Iâm at a point in my life where if youâre the slightest bit rude to me or if you make me feel like a worthless piece of shit I will immediately shut you out of my life and Iâm actually very happy Iâve reached this point
Sometimes it feels so good to just sit by yourself, relax and not talk to anyone.

you are not obligated to
be someoneâs counselor and help them with all their problems if its bad for your mental health
be there for someone 24/7
remain friends with someone who emotionally drains you
maintain negative relationships because youâve been close for so long, because youâre related, or anything else
do anything that makes you unhappy or puts your health at risk

Hi i have depression and anxiety do you have any tips for just getting up out of bed in the morning? Bc ive missed like two weeks of school bc i just have no motivation to get up and go
Hey Anon,Â
Finding the motivation to do anythingâlet alone go to schoolâcan be super difficult when you have depression and anxiety. Depression, in particular, has a way of zapping you of energy and enthusiasm, but there are a few things you can do to try to offset it.Â
1. Make a list of everything you can look forward to that day, no matter how small. Maybe theyâre discussing a book you like in English class, or maybe going to geometry means that youâll see your friend/crush/favorite teacher, etc. Maybe you can make plans to grab coffee/lunch/dinner with a friend. Focusing on little positives wonât necessarily change your entire mindset, but it might make your day a wee bit better.
2. Remind yourself of why you want (or need) to go to class in the first place. Whatâs your end goal? Are you taking this class because you need it to get your diploma or to get into your dream college/university? Will this class count towards your college major or help you land your dream career?Â
3. Treat yoâself. Reward yourself whenever youâre able to go to class. If you make it to campus, get yourself a cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate and bring it to your next class. Got through your chem lab? Download a new song. Sat through a history lecture? Check out a fun book from the library (or re-read Harry Potter for the 97th time).Â
4. Remember to take things one day at a timeâor even one hour at a time. Some days you might find the energy to get everything done, but there are other days when you might only get through one class. Thatâs okay. Do as much as you can, but also remember to cut yourself some slack. Take things as they come.Â
5. This goes without saying, but please reach out to a therapist if youâre not in treatment for your depression and anxiety. If you are already seeing someone, maybe you can brainstorm other ways to get motivated during your next session.
You might want to get in touch with mental health services, disability services, or a guidance counselor at your school. They can contact your teachers/professors and might be able to get you extensions on any work that youâve missed or that you need to catch up on. They can also explain to your teachers that youâve missed class because of legitimate medical problems.Â
Also, remember that thereâs no shame in taking time off from school, if you really canât muster the energy to finish the semester. You can take a medical leave and return to school when youâre in a better frame of mind. (True story: I actually took two medical leaves from college because of depression and anxiety. At one point, I couldnât push myself to get to class, and it had gotten nearly impossible to catch up on the work Iâd missed. So if you need to take time off to take care of your mental health, thatâs totally fine. ) <333
I was never good at keeping in touch but you always stayed within my thoughts even if I never expressed them with my mouth.

Donât be flattered that he misses you. He should miss you. Youâre deeply missable. However, heâs still the same person who broke your heart. Remember, the only reason he can miss you is because heâs choosing, every day, not to be with you.
