Because nothing -- not late medbay shifts or terse Insecticon relations or the state of your dying planet that I frequently lie to Impact about -- will keep me from our annual holiday stream!
Watch out, Woojit, it's Owl Awareness Day.
We should all be aware of owls. It won't protect us from them, but that's no reason not to go down fighting.
ranking the best things I have heard surgeons say mid-surgery:
1. "Five second rule!" while scrubbed, after dropping a sterile scalpel on the floor (no they did NOT pick it up again but I swear everyone's buttholes puckered)
2. (spoken during the closing of a particularly long and difficult case) "Nurse - my tunes." :heavy metal starts blasting:
3. Gently to a fretful patient, pre-anaesthesia: "It's going to be okay. I promise, I've dealt with worse." As soon as the patient is unconscious: "This is literally the worst thing I've ever seen."
4. [okay this one was a med student] "Wowwww, that's so gross!!" Reg: "Please remember that [patient] is awake for this procedure." Student to patient: "Oh my god. I am so sorry, that was really unprofessional - " Patient, cheerfully, also engrossed with what's happening inside them on the screen: "Nah - it's, like, super gross, right?"
5. [another procedure where the patient couldn't be put under GA] Patient: *starts singing country roads midway through the procedure* Surgeon: *shrugs and joins in with surprisingly good harmony*
The superb owl will get us one day, I fear.
It doesn't matter what we came from, to pellets we shall return.
IT'S TIME
THE SUPERB OWL IS HERE
Another owl come and gone, another year in which I've managed to survive, but only barely.

A very happy Nestor Mocking Night to us all!

We are live!
Stream's in an hour!
I'd just like to personally thank whichever one of you is responsible for Blades crying like a little girl. My first thought was that someone he knew had died, but no, anonymous humans.
It was like a tap on the shoulder from an old, dear friend.
There was a rumor that you were a gestalt along some other bots outside of Sigma 17, is that true?
It isn't, but I can tell you where it came from! There was another rescue team, a really famous one, that had a copter named Blades on it, and the five of them were able to form a gestalt named Defensor.
...That's about all we had in common, though.
Angry, angry mech.
This guy canonically likes big heavy cars vroom vroom
Another sticker yet again hoho
I can't believe the owl got you, Knocks. How suburb was it?
So superb that I only just managed to claw my way out from the ensuing pellet. The things I've seen have changed me forever.
someone sent a gift of you to the dashcon 2 tumblr, and it made me think of you. I hope you're having a good time wherever you are and whatever you're doing, even if it doesn't involve being on tumblr
A gift for any occasion! I'd send that to someone.
Apologies for the vanishing act, but you know how life gets in the way. You get so pulled into work and fire season and the fact that a certain vocal subset of Velocitronians have created an entire movement calling for your arrest and death...suddenly, you look up and it's been half a year!
But make no mistake, you're never far from my thoughts. Just a week or so ago, as Breakdown and I sat up late discussing our faith in our fellow Cybertronians and how mine was circling the drain, I told him how very glad I was to know that this was still here.
Unless this platform crashes and burns -- or I do -- I've no intention of going anywhere!
I KNOW WE DON’T TALK MUCH THESE DAYS BUT I WANTED YOU TO GET THE NEWS ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU WERE REALLY SUPPORTIVE WHEN THINGS WEREN’T SO GREAT BUT LOOK HOW FAR ME AND MY PARTNER HAVE COME THIS HAPPENED TONIGHT YOU EVER GET SO EXCITED YOU FORGET WHERE THE CAPLOCKS BUTTON IS ‘CAUSE BOY HOWDY I SURE HAVE AAAAAAHHH
That’s phenomenal, Zephra human! Time’s not always especially kind (as the half-melted bots I’ve been tied up in treating this glorious fire season can attest to), but it’s a delight to see how far you’ve come, and to know that such fantastic news is yours to deliver.
Breakdown and Impact send their congratulations to you both, and we all agree that if we were in the vicinity of your ring, we would resist the urge to eat it.
Have you survived the onslaught of the Superb Owl for another year?
No, it carried me off in its talons and I'm currently a pile of regurgitated scrap metal and vole bones at the base of the Superb Tree. Tell my tale to those who ask, but only the good bits.
I know this is going to sound extremely weird, but I felt like you ought to know. I've been a fan of yours (on this blog) for... a while. Like close to ten years. When I had to pick a language to learn in high school, I picked German because you made it sound cool, and it turned out I liked it, and... long story short, my college degree in German Language Studies came through today. I never would have tried studying German without you, and between actually learning the language and being able to travel to Germany it's done a lot for me, and I just wanted to say thanks.
Yes, I find I have that effect on most things I say! The passage of time and what it means for humans is one of those things that will keep me up if I allow it to linger, so suffice it to say, this is one of those updates I'll just be tucking away to keep. Ich gratuliere Ihnen zu Ihrem Abschluss und wünsche Ihnen noch viele schöne Reisen!
