I stopped using tumblr back in 2017 when I realized it wasn’t meeting my social media needs ):( I still try to live a relatively healthy lifestyle as this blog was set up to share experiences surrounding happy and healthy living. The fangirl lifestyle has never left me, it’s just evolved and shifted through the years. I imagine if I continue to use tumblr its going to be a lot of kpop and BL content with a splash of health/mental health inspired things. You can be allo and be single; it’s allowed. You feeling attraction doesn’t mean your priority NEEDS to be finding romance (it can be! But it also can not).

Being single should be normalized no matter what your romantic/sexual orientation is. It isn’t a tragedy.

niche very opinionated post about counseling vs social work

-I understand that grad school for counselors focuses more on counseling theories, whereas social work you learn more about advocating, managing, like the active actions in the community.

But news fucking flash, counselors do that same job in the work field. I GET why places would want licensed social workers and not licensed counselors- on paper its different work. But the fact that I have worked with both counselors and social workers doing the exact same job when on one hand social workers don't get the same "empathetic, person centered" training that counselors do, but counselors can't then turn around and do a social workers job is ridiculous. I have come across sssssooooooo many social workers who have come off as very abrasive and rude to clients because they haven't had the same practice for therapeutic sessions that you have in grad school.

Im just frustrated because I'm job hunting at the moment and trying to stay away from therapy specific jobs. And there are positions where I have done literally everything the job entails, but they require an LSW. I could still apply for the position even without the education background, but I'm not even licensed in my own field because I realized I didn't want to be. and I wasn't even sure I wanted to stay in the field. I feel like even if I have the background, the fact that the on paper education isn't going to be taken the same.

I'm just frustrated. I don't regret getting my bs in psych in college- but I DID originally go in for a social work bs. I just realized I enjoyed my psych classes/had more psych classes than swk classes and when it became a requirement to sign for a major, I went with psych.... which led me down the path of counseling and human development.
