Y'ALL, I FOUND THE MOST AMAZING BOOK APP AND I JUST HAVE TO FUCKING SHARE!!

It's called 'My Library", and it keeps track of all the books, comics, and video games you own. You can mark when you've read them, and also create a wishlist of books!

You can sort all your books by series, your comments, and categories too, if you wanted!

And all you have to do is scan the ISBN number (the barcode), and most of the time it comes up with all the info for the book!!!

And what's even cooler??? Getting to see your top authors, publishers, and genres! Along with how many words and how many books you've read!

Y'all, I am so EXCITED lemma tell you!!! I no longer have to struggle to remember if I have something or not! I'm so stoked to use this! I haven't even finished scanning all of my books yet. This is just from some ones I had lying around, along with one of my shelves!

So I've been trying to come up with a name for my wip. Because naming things can be really hard, and it doesn't have one yet.

And I was listing off a bunch of stuff about roses, and sleeping beauty, and themes, and stuff like that.

And I think I may have an idea?

The idea is "Not Only Petals"

Because a rose isn't only the petals, it also has thorns. It is a pretty flower, but it can also draw blood. And I thought that might be kind of apropos, because the main character's name is Rose, and she more or less decides to take her life into her own hands instead of just doing what she's told.

I'm not sure though. I know I can always change it later if I want to, but...

Can I get a second opinion on it? Is it bad? Is it cheesy? Is it cheesy but in an ok way? Does it sound ok? Like if you say it, are the words nice? Does it make sense? Do I make sense?

🕯️spiritual veiling🕯️

Veiling (or head covering) is a spiritual practice that is found within nearly all world religions! Veiling is the act of covering ones head, partially or fully, with an article of clothing or hanging cloth. The type of veil or head covering varies from faith to faith. Also, everyone has different reasons for veiling. In general, it is a sign of respect to ones deities, to the self, and to the sacredness of the body. Vestal Priestesses of Vesta veiled before their goddess, Yoruba initiates cover their head for spiritual protection, Catholic Nuns veil for spiritual distinction and modesty, etc. Historically, women are more likely to practice veiling but there are many practices where men are also called to cover their heads. Veiling is for anyone and everyone who feels called to practice! 💐🌹

✨ BENEFITS OF VEILING ✨

(Note, this is an amalgamation of different reasons why people veil. Not everyone shares these same benefits or beliefs. This is a generalization!)

DIVINE DEVOTION

The crown of the head is, in many practices, believed to be the center of divine communication. It is the part of our body that is closest to divinity. As a result, many people veil in order to respect the sacredness of this connection. It’s almost as if placing a crown upon our head to symbolize our pure connection with our gods. It can also be a sign of humility and humbleness before divine. Veiling for divine devotion is often worn during rituals or worship but may not be worn for everyday use (this varies). This practice of veiling results in a closer, sanctified bond with our divinity.

SPIRITUAL PROTECTION

Similar to the last point, the head is believed to be sacred. If the head is not protected, the rest of the body may suffer. Emotional empaths may be called to veiling out of a desire to protect their energy from the world around them. Full-body veils can also be worn for this purpose. It offers comfort, peace, and a sense of spiritual protection!

DISTINCTION

For many people, veiling is a way of “wearing their faith”. A clear religious habit (form of clothing) sets you apart from the rest of the world. Not in the sense that you are higher or holier than the world but in the sense that your life is lived in devotion. It is a reminder of the covenant you have made within your spiritual path. It makes your faith visible and tangible. My Muslim sisters often express that wearing their hijab creates a sense of unification and connectedness.

EMPOWERMENT

I’ve noticed a lot of people, especially women, express how empowered they feel when they’re wearing their veils. It can often garner a sense of respect and reverence. Sadly there are spaces where veiling (especially for muslim women) is met with judgement but, even when faced with criticism, it is an empowering practice. It forces the world to view us as more than bodies to be objectified. It adds a sense privacy that demands respect.

SELF AWARENESS

Wearing a veil is a reminder to the world but also to ourselves. When we wear a veil, we are wearing the tradition of our respective beliefs. It is a physical symbol that aligns us with our spiritual practice and reminds us of why we do what we do. I find that I am much more aware of my actions when I am veiling (for rituals and for everyday wear). There’s a sense of responsibility that comes with wearing a veil. It’s highly symbolic and we have to respect its importance.

A BLESSING

For many, it is a reminder that we are forever blessed, protected, and empowered by our spiritual practice! It’s like taking up a mantle of power. For some it’s out of modestly but, for most, it’s an outward sign of the blessed relationship that we have with our respective spiritual paths! ✨✨✨✨ Thank you for stopping by! Louis threw his head back and laughed. “Shut the fuck up, you idiot. I wasn’t going to go anywhere with him. You ever hear of teasing?” Now he reached across and took my watered down drink and sucked it back. “Lighten up, Harry.”

I could feel it rising in me again and before it got to be too much, I turned and walked out, flinging some cash onto the counter as I did. I drug my keys from my pocket and repeatedly jabbed the button that would unlock the car so I could get in and leave when I was there. I didn't expect Louis to follow, but when I was out of the doors, I could hear the soles of his shoes tapping along behind me. “Why do you have to ruin everything, Harry!” Louis yelled, bringing his hands to rest on my back for a split second before he shoved me. I stumbled, barely catching myself on the quarter panel of my car.

“Me?” I whipped around and shoved him off of me. “You did it this time, not me! You could have just denied the drink and sent it back! You drinking basically told him you were interested!” How did that not make sense to him? “What don’t you get about that!”

“A free drink is a free drink no matter where it comes from!” Louis jabbed my chest and I could still see the faint color on his cheeks. “Why are you so uptight! You know, you should really be on your toes, you selfish fuck! Don’t forget, I still have the report on what you did and I can send you back to that fucking place whenever I damn well please!” He was yelling now and standing on his toes so he could see me better. “You’re lucky I’m still here with your psycho, abusive as-”

The sound of the slap I delivered to his cheek shut him up and echoed across the parking lot. Louis’ head whipped to the side and he grabbed his face. I expected to see tears when he turned back around, but there was a fire burning in his eyes that I had never seen. The apology barely wiggled up from my throat before his fist connected with my cheek. My teeth clacked painfully together, nipping the edge of my tongue and filling my mouth with the bitter taste of blood. My head moved, but I stared at him, eyes wide with shock. Even he looked surprised. The two of us stared at one another without saying a word. I don’t know how long we stood there.

Louis was the first to break the silence.

“Harry...” Louis started but I cut him off before he could get any further. Fingers curling into the front of his shirt, I drug him forwards and smashed my mouth against his.
