Today I am remembering Joan Howard Maurer, daughter of Moe & Helen Howard, who passed away one year ago today.

I was lucky enough to meet her at the 2013 Three Stooges Convention. The last photo in this series of photos is of me and my husband with Joan at the hotel the day before the convention.

I remember my husband and I had just arrived at the hotel, after driving over 1,100 miles to go to the convention, and once we had put our stuff in our room, we came back down to the lobby and the first person I saw was Joan!

There were other people talking to her and getting some photos taken with her. I waited, as patiently as I could, until she finally turned around and saw me standing there with my 3 Stooges t-shirt, and she said to me, “Nice shirt!”. 😄

This was my first of two 3 Stooges conventions that I attended. I really wish I could have attended more, but I had the best time and met some wonderful people!

Thanks to Joan and so many other family members and fans of the Stooges for working so hard to keep their legacy going, and for the Stooges family members, and people who worked with them, for being so generous with their fans. I know that the Stooges would be proud! 💜

Moe’s personally owned script for the 1955 short Gypped in the Penthouse.

Moe signed his name on the front of this script, and when I hold it, I think about the fact that he also held this script. So amazing.

Just imagine, this photo was in Moe’s home, personally owned by him! 🥰

I am saddened to find out today that Joan passed away on September 21, 2021.

I want to make a longer post later, but this short video is from the Three Stooges Convention that I attended in 2013, where I was honored to meet Joan and get her autograph.
