I ordered 'waking the tiger' cuz peter levine is like THE somatics guy in many people's eyes & I wanted to know what the hell he's on about. probably pretty basic & boring & fine & maybe a little annoying. probably I won't read it. remember when judith herman's 'trauma & recovery' was the jam on here ? that's actually a rly good & helpful book imo, or I used to think so. I also ordered blandine calais-germain's 'anatomy of breathing' off ebay but they hilariously sent me 'the female pelvis' instead, which I already have a copy of. does anyone want a free copy of 'the female pelvis' ? the drawings are pretty sexy & it opens with a beautiful poem

(doing my ray peat voice) a lot of people are way overdosing their testosterone. I think there is a conception that androgens are needed, or at least are helpful, for many things that can more safely & easily be taken care of by adequate thyroid. even the most virile, most exceptional of male specimens, at the ripe age of, say, 18 — wow, can u even imagine this guy ? 😵 — probably produces only 4-5mg of androgens per day. ultimately a lot of the exogenous testosterone people are using is just being converted to estrogen anyway. trans guys must, ironically, have higher estrogen levels than cis women (who possess their own special, complex system for dealing with the estrogens, which the trans guys simply casts aside). & of course the transgender woman typically has the most of us all
