Thinking about it in retrospect, it was a bit silly to come to the beach on such a hot day. Regardless the breeze was comforting, it was still too hot for her body’s make up. She’d volunteered to patrol so to give the other’s a day off and enjoy themselves but she apparently didn’t think it all through. With the onsets of exhaustion and weakness, Aeryn left her post with a radio in to inform them as she made her way inside. The coolness didn’t automatically revive her but it was a start. Still a bit dizzy, Aeryn moved to sit in the nearest empty seat but didn’t realize she might’ve been interrupting someone. “I just need to catch my breath, if that’s alright.”

once nicole had gotten her memories back, the fake life had faded into the background, almost forgotten. it had always seemed hollow, like life was drifting by in a haze, a life she couldn’t quite connect with. and when she’d gotten her memories back, she knew why. “yeah, yeah i know…” she nodded gently, fingers dancing over the exposed skin of waverly’s arm. “i was a ranger…not quite a cop.” but close. but she’d signed up with woodshore police force as soon as she’d remembered who she was, and they were grateful to have her. after all, there were certain things going on in town that needed looking in to, though nicole had dedicated most of her time to helping people search for their missing loved ones. 

“You know, I think ranger actually suits you. Those cargo pants and boots... Nah, nevermind. I appreciate being able to see your cute butt.” Waverly smiled with a tease and nudged Nicole. Still she shrugged again and moved her head to look down at their hands intertwining. “It’s kinda scary to think that all of this happened and the idea that anything could still happen is intimidating. Even still, I’m glad you’re here. And I’m glad to be here.”

Beach Festival || Event Open || Charles Xavier && ??

Charles was not a fan of beaches — AT ALL. And he knew his loathing of them had a lot to do with his memory of getting shot on one. Even so, Woodshore was a strange place. If he didn’t TRY to have fun when opportunity presented itself, he knew he was bound to get stuck in a rut. But rather than venture down to the beach where his chair was likely to be a problem, he opted for some of the other places crowded with people. The Maze Aquarium was yet another place he’d yet to visit since his arrival a few months ago and it was turning out to be a fascinating view. The ambiance from the cool colored lights accompanied by low music and the sight of marine life was just what he needed. He was careful not to bump into anyone, but those bright blue eyes of his were glued to each display as if entranced by it all.

Regardless the mixture of his realities, Kronos often found himself in awe of Woodshore. Nothing and everything seemed real. Not only the people and their impossibilities but also the opportunities that resided there. The structure of his entire world shattered at the simple thought Woodshore presented. To survive what he did and come out with simply a sting and green glow on his hand was impossible. And then you come to Woodshore where the impossible is common. It was a strange reality to wrap one’s head around. It also wasn’t his intention not to notice when someone came close enough to cause him to break his thought and look over. “Oh, I apologize.” He said before he moved out of the way. “Looks as if we were both lost in thought.” He smiled with a charismatic tone.

Front Page News

Most days, Karen spent time in her little office at Woodshore Chronicle, editing articles and tracking interesting stories to add to her stash of front page news worthy scoops. Not today, it was too beautiful a day to spend cooped up indoors, so she was out on the street, interviewing people here and there about their thoughts on Woodshore. “Excuse me,” She tapped the person on the shoulder, her smile as polite as ever, “Care to make a comment about our lovely Woodshore?”

For the majority of her time, Ariel had been enjoying the beach. She’d found the waters different than what she was used to but the cool waters always found a way to make her feel comfortable. Today was no different, though the beach was far more crowded than she would’ve liked. With the tap to her shoulder, however, Ariel turned and looked at the stranger with a pleasant but confused look. “Comment? What kind of comment?”

Dorian hadn’t intended to be so hopeful when he’d spoken but it had just came out that way. Although he’d never openly admit it, the rest of the inquisition were like a second family to him. His fingers tapped together as thought about everything they’d been through up until he’d ended up here and a faint hint of a smile began to form on his face. “I can’t say that I don’t blame you for not wanting me to leave. Things would start getting awful dull without my… Oh? Well it’d probably be easier than you’d think, definitely after this.” He turned slightly when he felt the other’s hand on his shoulder and he nodded slightly. It was true that he wasn’t everyone but having one friend was better than being alone. “I know that but you being here is better than nothing. And just how do you plan on doing that, if don’t mind me asking.”

“Maybe for you.” He gave a shrug but smiled as he pulled away from Dorian. He moved to lean against the wall, his hands in front of him, picking at the skin around his nails absentmindedly. “It’s not easy being alone. Going to the Conclave was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. It was meant to ensure peace and instead I became curious, or perhaps stupid.” He lifted his marked hand, the dim glow still there. “I was left to care for my clan outside of it, but not to return, nor take the place I was supposed to.” Still, Kronos smiled at Dorian. “But enough of my sob story. Have you been letting yourself enjoy this place or have you simply been hiding behind your books?”

iden walked through the festival slowly, both hands tucked into the back pockets of her jeans. she’d peaked into the exhibit that the aquarium had set up and found it to be interesting – now, she was just trying to see if there was anything else here that interested in. it was family-oriented, impossible to ignore the fact that it may her think of zay. her daughter was… what, gone in this world? nonexistent? what about del? the thoughts are forced down again, trying to keep herself from drowning in them. “so, what do you want to do? i don’t know that i’m really the ferris wheel type.”

Aeryn wasn’t the type to do well sitting around and letting her thoughts wonder. There was a void she was avoiding, a darkness she resisted for delving into it meant she probably wasn’t coming out of it. Therefore she found ways to keep herself busy, usually to points of exhaustion. She didn’t see much alternative, though. “Honestly? ‘m surprised you’ve managed to keep me away from the bar as much as you have.” She teased but there was definitely truth behind it.

“—yeah, that makes you a weirdo.” she was teasing, because it was bo’s business how she choose to feed. elliot sometimes felt about bad about taking what she needed, but what else was she supposed to do? she fed little and often, doing her best not to actually hurt anyone along the way. that was the best she could do, really. “me? connections?” elliot should her head, scoffing as if the question didn’t hit her deepest nerve. “talking to the wrong succubus.” 

“Ha, ha.” Bo smiled at her tease and looked away as she leaned against the nearest surface, arms crossed over her chest. It had been a right struggle for her for a long time and she was still struggling. Honestly, she found herself missing the other galaxy they were in. It was strange, sure, but her abilities were dimmed substantially. “No connections? That’s a shame.”

their brow furrowed, a frown quickly forming on her lips. there was so much in their life that had changed over the course of the last few months, but she would not have considered the care and concern that she held for her friends, especially for someone like finn, to be one of them. he would always be family to her. it was difficult for rey to see it from his perspective, because she automatically assumed a change like that was bad. “you’re still family to me, finn. i want to be there for you. i’ll always want to be there for you,” she insisted firmly. they could only hope that he would really believe her. “i didn’t think so. but i suppose i am nosy to know if you have any close friends from here.”

“I’m sorry Rey.” He said as he watched their frown form. He could tell they were thrown off. “I didn’t mean to make it sound as if you weren’t family, or that I didn’t think you were.” The ex-trooper’s hands were in his pockets and he looked away from Rey. “...Maybe it’s selfish of me, maybe I’m just stuck in my own head. I just feel like I’ve been replaced. Its not that I don’t think you care or that you don’t consider me family. It’s just... Where I used to be your brother, now I’m a distant cousin. If that makes sense. But maybe that’s too selfish a way to look at it, especially with everything that’s been going on in your life. Maybe that’s the way it should be.”

“oh, thank you!” ella quipped. luckily for the other, ella was petite – it would not take much effort to lift her up. the scientist took her hand, bouncing up to balance on her knee to swipe at the vial. “whew… thanks. i have a feeling if i tried to scale the shelf, it would’ve come down with me,” she said, climbing off of her. 

“Better safe than sorry!” Ariel smiled warmly with a nod for she didn’t at all want to see the other trapped under a shelf. “Did you get everything you needed?” Ready to assist should she need more.

a festival may not have been her usual scene, but that wasn’t going to stop wynonna from taking advantage of it and everything that it had to offer. in this case, that meant having a little too much fun with all of the food vendors that were available –– and later in the day, of course, taking advantage of the booze selection. translation: getting someone else to buy her drinks.  powdered donuts were just a part of that fun. “y’know, it’s not that hot with the beach like, right there,” she shrugged. “or maybe it’s the cold beer.”

Bo hadn’t gotten out too much after they found themselves in another universe mostly because she had to get her feeding back under control. Once that was managed, as best as able, a festival didn’t exactly sound perfect but it would be nice to get lost in the crowd. “The breeze is nice, I’ll admit, but the heat still has it’s ways of prickling the skin.” She gave a shrug at the other’s words but turned her attention to the one that spoke. “I’d blame the cold beer.”

anakin listened to the other male speak, brow furrowed as he attempted to follow the words. not a jedi, apparently – which did make since, considering the destruction that darth sidious had put him at the head of leading. but the man standing in front of him was certainly no sith lord, not tainted with darkness in the same way that he was. “then what are you?” he pressed forward with the line of questioning, remaining mostly focused on that issue. there had hardly been any room for anything between the jedi and sith in his day – one of the many, many flaws that had ultimately contributed to his fall.

Finn had to shrug at his question for he truly didn’t know. “Your guess is as good as mine.” He moved to lean against the nearest wall and crossed his arms over his chest. It was frustrating having to answer these questions for even if he had time to think about them, he didn’t want to. “Why does it matter?”

a huff of air, nearly a laugh, escaped from wynonna and she nodded in agreement. when she had remembered everything up to that point, spiraling had been the only thing that she had known how to do. she’d already lost so much in letting alice be raised by aunt gus, the idea of losing her sister too… it was too much for her to handle, especially alone. but who else would she have turned to, if not her baby sister?

“um, like, i’m pretty sure i accidentally hit on a bad guy from star wars kind of weird.” not that hitting on anyone inappropriate and hot was out of the ballpark for wynonna, but the fact that he shouldn’t have even been real in their world was. speaking of… “also, i’m pretty sure i’m fuck buddies with like, lucifer. i don’t know if it’s like… our devil or another devil. but a devil who is scary good in bed.” she might as well get the lecture out of the way now and lay all her cards out on the table. “but, on the bright side, we are not the only ones equipped to handle crazy here.”

“...Star wars? Lucifer?” She stared in awe at her sister both impressed and uncertain for her. “This is all a bit more bonkers than I was expecting.” Waverly admitted with a bit of an weary stare. “You are a grown woman who is going to do what you’re going to do. But the fact that I was somehow pulled out of whatever situation was behind that door, given multiple perspectives and a second change here at Woodshore means that if you don’t take care of yourself, I will personally beat that adorable ass of yours.” Lecture done.

Beach || Open

Eggsy was fucking psyched. Things had been all doom and gloom with his job and then coming here while setting up a Kingsman location. He hadn’t had time for himself. He really needed some time to fucking relax. So it was time for the beach, especially with a festival going on. Maybe later he would go for some surf, maybe a dip in the water, but right now he was walking through the sand barefoot with a fruity drink in his hand. Today was good. 

Aeryn wasn’t much of a festival person, usually preferred staying indoors where it was comfortable. It was hot, regardless the water not too far away, and she volunteered for a patrol position so others could go and enjoy themselves. The sun was bearing down on them particularly hard that Aeryn found herself a little woozy. Accidentally running into the poor stranger, she was attempting to make her way to the shade and preferably getting some water. Stupid idea to patrol in uniform in such heat. “Sorry.” She managed to get out.

“hey … can i get a boost up?” ella asked. being five foot four, it was a bit difficult for her to reach objects that SOME PEOPLE seemed to like to put on the top shelf. “i just – … i just need that vial up there.” 

Not too tall herself, Ariel looked over at the sound of the other’s voice before she jogged over. Happy to be helpful if she was able, she got on her knee and held her hand out to give her a boost. “Yeah, of course! Ready when you are.”

the brunette chewed the inside of her cheek when bo listed all the things that one missed out on while running. yeah, elliot was aware. the things she was missing that had convinced her to agree to come to woodshore. but she wasn’t going to admit that. not yet, anyways. it seemed they both lingered on thoughts they weren’t comfortable with, she could see the ghost of emotions across the other woman’s face. a hum left elliot’s lips, head tilting. “you feeding okay?” she had no idea if the woman had someone back home she’d fed off, or if she just found strangers when the need arose. 

“As well as I’m able.” Truth be told, it was hard to find willing folks to feed on, plus it wasn’t something she particularly enjoyed still. She missed Dyson and she missed Lauren. Though she never fed off her, she desperately missed Kenzi. “I’m not huge on just taking what I want. I know, strange from one of my kind.” Bo laughed with a shrug. “I don’t let it get too out of hand though. Been in bad positions before and would rather not go through starving again. Lets talk about you, though. Anyone here you’ve maintained a connection with?”

“You might not have to bring them back to her if she ends up show up here sometime in the near future.” Dorian shrugged slightly as he thought about the possibility of the others showing up in Woodshore. If he’d only been waiting for just a week when Kronos had shown up then perhaps it would take a little longer for the others to start popping up. At the mention of Tevinter a soft sigh escaped him and he hesitated before nodding slightly. “Honestly I don’t know. Maybe he had pressing matters to deal with involving the fade or something like that. I had been planning on going back to Tevinter after the breach had been sealed… eventually. But that kind of went out the window when I found myself here.” Although Kronos was right about not being alone anymore Dorian still felt rather alone. Perhaps he was actually missing the others more than he initially thought he had. “I know, it just doesn’t entirely feel that way though. Maybe that one week by myself here made me realize how much I would actually miss everyone after I returned to Tevinter.”

There was a hopefulness in that statement that Kronos tried not to let him feel, yet the more he thought about it, the more he really did want that reality to happen. Dorian obviously needed them, he could see the loneliness in his eyes, but so did Kronos. He’d assembled the team, gotten close with them in ways that he didn’t expect, especially as his once life path to the next Keeper of his clan. Yet the moment the mark was imprinted on his hand, that future was thrown out. Regardless what was to become of him, he’d made a family with his companions and advisors. With the majority of them not here, he understood Dorian’s loneliness. “I don’t know if it means much, but I would’ve attempted to convince you to stay. Not having you around isn’t something I wanted to deal with, selfishly speaking.” He offered Dorian a smile before he patted his friend’s shoulder. “I’m not everyone, but I’ll somehow make up for that week you were alone.”

“No it’s not really but aren’t you supposed to be forgiving?  Isn’t that one of the things that comes with being in the Resistance and one of the good guys,” he said making finger quotes when he said good guys.  “Not to mention how I helped you.”  He shrugged before answering the question.  “Oh nothing much, just your word that you’ll leave me alone.  I want to be able to live my life here without being concerned that you and your friends are watching me or planning to attack.”

“What makes you think you deserve forgiveness?” He asked bitterly, but he shook his head at the other’s statement. “You helped us so you could help yourself. That’s not worthy of forgiveness for the billions you’ve destroyed.” Finn had to bite his tongue as he felt the anger of his life in the first order push through his mind. He could see that desire for praise through Hux’s eyes and the disappointment that ran through him with there wasn’t even so much as a compliment. Yet the severity of his punishments should he reach down and offer a hand to his teammate. His hands were in fists at his sides but he was otherwise calmer than before. “Every moment you’re here, I’ll be on the look out for you. You will never be at peace with me, however I have no plans to attack you in your sleep so as long as you leave those I care for alone, you don’t have anything to worry about with me.” His hand did lift, though and he pointed harshly at him. “I will never forgive you.”
