This is a blog to the The Living Tombstone fan comic called Hibernation created by AlirenTheSpiderfrog. Everything related to it will be posted here, including the pages of the comic.
What is it about?
Basically after the events of Be Alone, except that the bad guys capture zero_one and hack his mind, creating a new version of him, that obeys them.

I feel like if I'll be trying to keep this project nonchalant and mysterious I'll never get the idea out, and that I'll burn out before I'll even make the final product. I think that I'll be posting more bs from now on, BUT I'll still be trying to make the comic linear, so until it comes out, I'll flag each post with spoilers in case that some people still want to be surprised.
This blog seems neglected rn, but don't worry, I'm still thinking about it. I'm focusing on finishing 01 animation, and after that's done, this is my next main project
Hey, I just wanted to rant about a recent frustration that happened recently regarding Hibernation. It's nothing that serious, but it includes a relatively major spoiler, so don't read this if you mind them

Noticed that I sometimes call the hacked version of Zero "Overwrite"? This is him. I plan that eventually he'd separate from zero_one and gain its own body and I grew really fond of this design, but recently I realized that he looks suspiciously familiar to already existing and more popular tombsona oc, .wav
Idk, as I said, it's not that serious, it's just that this design has already grown on me, but I don't like how similar these two are, so I will have to do a redesign. Ye
Heya, here to share some progress. I must apologize for how slowly the progress is going, so far I git only two chapters TwT. But! The story is done, I know all the canon events that will happen. I just want it to have written more specifically, so I can imagine things more easily and spot any potential plot holes before it's too late.
What's standing in the way is also other projects that I'm working on (tlt stuff included) and that I'd like to focus on too.
However, I don't want to come here with empty hands, so I'm introducing...
Rem
The reference sheet is their current design, while the pictures below is their early design. They were originally meant as my tombsona, but they eventually developed into an oc, which means that right now, they are as much me as Yoav is zero_one for example.
Anyway, they will play a role in this story! And so I wanted to share something about them.
Host
They use she/they pronouns. She hasn't been fully written yet, but I imagine her being a quiet daydreamer, someone who has struggles keeping attention or understanding social clues (she can't keep a secret or says inappropriate things without meaning harm). She's the type of person who thinks for a long time and then asks you some stupidest question.
Tombstone essence
Her power differs based on the light level. The darker it is, the more powerful she is! On the light, she often wears a hood to keep at least a little shade on her, she doesn't glow on the light and can't use some of the abilities. However, an ability that she has only on the light is invisibility that she can use on command. Things get a different turn the moment the sun sets over the horizon. In the dark, a tail and wings often appear, her clothes is now glowing with patterns, just like other tombstones. She can make glowing physical illusions (I don't know how to explain it better) of anything that you can dream of and make herself a mask, that when put on, makes you look exactly like whoever you are disguised as. This all disappears the moment a direct light is shined on the illusions though. Her main ability, that isn't affected by light, is dream visiting. She can intrude on anyone's rest, appearing in their dreams, or just simply observing.
Inspiration
I was trying to base them on science-fantasy, a genre of mix between magic and futuristic fiction. They're named after a stage of sleep (also AliRem, HAH (ill kms)). I haven't come up with a purpose yet (other than dreaming, but that's starting to feel lame), but a thing that I haven't mentioned is their assimilation and very surprisingly they meet and bond with their hosts through a dream, often taking forms of inhuman creatures to guide them to the assimilation.
If there's anything that I haven't mentioned, it's because I either forgor, or because it will be revealed in the comic. This won't be the only original tombstone in this comic, more are to come! Thank you for your patience.
