Superdudes or Hi-5 Reincarnated?

Stevie Nicholson’s Superdudes book is now a stage show and there are a few Hi-5 friends who have helped bring it to life.

Allyce Martins, who plays Flutterby, was once the voice of Chats; while Simon McLachlan, who plays Bubble Trouble, previously voiced Jup Jup.

Behind the scenes, Tim Maddren directed the show and Hi-5 composer, Chris Harriott, composed the music for it.

The Superdudes: Pencil Pirate (Nick Rudich, Superdudes illustrator), Flutterby (Allyce Martins, previously voiced Chats), Super Stevie and Bubble Trouble (Simon McLachlan, previously voiced Jup Jup).

Hi-5 Catch-ups

Quite a few original and past members have been getting together lately. It’s great to see that regardless of where they are in the world or how long they’ve been apart, they’re all still part of one big Hi-5 family. Here are just some of the catch-ups we’ve seen:

Farewell Ainsley, Welcome Gabe!

In February this year, Ainsley Melham announced his departure from Hi-5 after three fun-filled years with the group. Ainsley’s replacement is Gabe Brown.

“Just wanted to take a quick moment to thank everyone for an incredible 3 years with Hi-5! To all the Little 5ers out there, you are the best friends we could wish for! Your support, generosity and love is overwhelming! You have turned my world upside down in the best way, and I will always look back on this time with a big smile on my face! Hi-5 House Series 3 is now on Netflix!

The newest series of Hi-5 House is now on Netflix. The series was filmed in early 2015 in Malaysia. This is the final series featuring Stevie Nicholson and Ainsley Melham.

Lachlan Dearing, the newest member of Hi-5. Lachie,18, will be replacing Stevie at the beginning of 2016.

Who is the new Hi-5 cast member?

One of these lucky guys could be the newest member of Hi-5!

Auditions were held in Sydney last month to find a replacement for Stevie, who will be leaving Hi-5 at the end of the year.

Happy Holidays: A New Christmas DVD

A new Hi-5 Christmas DVD will be released this December! 

Joining It’s a Hi-5 Christmas (2003) and Santa Claus is Coming (2009), this will be the first Hi-5 Christmas-themed DVD in six years.

Happy Holidays will be available both online and in-store on December 2nd, 2015.

Hi-5 Cast Crossover: Australia and Philippines

The Aussie cast were recently in the Philippines to perform a few mall shows and promote their upcoming December House of Dreams concerts in Manila. While they were there, they caught up with the new Hi-5 Philippines cast.

Hi-5 Cast Crossover: Australia and USA

The original Australian and USA cast members together with creator Helena Harris and composer Chris Harriott. 

The American version of Hi-5 began in 2003, lasting until 2007, and was filmed in Sydney in the same studio as the Australian version.

Hi-5 + Disney

It seems that some of our Hi-5 friends are fans of Disney!

Here we have Casey singing ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid, Fely singing “When Will My Life Begin” from Tangled, and Lauren singing “Love is an Open Door” from Frozen.

In 2015, Sun played the part of Sunny in Matthew Lee Robinson's musical 'Happy People'. Ironically, the musical is about life in a children's band and Matthew got the idea for it while watching Hi-5. This is a video of Sun performing 'Easy for You' with Bobby Fox.
