So during 1DAAW I decided to finally come off anon and to send the authors of the stories I love messages and into continuation of that I’ve decided to give them reviews in their inboxes. Unfortunately or fortunately some of these tend to be longer that allowed in inboxes and I thought since I started a rec blog they’d do great here, and considering i’ve switch to reading on tumblr anyways as well. So in the spirit of things heres my LONG ASS and completely unnecessary review of Nome De Plume by the amazing Natalie (stylesprime), it was suppose to be just chapter 37 but I got quite carried away.

Okay I guess I should start off by how amazing Nom de Plume is as a whole? I pretty sure it currently one of the most popular Het Fics in the 1D fandom and there is a clear reason for it; its prefect. Like there is absolutely no argument to it. NDP is the best on going fic period. Which okay you’ll find me saying that about a lot of fics so I guess its really one of the best, but it’s also THE best, you get me? Natalie has created a perfect little world in which I want to live it and be a part of and just want it to be real life…
What should I start off with first? Let start off with characters BECAUSE NAT CAME UP WITH SOME AMAZING CHARACTERS.
NDP Harry is so amazing. I get that he’s just one of many versions of “real” Harry and people have come up with but its my favorite. I get that NDP Harry Styles and real life Harry Styles are two different people but I hope RL Harry takes some notes from NPD Harry because he’s just a gem okay. He’s so sweet and kind, and I know sweet and kind can sometimes be the same thing BUT IT’S NOT OKAY, he’s funny and silly and so patient with Leigh where I would’ve just throttled her. I just really want my own personal NDP Harry okay? I want someone who will just come over and dance with me and watch hockey (okay football) with me at 1 in the morning with me and make fun on my heritage and get into some friend and benefits relationship with me because he loves me so much and rather have a little bit of me than none of me. I just want someone to love me the way NDP Harry loves Leigh okay, is that so bad?
But you want to know who I love more that NDP Harry? Cecilia Fucking Wells is who. Even though I want to sometimes throw her across the room for being so dense and pushing people away. I also want to hug her and listen to music with her and laugh at her Canadian ways. I want to eat poutine with her and get her drunk and beat her ass at FIFA and go to a music festive with her and dance like crazy. I don’t know what I want more, t to be Leigh or to be best friends with her? She not only is very likable but HAS SHE GROWN? Lack of character development is something that can tend to loss a story for me but Nat, bow down to her, has shown such strength in Leigh. Compare first chapter Cecilia and 37 Leigh and you’ll tear up a bit, and I love every bit of her.
But if the amazing characters isn’t enough the world that is NDP that Nat has created is so beautiful. Every character has built a world in which I want to be in. Each chapter Nat has posted has been 10k and past(!!!) Her words are so elegant and meaningful and I am so proud and upset that it’ll be ending soon but Nat has created a work of art okay?
Now on to chapter 37, though not my favorite, I’m impartial to chapter 25 and 26 because i’m a masochist and love it when shit hits the fan, but 37 is defiantly close.
First its starts with Leigh and Harry and being just domestic and cute. I could read 200k of just them being together. Half way though it I knew the other shoe was going to drop. There is still so much unresolved. Leigh though has grown remarkably still has a lot more growing to do. She’s a ticking time bomb. She like to keep all the unpleasant thing bottled up and to pretend they didn’t happen instead of facing them, keeping her feelings from Harry, keeping Riley away. Loading to much on her plate, etc. Then she explodes; yelling at Harry, now her mom, etc. She’s still doing it but not facing what’s going on online. In one hand i get it. Her life is literally blew up around her, but at the same time I want to yell at her that she can get through this. Like Harry said she’s a lot stronger than she thinks.
Her blow up with her mom is well needed and I feel like the (hopeful) resolve to it with be a nice way to tie up that story live for the epilogue. There is so much that Leigh has ignored with her mom and her mom with her. Her mom though to Leigh seems to not be happy with how she’s living her live has(i think) been simply worried for her daughter and her further and has maybe voiced that worry in a way that maybe Leigh hasn’t been able to understand.
All in all I’m excited to see what Nat picks to resolve everything with.

Incomplete Full Length Fic
I started reading this story about maybe a month ago? I was looking though the most recent tab on 1DFF and found this gem and I literally have never been so in love with a character so fast. Teneil or Tenny as Harry likes to call her is a perfect mess. Despite finishing college she’s yet to do something with her degree and she is in this constant feeling of being stuck on what to do next. To be a grown up and give up or to maybe use her inner child and go after what she loves, which she still doesn’t quite know how to. As a current community undeclared college student I completely relate, and maybe thats why I love Tenny so much. Or maybe it due to the fact Tenny is half Brazilian and has funky hair. Just like me. But Tenny isn’t the only character I love. I love Harry and his confusion on his feelings which in turn confuses Tenny. I love Niall and his job as comedic relief. I love Willie and his protective role. This story though mostly focuses on just two characters is more than just those to. I’m so excited for the way the author chooses to grow Tenny and how she shows her vulnerabilities in flu light, and if thats not enough usually every chapter or so Tenny will write a blog post with book recs which I have loved thus far! This one is not one to miss

Incomplete Full Length Fic
I first started reading this story about maybe by the time chapter 10 was posted and have been obsessed ever since. These in-the-future post-one direction type of fics are hit and miss, at least for me. But this story hits the mark. The way Courtney has worded this fic sometimes makes me want to cry. The relationships she has built not just between Ash and Harry but between everyone is so complex and simple. It makes me wish she just keeping going and never end. Be ready to cry, shout, feel the pain personally in your heart and maybe even laugh.
