Raising minimum wage would raise everything else too. It would raise the cost of product production, because the workers cost more to pay, which would raise the amount stores have to pay to stock the products, which would raise the amount you would have to spend to purchase anything. It would raise the cost of food production, which raises the amount companies have to pay for food, which is then packaged and cooked by workers in those companies, that must also be paid more, meaning the food gets another price bump before it;s sent to the stores or restaurants to be prepared or sold. The employees of the restaurant or store must then be paid more to stock or prepare the products, adding yet another price bump to whatever it is you want to buy. So yay, you make $11 an hour, but anything you want to buy with that money costs more anyway, so it literally makes no difference. Minimum wage is minimum wage. Adding more money lowers the value of the dollar, meaning you are no wealthier or monetarily better off than you were before the minimum wage was risen.
Why is this so difficult for people to understand? If you put any sort of effort into logically and critically looking at this idea, you realize how truly stupid, moronic, and wasteful this whole thing really is.
