The Mysteries of Jupiter

The latest information shot back from the Juno probe are challenging everything we thought we knew about Jupiter. Of course, the scientific make-up is not exactly what NASA thought, regarding ammonia levels, storm characteristics, core anatomy, etc. More to come later in July, and who knows what we’ll find after that. But beyond that...

When I watch the edited fly-by videos of Jupiter, look at the pictures, see its raging atmosphere... I can’t help but feel I’ve been there. Some past life, millions of years ago, a cosmic being transcending everything I could never understand in this fleshy shell...

I can remember standing on Jupiter’s core, feeling the power of its storms surging around me, sweeping through my body. Feeling the winds tearing at my [body], destroying me, only to revive again inside it’s never-ending rage. Holding my hands out, trying to quell the storm. It only longs for discovery, to feel the presence of the souls that so long ago would dwell in its tempest.  

The faintest of memories, the most fleeting of senses, now I hold the smallest storm of Jupiter inside, longing for its home.
