Ira comes running toward Obi, crying loudly. "Daddy! I forgot it was father's day and I didn't get you a gift!"
“It’s alright, dove. Your existence is enough of a gift,” Obi-Wan tried saying soothingly, picking Ira up. “Besides, I don’t need gifts to know you love me. That’s saved for my birthday,” he joked.
hiddenfromtheorder:
Ira looks up at his father. His eyes were pink and tear stained. “…Really?”
Obi-Wan smiled, gently stroking a hand through his hair while keeping him balanced with the other. “Really. Besides, half the time I don’t even know what day it is, let alone that it’s a holiday or something. And holidays only have meaning if you choose to give it one.” He mentally shoved aside the fact that he ignores Father’s Day usually b/c he himself doesn’t have a fatherly figure anymore. “To me, every day is Father’s Day because you exist.”
That apparently worked, because Ira lights up. He hugs Obi around the neck, so happy that he has the best Daddy in the world.

Obi-Wan beamed at the small figure currently hugging him as tight as he could, ignoring the fear and worry that brought him there to begin with for the time being. “Hello, Ira. Have you been well-behaved?”
“Yes, Daddy.” Ira squeezed Obi-Wan as tight as he could. “I thought you weren’t supposed to be home for another two weeks. And what happened to Nanny? Why did she leave when you talked to her?”
hiddenfromtheorder:
Ira looked up, confused. He tilted his head to the side dramatically, letting the confusion show through on his face. “Huh?” The Mister Jedi didn’t make any sense. He always thought the Force was a special power he and a few others had.
“The Force is an energy field energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together,” Mace explained, he had said it a thousand times if he had said it once, but something about telling a child about it always brought out the need to make it sound as amazing as it was. “The Force is what gives a Jedi his power, but he is part of it, not the other way around.”
It was still confusing to Ira, but a glimmer of understanding shone in his eyes. He looked at the wall, trying to understand, and scooted closer to the Jedi. “Then, how come some people can use the Force to move stuff and do things, and others can’t?” His Nanny couldn’t use the Force like or Daddy could.
“Obi-Wan is a great mentor; as wise as Master Yoda, and as powerful as Master Windu.”
He’s beauty and he’s grace.

A kiss? - hiddenfromtheorder
She smiled at the child warmly, kissing him on the forehead. “Of course. We really must manhandle your father into coming around more. That way you could get double the amount.”
pacifistduchessofmandalore:
She was suddenly very glad that she was such a diplomat. “Mandalore doesn’t believe in violence solving anything, and we’re not part of the war. I’ll have to remind your father about that fact.”
Ira looked at her confused. “But... what if the Sepratists attack?” He face twisted into a pout, and tears welled up in his eyes. “I don’t want you to get hurt!”

Satine hugged him back, smiling. Despite knowing that Ira had come to really enjoy her company, it still took her a bit by surprise to have him agree so enthusiastically. It certainly wasn’t unwelcome, though.
Ira couldn’t wipe the grin off his face. “And then when I get old enough to fight with Daddy, we can fight to protect Mandarin!”

pacifistduchessofmandalore:
“That’s generally how it works for many people. Would you like two parents?” Satine asked, thankful for her many skills in diplomacy to not sound a little worried that he’d say no. He was a child, not a bloodthirsty warlord.
Ira grinned and practically jumped into Satine’s arms. “I would love two parents!” He gave her a big hug. “It gets so lonely waiting for Daddy.”

“Daddy Daddy! Here’s my Christmas gift for you. I made super sure the ‘K’ was on it!”

Mace could not help but smile, he could feel the force from the youngling, the desire for more knowledge about it seemed to pour from ever bit of the young child.
He could hardly say no.
“The Force is not something you learn to use as much as the Force is something you learn to let use you. You let it move through you, guide you, and only then can you reach out with it and do things beyond what most would ever even dream.”
Ira looked up, confused. He tilted his head to the side dramatically, letting the confusion show through on his face. “Huh?” The Mister Jedi didn’t make any sense. He always thought the Force was a special power he and a few others had.

Mace smiled at the young child’s eagerness, he remembered when he was that young, desperate to prove himself as a Jedi to all those around him. “Training as a Jedi is no simple task. And these days Jedi are trained more as warriors than as true Jedi,” he replied solemnly. “I also fear you may have the wrong impression as to who we are.”
“But Mister Jedi!” Was that what he heard Daddy call the other Jedi? He couldn’t remember. It started with an ‘m’... “How can I learn if you don’t teach me?”
Ira moved to sit on the floor next to Mace. “I really want to know how to use the Force. Pleeeeeeeeease?”
