Machine Temple Dyad, 6/6. “In a distant future our machine descendants worship the mathematical principles of nature at temples to gods not yet imagined. The cube, emissary and deliveratrix of intelligence in the cosmos, is held as their most sacred image.”
As the Boolean intersection of two circles produces the familiar vesica piscis pattern, so likewise the intersection of two spheres in space gives us the lens-shaped saucer of contemporary mythos — "a lenticular image of a distant time and place" in Terence McKenna's words. Is the saucerian object a hyperdimensional manifestation of the oversoul of humanity, here to usher in a new hexagonal dispensation as we ascend to the stars? https://superrare.co/artwork-v2/the-lenticular-identity-13799

Some friendly hexagonal cacti for your Wednesday.
A variation on the animation in our last post, this time with an 18-neighbor conditional averaging rule, explained in some depth on Twitter and which I won’t repeat here. Set to a tasteful neural-network-generated soundtrack.

An interesting cellular automaton in a ten-step loop. Discussed in greater depth on Twitter but the upshot is this rule almost always falls into a ten-step loop eventually. Though one time, randomly, it was a 728 step loop. Not sure what the deal was with that. This is the first such loop I found at any rate, and I find it pleasing in its bilateral, chiral symmetry.
Sponge in a box.
Binary one-neighbor looping hexagonal automaton with 30-state tracers.
The hexagonal music of the future. A hexagonal automaton serves as MIDI controller, in this case sending notes to a synthesizer on each purple cell activation.
A self-illuminating perpetual triangle.
A variation on recent cubes, featuring a neighbor-summing rule, mod 12.
Illuminated cubes.
A soothing hour-long ambient cellular automaton featuring celebrating the triumph of BEIGENESS and hexagonality in this and all possible worlds.
