hide so much, why did Gigis racist video come out?" That has to so with her becoming popular by the views. Bad publicity is still publicity.
"If we're trying to hide it, we just hide it. There's so many ways people can just do shit without any of you finding out." Gigi told the world that it's possible to hide a relationship from fans / paparazzi. At 4:50
8. Homophobia
This part is going to bbe about homophobia and people who confirmed the label abused them. I know I have talked about it in the previous parts, but these are also important, my loves.
A. Lance Bass
"Bottom line is what the record labels look at. They just wanna make money. And if this artist isn't going to pull in this many fans because they are gay, they are not gonna support him this much. And I see that with so many people." Lance Bass.
"It was very torturous because I didn't want people to find out who I truly was. I thought especially in the 90s that if anyone knew I was gay that my life would be over. People would hate me, N’Sync would be over. It was a lot of pressure. You become very lonely."

B. Jonathan Knight
"If you let the world know you are gay you are gonna ruin your career, your managers' career, your label is gonna lose money on record sales. There was so much on my shoulders as kid." Jonathan Knigh.
C. Markus Feehily
Mark Feehily reveals he went into therapy to deal with fear of coming out. "I suppose I became paranoid that press were gonna be after it, I was really scared so I thought the only thing to do here was just to get in the closet, lock the door and swallow the key."
D. Ellen Page
"I felt uninspired and sad. I felt like it was absolutely effecting my work. How are you gonna feel creatively motivated when you feel like you're just living in a way that is not true. A part of me also felt guilty."

9. Pr Extreme; Fake Wedding
A lavender marriage is a male–female mixed marriage, undertaken as a marriage of convenience to conceal the socially stigmatised sexual orientation of one or both partners. The term dates from the early 20th century and is used almost exclusively to characterize certain marriages of public celebrities in the first half of the 20th century, primarily before World War II, when public attitudes made it impossible for a person acknowledging homosexuality to pursue a public career, notably in the Hollywood film industry.
During the early days of Hollywood, a gay actor or actress had to keep their sexual preferences hidden for fear of ruining their careers. To give the appearance of being straight—and often at the insistence of their agents or studio—homosexual entertainers would sometimes marry a person of the opposite sex in what was known as a ‘lavender marriage.’
Link: https://historydaily.org/famous-hollywood-lavender-marriages
Gay stars have been masking their sexuality under the cover of heterosexual relationships since the first days of film. "Lavender marriages," as they were called, began as a response to big studios including "moral clauses" in their stars' contracts. Gay stars picked wives, often actresses and celebrities themselves, in order to hide their sexualities and keep fans lusting after them onscreen.

These marriages were arranged by Hollywood studios between one or more gay, lesbian or bisexual people in order to hide their sexual orientation from the public. They date back to the early 20th century and carried on past the gay liberation movement of the 1960s.
b. Faking a child
Faking a child is impossible according to some people. Well....it is not, love. Please read this carefully.
Jodie Marsh's new documentary uncovers a new way of having a baby, where healthy women are handpicking surrogates so they can keep their fig
Link: https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/celebrities-who-fake-pregnancies-hollywood-6781083
Shocked Jodie was in disbelief as she asked: “So some have used a surrogate then stuffed a pillow up their jumper?”
Dr Sahakian confirmed it as he said: “We are talking about well-known women.
“It would be taboo for them to admit they used a social surrogate. I have had a couple of patients who pretended they were pregnant, yes.”
This goes further, because Sean Combes was not the father of his supposed baby. The woman accused him of being the father. After seeing all of these things, including Gigi Hadid saying that celebrities can do ehatever they want, how is it possible that Sean Combes could not do this privately? How? This is again a tactic to get people to read an article. All of it is fake.
I would like to add Louis Tomlinsons situation in here, but it would not be right. Briana Jungwirth was never even pregnant and we caught her stealing pictures of pregnant women. She also posted 7/8 months pregnancy throwback pictures of herself with a flat stomach. Plus, we all know the truth is going to come out. It will be another attention seeking episode just like Sean Combes'.
10. Contracts are tough.
From the previous parts you can see that people are not allowed to be who they are. Sometimes they are afraid to come out and sometimes they do want to come out but they can not. Here is a very brave message from Lauren.
"Read your contracts. Because of all the contracts I've signed, I can't say a word."
Here is a link of Lauren saying thing about her label and shading them. https://youtu.be/h7GUZbNmV2s
Lauren was a member from 5H. 1D was signed to the same label. Which means they can also not speak about stuff like that. If Louis, Liam, Harry, Zayn and Niall can not tell you that they are gay etc. openly it is NOT because they do not want to come out. They judt can not say it. If they will you know what the label will do. They will shut them up forever, loves. It takes a very brave lion heart to pick up or to wear the sign of the LGBTQ+ community and to show who you are. Louis, Harry and the rest of the boys did that while they are going through hell. Never think they want this, they do not.
---------------------------------------------------
This is it, my dear. This post has got all the proof you need in order to understand what is happening. I hope you have learnt a lot from this, if anything is wrong please just tell me. I will help you. If any of you have further questions, I will gladly answer them, my dears.
Here are a few things I hope you have learnt:
1. Closeting still exists.
2. The label changes the image of a person.
3. Escaping a contract is very difficult.
4. You are stuck if the label does not want you. They own you and you have to wait for years to get your voice back. (That is why 1D is on hiatus)
5. You have to do everything the label says.
6. The Industry is VERY homophobic.
7. Privacy exists in Hollywood. Everything you see is for public purposes.
8. Faking pregnancies and weddings is a normal thing to do.
9. When you are gay or in a gay relationshop, your label puts you in a longterm relationship.
10. Bearding exists.
---------------------------------------------------
This is a very sad post. If you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, always remember that you should NEVER be afraid to hold the hand of the person you are in love with. You are loved, and perhaps you do not know it, but we stand behind you. Always. Gay is okay and so is the whole LGBTQ+ community. You are the color in this dark, empty world. Never forget that, loves.
