Every Time The Night Cami and Klaus Met Was Referenced on The Originals
This definitely is one the most referenced events on the show. (Reposting this because I missed a few references last time)
1×02:
Klaus talks to Cami at Rousseau’s about Marcel.
Cami: Right now, I only need good in my life, not someone who's -
Klaus: (talking about himself) Tragically wounded and damaged by demons he can't escape.
1×03:
Klaus and Cami are sitting at the bar counter of Rousseau's after Marcel's party.
Cami: The guy I saw today...not the guy I thought he was. And if he can turn on a dime like that...
Klaus: Sounds like more than just a broken heart. Someone broke your trust. (smiles at her) Camille, the brave bartender.
1×04:
Klaus has the painting they talked about on display at his house, and is staring at it while talking to Cami.
Cami: No offence, but I'm not sure why you've invited me here.
Klaus: (turning) Because I enjoy your company. And because you have the capacity to understand someone of my complexity.
1×22:
Cami comes to Klaus at the Abbatoir balcony to console him over the “loss” of his child.
Klaus: Camille, I appreciate you being here, but we cannot be friends.
Cami: (shaken) What?
Klaus: You had me pegged from the start. A man damaged by his demons and those demons are not dormant; they are hell-bent on killing me, and everything I find beautiful. And you - you are beautiful. Please, just go.
2×22:
At Rousseau’s, Klaus puts a 100-dollar bill on the bar after Cami tells him he should stop compelling the customers whose tips she needs.
Cami: (laughing) When I first got into town, you handed me one of those. If not for that, it would've been someone else standing here right now instead of me.
Klaus: You know, I prefer to see it the other way. If it wasn't that night, this bar, that hundred dollar bill, it would've been Jackson Square, staring at a painting. Or Frenchman Street, listening to jazz. I would have found you.
3×01:
At Cami’s apartment, Klaus is told off by her for being inconsiderate about humans being murdered and putting more weight on his own problems, which wounds him and prompts him to leave.
Klaus: Keep the gift. I painted it for you.
Cami turns around to find a small impressionist painting on her table, depicting her from behind in a street, listening to music, surrounded by artworks, clearly a reference to the night she and Klaus met.
3×08:
The painting Klaus made for Cami referring to the night they met is on display in Jackson Square, as Klaus tries to look for clues for Cami's whereabouts after Aurora has kidnapped her, Lucien in tow.
Klaus: (noticing the painting) I gave this to Camille as a gift. (turns it over to find a felt charm alluding to St. Anne, which hints that he must go to St. Anne's Church).
3×19:
Klaus recreates the night they met inside his mind.
Cami: The painter, the music, the crowd - this is the night we met. You remember every detail. I must have made an impression.
Klaus: You know very well you did.
Cami: (while watching the artist paint) We talked about the artist wanting to control his demons. Do you think he ever did?
Klaus: Some demons will not be tamed.
.…….
Cami: (struggling to breathe, about to die) I wanted to be brave. I wanted to handle this with dignity. (crying) But I can't. I don't wanna go. I'm so scared....
Klaus: (nearly breaking down in the real world but holding it together in the dreamscape) I'm here. I'm here.
Cami: So much for the brave bartender, huh? (laughs sadly) When I said I was ready to die, I was full of it.
3×21:
Before Cami's funeral, Klaus is seen standing in front of the painting they discussed on their first night.
At the end of the episode, after Vincent and co. have destroyed the ancestral plane with Davina's help, the painting is shown next to Cami's tomb, meaning Klaus left instructions for the painting to be kept there when her body was interred.
5×13:
(deleted scene)
Klaus and Caroline are standing in the crowd of the French Quarter, with an artist painting in front of them.
Klaus: When I first came back from Mystic Falls, I met a woman near here and we mused about art.
