The String Theory
Act °1: Mood + Motivation The South African community is a diverse amalgamation of cultures, races and traditions. We are all inextricably tied to one another in this syncretic process of ontological evolution. These belief systems, ways of being, and our languages are all in an endless process of informed rebirth, and this is the source of my project. The exploration of the quintessential South African socio-cultural landscape, and how all our beliefs and ways of being inform our collective fabric. For some of us, the concept of a rainbow nation seems slightly out of touch. I would describe us as a fabric, woven with different strings and threads - stretching its hands out just to fold back in on itself; an endless loop. This, to me, feels more like our reality. Beautiful chaos. An organised mess.
