Summary: Damon Salvatore is infatuated with your innocence and he wants it for himself.
Warning(s): Lowk corruption kink, Damon being Damon, swearing, sexual content, degradation, praise.
Damon loved the game… the careful thought out plan of capturing his prey in their weakest moments gave him a rush like no other.
He watched you daily, hell, even nightly. The sight of you snuggled into your pretty pink comforter hugging a bunny teddy you got for your 5th birthday like it was your entire world made his skin burn. Your hair splayed out on the pillow, the soft skin of your neck exposed under the moonlight pouring through your window looking oh-so bitable.
He would smirk like the devil watching you squirm and whimper in your sleep, suffering from the dreams he gave you.
He would never cause you harm, no, you were far too sweet, too pretty, too… destined to be his.
So he watched you, learning all your ins and outs. He preyed on you like a wolf would prey on a helpless little lamb but for you, he would play the role of the wolf in sheep’s clothing. He couldn’t bear to scare you away and miss his chance to know what you taste like.
The first time you noticed him was the library, immersed in a cheesy romance novel and not really looking where you were going, you had bumped into him. The books already tucked under your arm had tumbled to the floor and he was quick to help you but the moment you locked eyes you were sure he was the man you were just reading of.
All those unbelievably handsome men in the books you read could never be a reality, you thought.
Books always had impossible beauty standards but he was it.
You were puzzled by his appearance, the bold contrast of his striking blue glare to his almost black hair, his sly mischievous smile, his body, his brooding shadow swallowing you as he handed you your dropped books.
It wasn’t long before he had flirted you into giving him your number, then he was at your door the next morning with your favorite flowers, asking you to coffee.
How had he known all your favorite things? You didn’t know, but you weren’t suspicious. You fell directly into his trap.
It was 11pm, the moon was full that night and you were hunched over your desk trying to study for an incoming test under the soft glow of your lamp light.
You were almost asleep atop the wood desk when you heard the knocking on the window. Only a tap or two which made you question if you heard it at all but when you put your head back down it came more consistent and then you spotted Damon and that goddamn smirk.
You quickly opened it and he begged you to invite him in, you nodded tiredly, rubbing your eyes but he wouldn’t move.
“Damon, you can come in.” You were confused by his hesitation but the moment the invite left your lips he slipped through the window and closed it behind him.
He was wearing all black as per usual and it made him stand out in your mostly pink and white decorated room. The sight made you giggle and he tilted his head like a dog does when it hears a strange noise.
“Something funny, pretty girl?” The humor left you the moment his endearing words reached your ears.
Damon loved to compliment you, it always rendered you silent just like now and he wondered what you were thinking.
You shook your head quickly.
“Hm.” He huffed, eyeing you as he stepped past you to your desk. His woodsy scent filled your nose and you nibbled your bottom lip, how you loved his smell. “Homework?”
“A test, I have a test coming up.” You smiled sheepishly as he picked up the sheet of questions and answers you were studying.
“This looks like a cheat paper, where’d you get it?”
“Mr Sanders gave it to me, he said he’d trade the study material for some of those cookies I like to bake.” You were so sheltered, you really had no idea your teacher was a creep and it wouldn’t just be cookies he asks for next time he does you a ‘favor’.
This wasn’t simple ‘study material’ as you had put it and your teacher knew that, he also knew that you were too innocent to notice the innuendos in this exchange.
Damon’s jaw ticked, anger filling his chest at the mere thought of that slimy prick making a pass at you but he kept it cool… for now. He didn’t want to alarm you and he knew that teacher wouldn’t be a problem anymore the second Damon leaves this house.
He couldn’t let go of the negative feelings, however. Is this jealousy? He wondered. The feeling was foreign and he didn’t like it.
“I’ve got a fun game we can play to help you study.” He spoke, his eyes burning into yours and you immediately nod, willing to do anything he wanted. “The rules are simple, if you get a question right, I kiss you. If you get a question wrong, you strip an item of clothing.”
Your eyes opened wide as a deep shade of crimson crept over your cheeks.
Damon wanted to laugh, the thought of a kiss let alone a strip game had short circuited your pretty little head. He tried hard to hide his smile as you stammered.
“Don’t think so hard, sweetie. Save all that brain power for the quiz.” Damon winked and your heart took off.
He sat in your desk chair and motioned for you to sit on the bed opposite him, you followed his instruction, scared but curious. You had wanted to kiss him but you weren’t sure you were ready yet.
“Mm, American history.” Damon hummed, scanning the questions. He already knew the answers to every question without even looking. “Which treaty officially ended World War I?”
You perked up at the easy question, you were scared he would start with the ones you struggled with.
“The Treaty of Versailles.” You chirped, proud of yourself.
Damon sunk into your desk chair, making himself comfortable as curiosity danced through his eyes.
“Come sit.” He suddenly patted his lap and you stared at him for a moment, a little taken aback.
You had already forgotten the rules, a right answer means a kiss.
You tried to be brave, mustering your courage to stand up on wobbly legs.
“It’s okay.” He cooed, coaxing you closer gently as if you were a frightened animal and when you came within arms reach he pulled you by your waist.
Sitting down in Damon’s lap, you couldn’t help but take him in from this close, his eyes were even more striking than you remembered and you felt hypnotized somehow. His body was hard and toned underneath your touch and you couldn’t ignore the way his smirk made you feel all tingly inside… or maybe it was his lips.
“You remember the rules?” His hand lifts to tuck some hair behind your ear and you swallow thickly, nodding your head as his hand smoothed down to cup your cheek.
You lean into his palm and his eyes fall to your lips, his own slightly opened as he guided you to lean closer. You watch as his atoms apple bobs and he licks his lips like he’s about to eat his favorite meal, goosebumps erupt on your skin.
When your lips finally connect, you understood.
You understood all those romcoms and romance novels and why they’re always sticking their tongues down each other’s throats because for the first time ever, you wanted to do the same thing.
It felt like nothing else, you couldn’t compare it to anything, being so inexperienced. Your stomach was full of butterflies to a point it almost made you sick but you wouldn’t change it for anything.
When he pulls back you’re disappointed, craving more the second you see his soft lips glistening from your kiss.
He of course notices the look in your eye; the begging, the pleading, the yearning within them.
He wants to give you more, so much more, but he has to take this slow so you don’t get spooked.
“In what year was the Declaration of Independence signed?” He continued on, trying to ignore his pretty girl practically begging him.
“1775.” You answered quickly, clearly distracted as you were one year off.
“Wrong, strip.” His command was firm, it didn’t leave room for protest but you still hesitate.
He watched you like a hawk, waiting for you to follow the rules and your heart was pounding in your chest.
You reached down and took off one of your socks, searching Damon’s face for approval and he smirked.
“Tease.” He lightly tapped your outer thigh where his arm was still wrapped around you and it made your stomach turn.
Not in a bad way, in a weird way. A way you hadn’t felt prior to meeting Damon. It was a way that made you want his touch in places you could never imagine touching yourself.
The questions continued and you were on a losing streak, it was as if all your knowledge had just evaporated after he kissed you. You were desperate, taking off your last sock and then your earrings. You were sure you were cheating, it probably didn’t include jewelry but Damon was extremely patient.
“Who was the first president of the United States?” Damon asks, watching you blush as you knew the answer and knew what was coming after it.
“George Washington.” You gulp, your hands gripping the arms of the desk chair to steady yourself.
“Ding, ding, ding.” He sang playfully, that smile sending shivers to places you didn’t care to acknowledge but it made you press your thighs together in his lap, your body clearly craving something you knew Damon had the power to give you.
You decided to be brave, leaning forward and placing a hand on his chest.
“Kiss me.” He whispered, his voice low and rough.
With a hammering heart you lean in and place your lips on his, feeling stupid not knowing what you’re doing but Damon’s hands were in your hair in an instant, holding you there and guiding your lips.
It was just like the first one, he seemed to put you under some kind of spell as your mind went fuzzy and all you could think of was him and how you wanted more.
You felt his hands fall from your hair and move down to your waist where he was suddenly lifting you, you squeaked, amazed at his strength, it was like you weighed nothing. He set you back down, this time with either thigh over his. You were straddling him now and this new position allowed your clothed heat to be flush with the hard bulge beneath his black jeans.
Your skin tingled, the slightest friction beneath your skirt had made you gasp on his lips. He pretended he didn’t notice to not embarrass you, you were new to this.
“You okay?” He pulled back suddenly, your lips disconnecting and you practically whined at the loss.
“Yeah, I- I really like kissing you Damon.” You admitted, your cheeks all rosy as he smiled at you.
“You can kiss me all you want, baby.” He said softly, smoothing a few of your hairs down as you nod. “Let’s keep going, gotta make sure you’re ready for your test.”
The next question you got wrong, it was one of the harder ones and his kisses were making you dumber by the second. You knew there wasn’t much else to take off, you were only wearing a skirt, underwear, a bra and a pretty baby-t.
“Let me.” He snapped you out of your internal monologue as his hands slid up your back, his eyes meeting yours, asking permission.
You nod once, not really sure how to deny him, not that you wanted to but the nerves were eating you alive.
His hands smoothed down your shirt before he grabbed the hem and you breathed out shakily as he started lifting it.
You raised your arms, letting him take it off and when he threw it to the floor, his eyes explored the newly exposed skin.
“Wow.” Was all he said, his eyes falling to your exposed cleavage, he seemed to swallow the lump in his throat, his mouth going dry. “Can I touch you?” You hadn’t expected him to ask such a thing.
You nod regardless, your body burning for his touch, any touch. His hands started at your sides but snaked their way up to your chest, his rough palms smoothing over your stomach, his thumb lightly skimmed over the fabric of your bra where your nipple was underneath and you breathed in sharply.
“This is cute.” He commented, lightly pulling at your bra strap and you blush like a fool. “Do you want me to stop?”
You’ve never shook your head so fast. You leaned into him to drive the point further and he smiled, your cleavage and exposed neck dangerously close to a man who drank blood for a living.
“Tell me where you want me to touch you.” He whispered, the words dripping with lust.
In all 170 years he’s roamed this earth he’s never remembered wanting a woman this badly, if he didn’t have you tonight he’s sure he’d lose himself. He was hard as a fucking rock just having you in his lap like this. He felt pathetic.
“Damon.” You breathe, your stomach twisting with want but you didn’t know how to vocalize such a thing. “I don’t know how to do this.” You shake your head and his eyes soften a bit.
“You’re thinking too hard again… just relax sweet girl, tell me where you need me.” He encouraged, his hands moving to your hips again, the test paper long forgotten on the desk.
“I… I feel all tingly Damon.” He almost groaned at your confession, instead he grabbed your hips and gently pressed his hard on into your pantie clad pussy, gauging your reaction.
“Here?” He asks as you gasp, placing your hands on his abdomen to stop yourself from chasing the ache.
He notices your restraint and he shakes his head, lifting his hips again.
“Damon.” You moan softly against his lips and he almost lost control, a hand moving into your hair and forcing you to smash your lips against his.
You were caught off guard but you melted almost instantly, wrapping your arms around his neck and finally connecting your bodies. His toned abdomen flexing under yours as his hands moved under your thighs to pull you up, the friction between your legs making you squirm.
The thin fabric of your panties didn’t stand a chance against the roughness of Damon’s jeans and you tried your hardest not to rock your hips, confused by the feeling.
His hands slid over your hips and he grasped at your ass, squeezing and forcing you to grind your aching clit over his cock.
He swiped his tongue over your bottom lip and you instinctively opened your mouth, allowing him to slide his tongue into your mouth, playing with yours. He tasted like mint and something so unmistakably Damon.
“Can I take this off?” He broke the kiss to ask, tugging at the hem of your skirt, you whimpered, sad at the loss of his mouth.
He studied your big begging eyes, your kiss bitten lips and how dazed you already looked.
He couldn’t help but wonder what you’d look like when he finally gets his cock inside you, would you still look so lost and helpless and painfully turned on?
You nod at his request and he picks you up again, making you stand so he can pull your skirt down. You stood between his thighs and his eyes stayed on yours as your skirt fell down your legs.
Feeling bold, you reached down and grabbed his hands, pulling him in the direction of your bed. He smirked and stood up, towering over you and leaning down to peck your lips. You looked up at him like a wounded puppy, waiting for him to take charge again.
“Lay down.” It was pathetic how quickly you listened and Damon could see you were embarrassed but still willing to do whatever he says and that made him feel alive.
You laid down, feeling far too exposed in just your undergarments, waiting in painful anticipation of what Damon was going to do to you.
It was laughable how easy it was to draw you in. He was silly in thinking you would be a challenge.
He thought your innocence made you a shut in, scared of the world around you but it made you curious, it made you easy, you craved experience, even if you were terrified while doing it.
He knew he had control now, without any mind games or tricks and that was dangerous for both of you…
A/n: Will most likely be doing a part 2 to this one. Let me know if you’d like one and if you liked this first part :3

WHAT IT’S ABOUT
From V. E. Schwab, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue: a new genre-defying novel about immortality and hunger.
Santo Domingo de la Calzada, 1532.
London, 1827.
Boston, 2019.
Three young women, their bodies planted in the same soil, their stories tangling like roots. One grows high, and one grows deep, and one grows wild. And all of them grow teeth.
Vampire!Cowboy who bought you, a human, as a fresh supply of blood. He treats you well, keeping you in soft sheets and feeding you good food, and making sure to keep his bites gentle as he sinks his fangs into you at night, tasting your sweet blood.
You are pampered, sure. But you are still a captive, so when you get the chance you run away towards the forest, determined to get away from the monster who scares and excites you in equal measure.
Except it ends terribly, since he sensed his sweet dove running off and chased after you with his inhuman speed like the cursed creature he is, pinning you down into the dirt with a snarl;
"You’re running from someone who has been handling troublesome cattle all his life, little one” he growls into you ear, your ass lifted up and face smothered in dirt, “I have no issue chasing down unruly animals and teaching them a lesson.”
You whimper as he smacks your ass, before tearing your panties off and splitting your fleshy globes open, your hole puckered and twitching as its exposed to the cool forest air.
A loud whimper escapes your throat as he spits on your hole, glob after glob that mixes with your shameful arousal and drips down your thigh and the ground before you hear his belt unbuckling.
He leans over, hot breath ghosted over your skin, sending shivers down your spine. "Looks like this filly needs a firm hand," he growled, pressing the head of his thick cock against your entrance “And who better than me to deliver it?”
He thrust forward without warning, burying himself to the hilt inside your tight heat.
Your scream was muffled by the dirt as he began to thrust into you hard, his cock beginning to piston in and out of your obscenely stretched hole. Sounds of lewd slapping of skin against skin fills the air with each brutal stroke- the pain mixed with pleasure, making your mind spin.
"Take it, little dove," he snarled, gripping your hair and forcing your face deeper into the earth. "This is what happens when you run from your master."
Tears streamed down your face as the vampire's relentless pounding continues. The rough texture of the dirt ground against your cheek, mixing with saliva as you struggled to breathe through your nose.
But even as the discomfort overwhelmed you, a dark, shameful thrill coursed through your veins. There was something primal about being taken so brutally, used for this monster’s pleasure. You know it was abhorrent. Disgusting even, but your body responded despite yourself, clenching around his invading length as if begging for more.
"You don't know what's out there, my dove." he grunts as his cock reaches deep in you "How dangerous it is for you. So listen to me, okay?" he says with a groan as he fucks into you, making you sob into the dirt as your hole tightens around him “And learn to stay exactly where I plop your sweet derriere. Yes?”
You can only whimper in reply as you feel yourself about to tip the edge, eyes rolled back as your hole grips him like a vice.
"I'm trying to protect you, darlin'," he grunts, his voice low and husky. "Out there, you'd be nothing but prey. Here, with me... I'll keep you safe." His thrusts become more deliberate, each stroke hitting that sweet spot deep within you.
Your sobs subsided, replaced by gasps and moans as pleasure began to override the pain. The vampire's cock throbbed inside you, growing harder, signalling his impending release.
With a growl he spills himself in you, filling you with so much seed you feel bloated.
Your thighs shake as he pulls himself out with a plop, his cum dripping out of your gaping hole as you try to move. But he doesn't give you the chance, simply lifting you over his shoulder, giving your ass a hard smack that makes arousal flare in the pit of your belly that overrides the sting on your poor cheek as he starts walking back to the main house.

staying in the city was becoming a bit of a challenge for you. you would usually escape at night in search of some drunk human stumbling through the streets here and there, and while you had to admit their blood tasted terrible, it was the best you could do in the city. it was the only way you could feed without drawing attention.
living during the daytime was also impossible.
the harsh sun hurt your skin, but you did what you had to do to survive and escape the hunters, a massive group of people who walked the town carrying holy crosses, desperate to force any creature to expose themselves. creatures like you.
your brother had warned you about them, telling you the best option was to run far away. you had managed to book late-night flights, hopping between different hotels, strategically choosing crowded areas where staying hidden was easy and finding food was always an option.
making money was another hurdle. you worked at a crowded nightclub mixing drinks, which solved two problems at once: earning money to survive and, more importantly, having a constant supply of blood.
you couldn't help what you were, you were born like this. and no, these creatures weren't just fairytale monsters, you were very, very real.
you checked your reflection in the mirror one last time. your extremely pale skin was styled with a beautiful low waisted skirt paired with a tight, long sleeved black top.
the truth was, you couldn't really feel temperature, all you knew was that it was currently winter and you needed to blend in with the crowd.
your long burgundy hair fell in loose, soft curls at the ends. after spritzing on some alcohol-free perfume and putting in your brown contacts to hide your true eyes, you left your hotel room to catch a cab to work.
vampires had a few tricks that made them special, like superhuman strength and speed, but you possessed a rare ability to control emotions. with just a small thought, you could make a super stressed person feel totally calm, or instantly stop someone's angry fight before it even started. but your smell was your strongest sense, and, right now, it was driving you insane. the terrible smell of gross, alcohol-soaked blood from the loud crowd was making your stomach turn.
that gross feeling in your stomach instantly disappeared the second you walked over to a booth of guys to drop off a tray of drinks they had ordered.
a heavy, unwanted hand landed on your butt with a sharp slap.
disgusting
your eyes flashed. you turned around fast, glaring at the creepy customer with pure disgust. a low, angry hiss came out of your throat, like a dangerous wild animal about to attack. you immediately started using your vampiric ability, trying to change his gross, mood and make him fall into a heavy, sudden sleep right in his chair to give him a secondhand embarrassment moment in front of everyone.
before you could even weave the mood shift, a tall, impossibly attractive guy stepped directly between you and the creep.
time seemed to stall into slow motion. as he stood up for you, a sudden breeze swept past him, carrying his scent straight to you.
you inhaled, and your eyes closed for a quick, helpless second.
holy shit
his blood…
it smelled… insanely and intoxicatingly sweet.
so agonizingly pure that a violent wave of starvation hit you out of nowhere. behind your closed, red lips, your sharp fangs involuntarily snapped down, throbbed, and grew long, desperate to puncture his skin.
horrified by your own body's reaction, you moved your hand over your mouth to hide your teeth, completely overwhelmed. playing it smooth, you excused yourself and slipped back toward the bar counter before anyone could notice your slip up.
behind the bar, your knees gave out. you dropped low to the ground, slapping both hands over your mouth and nose to block out the smell and hide your fangs as you fought to force them away. you had never smelled blood that pure in your entire life, let alone reacted like this.
of course, your sudden disappearance didn't go unnoticed.
footsteps approached, and the pretty boy slowly leaned over the bar counter, looking down at you with deep concern.
“sorry to bother, but, are you okay? i just saw that creepy dude touch you,” he said worryingly, his cute doe eyes searching yours.
you cut him off quickly, frantically forcing your sharp fangs to retract back into your gums before speaking.
“yes, i am fine, i just—” you forced out, finally daring to look up at him. the moment you took another breath, inhaling the dangerously sweet scent of his blood, your mind spun “i need to have a cigarette. excuse me.”
without waiting for an answer, you managed to push past your co-workers, rushing out the back exit into the freezing night air.
as soon as you slipped out the back door, you impulsively pulled out a cigarette and lit it as fast as you could. you didn’t actually enjoy smoking, but the thick, toxic smoke helped confuse your hyper-sensitive sense of smell, and that was exactly what you needed right now.
you sat down on the cold step in front of the back door and sent a quick text to your boss, asking for a few minutes to take ‘an important call’ and have a quick smoke. she agreed without a problem, taking over your spot at the bar for a bit.
the night breeze brushed against your still body, but you couldn’t feel it.
how did hot or cold even feel?
to you, everything was just frozen. that was why you never let a human touch you, no high-fives, no hugs, nothing. even when your boss had congratulated you on your fake birthday and tried to pull you into a hug, you had stepped back. catching the quick flash of sadness on her face had made you feel so terrible that you immediately used your mood-shifting ability to make her happy again.
you traced small circles on your tatted knee, playing with the soft fabric of your skirt as you exhaled a cloud of grey smoke.
having the ability to sense every single human’s mood around you was truly a curse, it left your mind constantly wandering into dark places.
i'm a monster, you thought to yourself.
horrible.
truly horrible. a single, cold tear slipped down your pale skin.
you just wanted to feel the breeze. you watched the leaves rustle in the dark trees, but then a sharp hunger hit your stomach. your body was desperately asking for blood. your vision started to blur.
finishing your cigarette in a rush, you stood up and checked your surroundings for any human walking alone.
that was when you saw a young blonde girl staggering out of the club... all by herself.
perfect, you thought.
checking for the security cameras you already knew by heart, you waited until she was finally in a blind spot about to cross the street. then, you took off with unbelievably speed, so fast no human eye could track.
the girl turned around, terrified by your sudden presence. thankfully, it was 2 AM, and the street was empty, with only a few cars driving by.
“w-what do you want?!” she asked, taking a step back as a dark, dangerous energy radiated off your body.
“i'm sorry,” you said softly. you grabbed her jaw, slamming her back against a large tree.
“HELP, NO!” she yelled.
before she could scream again, your sharp fangs stabbed her neck, right below her ear, hidden behind her long hair so the scar wouldn't be visible. your free hand clenched into a tight fist as her blood hit your tongue. she wasn't as drunk as you thought. her blood tasted far too good.
taking only what you strictly needed, you grabbed both of her wrists and forced her eyes to lock with yours. you used your ability to make her calm down, so calm that when she woke up, this whole moment would come back as a quick, blurry flash.
“y-you’re a mon— a mons—“ the girl tried to say as her eyes slowly closed.
“i know,” you said, wiping your lips clean so no visible blood remained.
the moment you saw a cab, you stopped it with your hand.
“please take her to the nearest hotel, sir,” you said, helping her inside just as loud shouting echoed from the club exit.
“oh my god, sammy!” another girl, who was clearly drunk, ran toward the taxi “oh my god, did she bother you? or vomit on you?”
you chuckled “no, no, far from that. she asked me to help her call a taxi because she’s, apparently, too drunk...”
liar
“oh, thank you very much, good samaritan!” the girl said, getting into the back of the car with her best friend.
good, you thought. everything went according to plan! a little boy-scout salute to yourself.
you went back inside to finish your shift, trying to survive the night while a pair of dark eyes connected with yours from across the room.
you were back behind the bar, preparing drinks here and there. you had to take deep breaths every few minutes because the amount of humans painfully hurt your brain with so many different, chaotic emotions.
still, you couldn't help but search for those sweet brown eyes. somehow, you felt... safe under his stance. but you internally hated yourself for it. the only time you had allowed yourself to feel this way was back in your homeland with another vampire who was stubborn as hell and completely manipulative. because of your emotion ability, his toxic feelings had wrecked you.
and yet, this man’s eyes and his feeling of protection filled your brain.
on the other side of the room, he got the memo and didn’t approach you anymore, thinking he was too invasive during your last interaction. but he had this urge, this heavy feeling of needing to be around you.
that was the thing about vampires. to the human eye, they were outrageously beautiful, perfect creatures. and that was probably what he was feeling, completely mesmerized by you. still, he held back from approaching you again, keeping his distance and just watching you finish your shift.
finally, the night came to an end and you were asked to close up the nightclub.
the moment you stepped through the heavy back doors into the 4 AM air, that powerful, intoxicating scent hit you.
it was him.
you wanted to vanish into thin air the second you saw him. he was standing right there under the dim streetlight, waiting for you.
“sorry... i couldn’t just leave without making sure you were okay...” jungkook said worryingly “are you—”
“for fuck's sake, it was only a slap on my ass! i literally could’ve punched him, i don’t need a superhero, so just—” you stared at him angrily “leave…”
what he felt when you said those crude words to him, you automatically felt: disgust, sadness, and awareness. his whole face changed. he didn't say anything else, he just walked away, hands in his pockets.
fucking monster
idiot, you thought to yourself.
treating him like shit was the best thing you could do so he would disappear from your sight. you wanted to devour him entirely, his blood had something you had never felt or smelled before.
standing alone in the dark, you mind wandered through your thoughts. you wanted to feel a human’s warmth, and not only from their neck by sucking their blood. you needed more than that: a warm hug, a kiss, a real connection.
you slammed the door and disappeared at full speed behind a tree, crying in the dark before the dangerous sun came up.
⁺‧₊˚ ཐི⋆♱⋆ཋྀ ˚₊‧⁺
the next evening at 10:00 PM, jungkook was in his office, sitting straight in his chair and organizing papers that clearly didn't need to be organized. his mind was wandering around those five-second memories of you, your mysterious beauty, your sad eyes, and that strange, intense attraction that activated all five of his senses.
“yo, jeon, everything alright?” matt asked, rolling over in his office chair.
jungkook popped out of his thoughts quickly “yeah, yeah...” he said “why?”
“you were staring at your desk for 20 minutes straight. i counted them with my phone,” matt jokingly said, patting jungkook’s back “ah, what about some dinner? i'm starving for some steak.”
“sure!” jungkook said, standing up and taking his coat and scarf.
they ended up going to a restaurant down the street and taking a table right next to the big glass window.
around 10:50PM, matt stood up to go to the restroom.
left alone, jungkook stared out the window into the dark. the streets were quiet, and cold wind rustled the bare trees in the park across the street.
and then, he saw…
you?
yes! it was definitely you, standing right in the middle of the park under a dim, yellow streetlight.
jungkook couldn't breathe. he stared through the glass, taking in your entire figure. you were wearing a tight black top that had slipped far below your shoulders, leaving your pale, bare shoulders and collarbones exposed to the freezing winter air. the shirt fit tight on your waist, flowing into a long skirt that rested just above your ankles.
under that soft yellow light, surrounded by dark trees, you looked unbelievably beautiful.
what is she doing out there alone at 10:40 at night? jungkook thought. it's dangerous
he watched as your small hands pulled out a cigarette and lit it, taking a slow drag.
the urge to protect you pulled at him so hard it was physically painful. he couldn't just sit in a warm restaurant while you stood out there in the cold with your bare shoulders exposed.
he pushed his chair back, ready to go running to you…
“whoa, where are you going?” matt said as jungkook bumped on him
“i- i need to take an important call, i’ll be outside for a minute okay?” jungkook said quickly as matt sat back down.
“oh, alright,” he said.
jungkook grabbed his heavy coat, pushed open the glass restaurant doors, and ran across the street into the dark park, heading straight for you. before he could cross the street, a big bus suddenly drove past, making him stop in his tracks. but once it passed by, you were... gone.
“fuck,” he muttered to himself, scratching the back of his neck as he looked around, trying to catch even a glimpse of you.
were you even real?

the bass pounded through the crowded night club, but for you, the noise was secondary to the endless sea of heartbeats and veins around you. working as a bartender was equal parts survival and torture.
you were in the middle of wiping down the sticky counter when rachel, your boss, slid right next to you, a mischievous grin on her face. she pushed a shot glass toward you, the liquid inside a deep, ruby red.
how convenient
“drink this, boss’s orders,” rachel insisted, leaning over the counter “it’s cherry vodka”
you looked at the glass, forcing a small, polite smile while carefully maintaining your distance “rachel, you know i can't drink on shift—“
“just one shot! come on, they say i'm the best preparing it!” she pleaded, pouting.
before you could reply, the air around you shifted violently.
a sudden, overwhelming scent cut through the cheap perfume, sweat, and spilled liquor of the bar. it hit your senses like an absolute drug, rich, hot, and insanely addictive. your throat immediately burned with a vicious, hollow ache, and behind your gums, your fangs throbbed, trying to force their way out.
you froze, your eyes widening as you saw him walking towards you. he was dressed effortlessly, his dark hair slightly messy, completely oblivious to the chaos his mere presence was causing inside your head.
“oh, jungkook is here!” rachel called out, waving him over.
as jungkook turned his head and his dark eyes locked onto yours, your survival instincts screamed at you to run. you couldn't be near him. not tonight. not when your thirst was already riding such a razor thin edge.
without saying a single word to rachel, you abandoned the counter, turned on your heel, and practically flew toward the back exit, vanishing into the dark alley before he could even reach the bar.
“y/n!” your boss yelled after you.
jungkook just stood there, watching your disappearing figure with a heavy heart.
does she hate me? he thought, his chest aching.
“sometimes i really wonder what goes through her mind,” your boss sighed, shaking her head as she wiped down the counter.
“what? why?” jungkook asked quickly, looking at her.
“she’s always so anxious,” your boss explained softly “she didn’t have it easy growing up you know... she lost her entire family in a terrible car accident.”
jungkook stared at the spot where you had vanished, his chest feeling tight “a car accident?” he repeated softly, the image of your sad, pale face flashing in his mind.
“yeah,” rachel, your boss, said, leaning on the counter “poor girl keeps everyone at arm's length. she never lets anyone get close, doesn't like being touched, and works constantly. to be honest, she's terribly lonely and anxious all the time,”
jungkook looked down at his hands, trace memories of your eyes burning in his head “rachel, i... i don't know what it is, but from the first time i saw her, i was just completely stricken by her. i just can't get her out of my head"
rachel’s eyes lit up, a huge smile spreading across her face. “really? oh, jungkook, you should take her out! seriously, she needs someone like you to bring her out of her shell and ease that loneliness. try talking to her again!”
jungkook felt a spark of hope “okay i will,”

you couldn't do this anymore honestly. his smell was a literal torture device for your body. that night, after jungkook left, and you closed up the club, you begged rachel to change your schedule. you asked to take the next few weeks off during the week and only work late weekend nights when it was too crowded for him to find you. rachel felt bad for your ‘anxiety’ and agreed.
for three whole weeks, you successfully avoided him. you thought you were safe.
until rachel announced a massive birthday celebration.
her uncle owned a luxurious, high-end penthouse at the very top of a skyscraper in the middle of the city, and she was throwing an exclusive party for her birthday. you tried your best to make up an excuse, but rachel practically forced you, saying you needed to get out and live a little.
so the night of the party finally arrived. you decided to dress up for the occasion. you put on a white long-sleeved top, a very short white skirt, and cute silver jewelry. to finish the look, you chose your favorite pair of big black boots decorated with edgy metal harnesses. your makeup was completely flawless, styled with sharp eyeliner and your special colored contact lenses, you could never forget those, or your glowing vampire eyes would give you away in a second.
since rachel knew all about your supposed ‘anxiety’ you arrived early to spend some time together before anyone else got there. you spent a couple of hours hanging out on the rooftop terrace, stringing up fairy lights, connecting the bluetooth speakers, and setting up a long table packed with alcohol. rachel even offered to buy you dinner, but you politely declined. a big meal was a hard no for you, since… your diet was strictly blood.
slowly, the guests started to arrive. a few guys tried to greet you by holding your hands or touching your arm, but every single time, you quickly made up an excuse to step away.
“she doesn’t like being touched,” rachel explained to everyone with a sympathetic smile.
a few minutes passed, and the suffocating air on the terrace became too much to handle. excusing yourself quietly, you slipped away from the pool area and retreated to the bathroom upstairs to take a few deep breaths and pull your monster back under control.
the moment you walked out into the corridor, rachel caught your eye from across the floor, waving you over with a bright, expectant grin.
“oh, crap! y/n, can you do me a massive favor?” she asked, turning to you with wide, pleading eyes “jungkook just texted me. he's downstairs at the entrance with a bunch of heavy ice bags and extra booze for the bar, but i have to finish setting up the speaker system. could you please go down and help him bring the bags up?”
your heart did a violent flip inside your chest. “rachel, i—“
“pleeeeease! it'll take two minutes, i promise!” she pouted, practically bouncing on her toes.
you swallowed hard, choking down the immediate spike of anxiety. you mustered up your courage, nodded slowly, and made your way toward the elevator.
when the elevator doors opened on the ground floor, jungkook was standing near the lobby entrance, holding two heavy ice bags under his arms and some liquor bottles in his hands. his hair was slightly messy, and he looked dangerously good in his leather jacket, what was that on lis lip… a piercing? the moment the scent of his blood hit the air, your throat burned with that familiar, hollow ache.
“oh, hey, y/n,” jungkook said, his eyes lighting up the second he saw you. a small, warm smile spread across his lips “rachel sent you to rescue me?”
“y-yeah, let me help you with those,” you mumbled, keeping your eyes strictly on the bags to avoid his gaze.
you reached out to grab the heavy bag with liquors from his hands. even though you were holding back your vampire strength, your movements were fast and effortless. jungkook blinked, clearly surprised by how easily you lifted the heavy bag without even straining.
“whoa, alright,” he chuckled, grabbing the ice bags and stepping into the elevator beside you “guess you're stronger than you look.”
you gave him a quick, uncomfortable smile and kept your back pressed against the cold metal wall of the elevator. with your head tilted down, you held your breath for the entire ride up, desperate to keep his intoxicating scent from completely taking over your mind.
she is so beautiful, he thought to himself.
once the elevator reached the 30th floor, the doors slowly opened, revealing an excited rachel who immediately ran straight into jungkook’s arms to hug him tightly. you, on the other hand, slipped past them to make your way into the kitchen, quickly storing the liquor bottles before excusing yourself to the upstairs bathroom once again.
nearly everyone's eyes followed you as you walked away.
“she’s weird as fuck,” one of rachel’s friends spat, a few others nodding along in agreement.
“just leave her alone, she’s a sweetheart. come on, let’s go, let’s go!” rachel said, gently patting her friends on the back as she led them back outside to the terrace.
but jungkook’s eyes remained glued to you. he watched as the soft fabric of your white long sleeves swayed with every step you took, perfectly accompanying the graceful motion of your body as you disappeared up the stairs.
perfection

it started raining at some point during the night, forcing everyone to move inside to keep the party going. with all the glass doors shut, the heavy bass of the music echoed even louder through the penthouse. human bodies packed together in the living room, dancing dangerously close, completely lost in the rhythm and the alcohol.
you, on the other hand, isolated yourself in the clear glass hallway, leaning your back against the cool glass as you watched everyone have fun.
truth was, your stomach was beginning to ache with a sharp, hollow pain. jungkook’s blood scent lingering in the air kept your instincts at war with your mind, a constant, exhausting mental battle.
you caught rachel waving her hands frantically, motioning for you to come over to the crowded dance floor where she was dancing. at first, you shook your head no, wanting to stay in the safety of the dark corridor. but seeing her pout and feel down instantly made your chest physically hurt. you mustered up every drop of courage you had left and finally made your way toward the center of the room.
jungkook was under the influence of a few drinks. it was his childhood friend’s birthday and the weekend, he desperately needed this break off from his daily duties. but the exact second he saw you round the corner of the clear glass gallery, he swore he saw an angel.
the dim, warm lights of the massive penthouse outlined your silhouette in your white clothes in a way that felt entirely unreal. he watched your hips sway from side to side and your smooth legs move with effortless grace. he wondered what it would feel like to just... touch you.
he watched you stand near the edge of the crowd, sticking as close to rachel as possible to avoid everyone else. but then he noticed something strange. rachel had been pouting just a moment ago, but the second your eyes met hers, her mood magically shifted. she stopped frowning and beamed with pure joy, as if your presence instantly fixed her spirit.
jungkook stared at your face, analyzing every detail. you were perfect. ridiculously perfect. your skin was impossibly smooth, devoid of a single mole or freckle, and your eyes held a mystery he craved to see up close.
oh,
you were going to be his tonight.
he made it his mission to slowly approach you without you noticing. slicing through the warm, sweaty bodies on the dance floor, he closed the distance between you.
the sudden shift in the air and the rush of his distinct scent immediately alarmed you, but it was too late to back out. jungkook was already standing directly behind you, dangerously close.
he began moving his body to the heavy rhythm of the drums, pressing just close enough that your inner creature screamed for more, more closeness, more touch, anything to quiet the wild hunger raging inside your mind.
“escaping from me again, sweetie?” jungkook whispered softly against your ear, his lips almost brushing the shell of your skin. you froze, praying he hadn't fully touched you.
“i-i was not escaping i—” you stuttered, a few stray strands of his dark hair brushing against your cheek because of how close he was leaning.
“it’s obvious. anytime i get close, you just disappear,” he murmured, his breath fanning over your neck “i'm surprised you haven’t left yet.”
before you could step away, his warm hands reached out and clamped around your hips from behind.
“n-no, jungkook, don’t—” you gasped, trying your absolute best to pull forward and stop this, but his grip only tightened, his fingers holding you firmly in place.
your top wasn't quite long enough, leaving a small, delicate strip of bare skin exposed right above the waistband of your white skirt. jungkook’s warm fingers shifted slightly, hovering right over that bare skin.
yet, as physically close as you were, something strange happened to your moods instincts. being this close to someone for the first time in years was actually dulling your ability to read the rest of the room. somehow, his potent blood and focused intense thoughts alone, acted like a shield against everyone else. for a brief second, you felt safe.
“come on, dance with me,” he rasped, connecting the entire front of his body to your back. he began guiding your hips to the rhythm of the music, using his hands to keep you flush against him.
you doubted yourself a million times, but the feeling of peace was overwhelming. you let your head fall back against his muscular chest, your lips pressing tight together as your fangs unconsciously began to sprout behind your gums. you squirmed under his touch, trying desperately to suppress your true nature.
but your eyes started burning, your throat was doing flips, and your tongue could feel the sharp tips of your fully grown fangs resting against your lower lip.
you couldn't stay here. not like this.
you ripped yourself from his grip and bolted through the crowd.
“y/n!” jungkook shouted over the music, his eyes widening as he immediately gave chase, matching your rapid pace as you headed straight up the stairs toward the bathroom, the furthest one from everyone else.
you burst into the bathroom, too panicked to even think about locking the door. your eyes were stinging agonizingly from the glowing vampire nature building up behind the colored contact lenses. lifting your hands with trembling fingers, you quickly peeled the painful lenses out of your eyes and threw them onto the marble counter.
before you could even turn around to catch your breath, jungkook was right behind you.
he stepped into the dimly lit bathroom, closing the door behind him. but as his eyes locked onto yours, his breath hitched completely in his throat.
there you stood in the shadowy room, your glowing red eyes cutting through the darkness, your sharp fangs glinting under the soft light, and your skin pale and freezing cold.
he didn't scream. he didn't run. he just stared at you, his chest heaving, his dark eyes wide with pure awe.
“what... what are you?” he whispered, taking a slow step toward you.
“i'm a monster, jungkook,” you growled softly, backing up until your lower back hit the counter “and i swear if you stay in this room for another second, i won't be able to stop myself from draining you dry,”
a dark, breathtaking smirk slowly spread across jungkook's lips.
what? a smile?
he walked right up to you, completely towering over your smaller frame. reaching out, he wrapped his burning warm hands around your freezing wrists and pulled you flush against his body, his breath hitching slightly in surprise at the intoxicating contrast between your frozen skin and his burning skin.
“then don't stop,” he whispered, tilting his head back to expose his warm, beating pulse right in front of your lips “bite me y/n,”
“w-what? but jungkook...” you stuttered, completely caught off guard by his insane reaction.
“bite me y/n make yourself a feast out of me, do it,” he said pushing you on the marble counter, your ass pressed against it.
and you didn't need to be told twice.
the agony of your aching stomach and the sweet, intoxicating scent of his pulse drove you over the edge. with a low, desperate sound in your throat, you gripped his hair, tilted his head to the side, and buried your fangs deep into his neck.
jungkook let out a low, breathy groan, his entire body shuddering violently against yours. his hands dug into your waist, fingers tightening against the fabric of your white top, pulling you flush against him until not even air could pass between you.
and then… his blood hit your tongue.
it was pure fire, sweet and rich, clearing the fog in your head in an instant. you drank hungrily, completely helpless to the taste of him.
jungkook’s head fell back, his chest heaving as he gasped right against your ear “f-fuck... y/n...” he panted, his pulse hammering wildly.
your vampire strength pushed him back until his knees hit the edge of the bath counter, and in one fluid motion, you both tumbled onto the soft bench next to it, jungkook flat on his back with you pinned right on top of him.
you didn't break the connection for a second. your hands slid into his dark hair, holding him still as you drank.
“y/n...” he whimpered, his dark eyes opening slightly, hazy with pure surrender.
through the haze of your hunger, you felt his heart beating faster, his pulse softening just a tiny bit. pulling on every drop of willpower you had left, you painstakingly dragged your fangs out of his neck.
a thin red trail ran down toward his collarbone. driven by pure instinct, you leaned down and gently licked it clean.
jungkook arched his back off the wall with a ragged gasp, his fingers knotting tightly in your hair.
you sat up, straddling his waist, completely breathless. your lips were stained red, your fangs extended, and your crimson eyes glowing in the dark.
jungkook lay beneath you, his chest rising and falling heavily. he lifted a trembling hand, his warm thumb gently wiping a drop of blood from your bottom lip.
“see?” he whispered, a breathless smirk touching his lips as his other hand settled heavy on your hip “bite me again,”
“but i could have killed you, jungkook,” you whispered, your voice shaking “i almost didn't stop,”
“but you did,” he said softly, his thumb stroking your cheek. his gaze darkened, pressing you firmly down against him “and now that you've had a taste... you really think i'm going to let you run away from me again?”
lifting you up effortlessly, he sat you back down on the cold marble counter, never breaking eye contact as he reached back to lock the bathroom door. he stepped right between your parted legs, his warm hands greedily tracing every inch of exposed skin they could reach before slowly traveling under your skirt.
“god, you’re so beautiful,” he breathed against your skin, capturing your lips in a ferocious, bruising kiss. you kissed him back with equal desperation, completely helpless to how fiercely your body physically craved his touch.
your hands tangled wildly into his dark hair, pulling him closer. the moment you both broke away to catch your breath, you sank your fangs right into the other side of his neck. your teeth extended instantly, letting you taste the sweet, intoxicating rush of his hot blood all over again.
“hmm,” he hummed in pure delight, his large hands squeezing your hips and gripping your ass tightly to pull you right to the edge of the counter.
the feeling sent a shiver straight down your spine. pulling your fangs back, you dragged your lips back to his for a hungry, messy kiss, involuntarily grinding yourself flush against him.
he could feel himself slowly and painfully hardening, desperate for friction, practically burning with heat as he unbuttoned his black shirt. you gasped softly at the sight. beautiful black tattoos sprawled over his chest and shoulder, and you wondered how far down his arm they traveled.
his torso was dangerously toned, making your hands greedily touch every inch of smooth, hard skin they could reach, causing him to shiver at the stark contrast of your icy temperature.
“wanna fuck you real good, y/n,” he growled, his dark eyes searching for your glowing crimson ones.
“then do it,” you breathed, completely lost in the sensation, lifting your arms so he could pull your white shirt over your head.
he took his sweet time looking down at your pale, beautiful skin. his head dipped down, curiously reaching for your nipple, wrapping his lips around it and drawing wet circles with his tongue. your back arched off the counter, hands caressing his back and shoulders as a soft moan escaped your throat.
“hmm, fuck, jungkook...” you whispered, grabbing his hair once more to drag him back up for another taste.
you sank your fangs into the sensitive dip between his neck and collarbone, biting down and drinking him in. while you were distracted by the rush of his blood, he somehow managed to strip off your ridiculously short skirt. his fingers slid down your thigh, hovering dangerously close to your center. as much as you hated to admit it, you were leaking wet for him, and only for him.
you suddenly realized you had bitten down a little too hard. jungkook flinched, his body trying to pull back, and it took every ounce of your strength to break the bite. he offered you a strained smile, but his eyes gave him away.
pain.
“i’m sorry, i—” you tried to apologize, panic flickering in your chest.
“shhh, i’m okay,” he rasped, spreading your legs wide as he traced his long, hot fingers along your aching center.
you were clenching around nothing, practically throbbing for him.
how embarrassing, you thought.
“jungkook—” you moaned as two of his warm fingers slid straight inside you “hmm, yes...” you whimpered, rolling your hips back and forth, desperate for more intensity.
“fuck, y/n,” he growled, his free hand reaching up to wrap around your throat, lightly squeezing to choke you as your back hit the cool mirror “so fucking perfect”
the only sounds filling the dimly lit room were the low, heavy bass thumping through the floorboards and the loud, wet sound of his fingers fucking you out of your mind. you couldn't get enough, moving desperately against his hand with your head tilted back. jungkook gritted his teeth, adding a third finger and shifting his stance to drive deeper and faster into you.
“hmmm, fuck...” you were a moaning mess. “want more, jungkook... please.”
his brows furrowed with dark intent as he withdrew his fingers and licked them. then he unbuttoned his pants, kicking them aside, and pulled a condom from his pocket, quickly rolling it down his thick shaft. you let out a ragged breath at the sight of him, completely consumed by desire.
placing both hands on the edge of the counter beside your hips, he aligned his tip with your entrance. you wrapped your legs tightly around his waist as he slowly slid inside, the scorching warmth of him stretching you to the limit.
“fuck, you’re so tight,” he groaned, his jaw clenching “how long has it been since you’ve been fucked, beautiful?” he murmured mockingly, a dark smirk pulling at his lips.
“d-doesn’t matter,” you huffed.
annoyed by his teasing, your nails dug into his back and you sank your fangs straight into his shoulder, tasting his blood once more as he pounded into you.
you couldn’t seem to find the will to stop, craving more of him, more of his blood. but then you felt his heartbeat accelerating dangerously fast, the sudden surge alarming your instincts. with a gasp, you managed to pull your fangs back once more, genuinely surprised by your own restraint.
he reached up to gently caress your cheek with his thumb, his index and middle fingers dangerously tracing the curve of your lips, smearing your red lipstick into a messy blur.
you unconsciously parted your lips, your sharp fangs still extended from the bite, making him stare at you in pure awe. without a word, he slid his fingers right into your mouth.
“suck,” he demanded hoarsely.
you rolled your red eyes back, swirling your tongue around his fingers “ah, fuck,” he groaned as the sharp tip of your fang lightly pricked his skin, letting a tiny drop of his blood hit your tongue. but you didn't stop there. you pushed your head forward, letting his long fingers slide down to touch the back of your throat. you gagged softly, your eyes briefly fluttering back as your head tilted against the mirror.
“fuck, y/n, what a dirty mess you are,” he growled, his voice thick with lust.
you took his wet fingers back between your lips, sucking them hungrily, imagining they were his cock filling you so good. you let yourself choke a couple more times, looking up to meet his dark, dangerous smirk. you could see the dark bite marks scoring his neck, shoulder, and collarbone. he was completely gone for you, consumed by the madness.
pulling his fingers from your mouth, he hooked his thumb over your bottom teeth instead, tugging your face up close to his.
“bite me,” he rasped desperately, his dark eyes searching yours “drink from me babe,”
the words did something terrifying to your soul. as he drove deeper and faster inside you, you found a sweet, sensitive spot right between his ear and neck, sinking your fangs into his skin once more. you drank slowly this time, savoring every drop as his rhythm became wild, as if he wanted to break you apart right then and there.
you were becoming completely addicted to his blood, to the brutal way he was fucking you, and to the overwhelming feeling of being wanted, loved, and completely seen for what you were.
when you finally released his neck, he leaned down to leave a trail of wet, bruising kisses against your collarbone. pulling out of you with a low sigh, he guided you down off the marble counter, leading you toward the floor-to-ceiling mirror right beside the massive bathroom jacuzzi.
he turned you around, pressing your chest flat against the cold, reflective glass. looking at your reflection, you saw the beautiful mess you had become just for him.
he was your drug.
“look at yourself, baby. look how i make you feel,” he whispered darkly, gathering your hair in one hand like a makeshift ponytail while his other hand clamped firmly around your hip to guide himself back inside you.
with your lower back arched and your hips raised, the loud, wet sounds of his thrusts echoed through the spacious bathroom, mingling with the heavy bass thumping through the building. you loved it so much it made your head spin. your hands scrambled for purchase against the slick glass, your face pressing into the mirror with every hard push.
“harder, j-jungkook—” you begged, drool dripping from your mouth over your extended fangs.
“fuck, baby,” he groaned, his grip tightening on your hip “such a fucking mess for me.”
he slammed into you with everything he had, driving you right over the edge. a violent wave of pleasure crashed through your entire body. your climax took over, quickly followed by jungkook spilling hot inside you with a breathless roar.
when it was over, you turned around, resting your back against the cool mirror to catch your breath. your glowing red eyes shone dimly in the shadowy light, your lips messy with a slick mixture of saliva and blood.
jungkook stepped up to you, gently helping you gather your strength. you used the sink faucet and a wet hand towel to clean yourself up, wiping away the blood and lipstick while he stood beside you, fixing his messy hair and examining the dark bite marks on his neck in the mirror.
“i’m so sorry, jungkook,” you murmured, sliding your skirt back into place and staring at the vivid marks scoring his skin.
“i like how they look,” he confessed, a slow, breathtaking smile spreading across his face.
“are you crazy?” you asked, your voice a mix of utter disbelief and deep worry.
he closed the small distance between you, leaning down to press a sweet, lingering kiss to your cheek.
“y/n...” he started quietly “i just... i can’t stay away from you anymore”
“jungkook—” you tried to speak, pulling your shirt back over your head as he gently helped you adjust the sleeves.
“i’m serious, y/n,” he insisted, his dark eyes locking onto yours with absolute sincerity “from now on, anytime you need to feed, anytime you need comfort, call me. i want to be the one for you”
“but jungkook, it’s dangerous—”
“i’m begging you, y/n,” he whispered, taking your hands in his. “let me be yours,”
Vampire bf spooning you in the middle of the night, nuzzling into you so roughly that it causes you to slowly wake up. As soon as he senses you’re not completely asleep, his arms curl around you and he bury’s his face in your neck. Groggily you bare your throat to him, thinking he might be hungry.
But instead he simply whines and cuddles in closer. It’s only then that you notice he’s shivering. A soft “What’s wrong, darling?” croaks past your lips. He doesn’t respond, letting his actions speak louder as his hands slip under your shirt and brush along your soft stomach as if trying to steal up all your warmth. You hiss at his touch, his usually cold skin even colder for some reason. “You’re freezing,” you can’t help but exclaim the obvious.
Your vampire bf whimpers, nodding his head within the warm fold of your neck. “Need your warmth. Need your heat, baby please,” he says in a soft whine, one hand tugging at the seam of your shorts and giving you an idea of what he means.
As soon as you’ve pulled your panties down, he’s sliding himself between the warm supple flesh of your thighs. He hisses in the space of her neck, his body shuddering with pleasure.
Your lips part, feeling his throbbing cock push its way through your legs, so close to where you need him. His tip bumping up against your clit with every snap of his hips. Arousal pools within you till it drips onto his cock. Your bf growls, hips moving faster.
“Ah, fuck! More. Please,” you beg, baring your neck once again. Your hips tilt, craving the feeling of being filled by him.
“My heart, I could devour you whole and still crave more," he rumbles, his hips bucking to catch every drop of your essence on his length.
His hand tenderly cups the underside of your neck and brings it to his lips. You sense the heat of his breath and goosebumps rise along your arms a second before you feel the sharp prick of pleasure caused by his fangs. You shiver as he slowly sinks them all the way in.
The combination of his fangs inside you and the way he slows down the rocking of his hips causes your eyes to droop as you begin to drift back to sleep. His hand massages your plush thigh, gently shifting it back over his own, legs intertwining.
With your thighs open, your bf has easy access to slide his length inside your eager and dripping walls. You both moan as he pushes past your entrance, his girth carefully stretching your precious pussy as he takes his time stuffing you full of him. Bringing a delicious dull ache to the apex of your thighs.
He settles in once he’s buried his length to the hilt, your hips fitting together like two puzzle pieces. He relaxes against your body and wraps every limb that he can around you. Cocooning your being in his protective embrace. Making you feel exactly as treasured as you are.
“That’s better,” he slurs contently in an attempt to speak with his fangs in your neck. Soon after you start to feel his skin warming back up against your own. You smile softly, finally falling back asleep and happy you were able to help him.

Authors note: Hihi! It’s been a while since I last wrote anything, so please forgive any spelling and grammar mistakes, etc oh! And the intro, I always find it hard to get started! Heres hoping this is at least semi in character for him! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading <3 inspired by the delena scene and songs. Part two is nearly done!
The other night, Matt had come to you for help, saying he needed to infiltrate a warehouse near the docks but it was too heavily guarded for just him. To be honest you didn’t really know what it was about but you trusted him enough to believe it was important.
Perhaps you gave him too much of said trust, considering when you turned up, you were met with two men instead of one. And not just anyone, either. A certain masked man clad in dark blue. He stood alert yet relaxed, though his posture seemed too oddly controlled to be called so. He was taller than you had pictured, bigger and broader too. His tight form fitting shirt revealing a solid strength the man held coiled within his body.
You weren’t fond of Poindexter. Well, that was perhaps a bit harsh seeing as you didn’t know him or had even met him before tonight. You prided yourself on not judging people blindly, so you couldn’t exactly form your own opinion just yet. But, you heard the stories, read the articles. He was unpredictable, a live wire amongst puddles of water.
“It seems you failed to mention we would have company, devil.” Your voice carries a latent tension as you finally stand beside the two.
Matt twitches slightly at the nickname, knowing you only use it when pissed off at him.
“I told you, I needed more than just myself.”
“Still could’ve given me a heads up, and here I was thinking I was your one albeit only, favourite back up partner.”
“Oh, don’t worry sweetheart. You can be mine.” The rough and slightly muffled voice to your right chimes in.
The mutual disdain on your faces matches perfectly. Rather than entertain his comment, you and Matt cast him a final dismissive look before you turn your shoulder sealing him out of the conversation.
“It would’ve been harder to convince you if I did.” Matt relinquishes, a guilty smile spreading across his mouth.
“So, I guess we are suddenly good with killing our enemies?” You fold your arms, leveling a hard stare his way.
“Yes.” Dex answers instantly, just as Matt snaps a “No.”
His head whips round to throw, what you presume is a scowl.
“No, we are absolutely not. He has been warned already.”
Gods, a warning. Right. Because those always work so well on psychopaths. You keep the thought to yourself, head tilting down so the shadows hide the unimpressed narrow of your eyes.
All Bullseye does is hum in acknowledgment and though you can’t actually see it, you could feel the derisive smirk underneath his mask.
You can already tell both you and Matt would be on babysitting duty to make sure he sticks with this ‘warning’.
And if that wasn’t tiring enough, it had all gone to shit.
There were way more people there than expected, the building somehow seemed much bigger on the inside than it did out and Bullseye was a massive pain in the ass, occasionally testing how fast Matt and you could stop whatever from going through someone’s skull or jugular. Causing your focus to wander over him more than the actual bad guys. Which in turn left you too open for said men.
You were hurt, and badly.
They had gotten a good few slices and hits on you, though the worst one was the knife currently sitting snug in your abdomen. Every slight movement, which was not slight at all since you were fighting for your life here. Was agony. Feeling the serrated metal bury and grind further into your flesh with each dodge, parry and punch.
Shoving a very persistent oaf off of you hollows you out. The moment he crashes to the floor your legs feel like jelly, hands slapping blindingly against the wall to anchor yourself before a humiliating collapse beside him.
“Shit.” You hiss.
You inhale deeply, gripping your composure as you straighten your spine. The room spins, a sudden wave of dizziness blurring and warping the edges of your vision. You close your eyes, waiting out the vertigo. Opening them after a moment, you hope nobody saw your bout of weakness. But, your eyes stop on Matt where you can see his head tilted towards you. Of course he noticed, he always does.
“You need to get out of here!” He orders from across the room. Voice bouncing between the walls which does nothing to help your frazzled and disoriented state.
“I’m fine, I just… needed a sec!” You shout back, trying to anchor down your voice, but the deep breath you required pulls at the wound. Turning your last word into a ragged gasp. You stumble over your own foot as the sticky warmth seeping out of your body and onto the fabric of your clothing becomes harder to ignore.
You hear your name in warning.
“I’m not asking.” He barks. “You! Get her out of here!” He demands bullseye, while dodging the swing of a fist.
“The hell I am, you want me to just leave you in this clusterfuck?!”
You open your mouth to protest, but a pair of steady, firm hands settle on the small of your back and arm. You looked up into striking hazel eyes. You decide to shove down the thought of how pretty they are, as he pulls you up and shifts your weight to lean on him.
“There’s only a few more guys past the door, I can manage. We’re basically done.” Matt insists. Leaving no room to fight him on this, but you try anyway. Well, you were before the man beside you started to drag you off down the corridor.
“If anything happens to her Dex I’ll-“
“Yeah, I get it!” Bullseye throws the reply over his shoulder.
You attempt to twist out of his reach, but he merely tightens his hold. Fingers digging deeper, bruising your skin.
Asshole.
“We need to go back.”
You’re met with silence.
“Hello?! We can’t leave him.”
“If you trust him so much, then trust what he says.” He mutters, shoving the door open with a tense shoulder. The sharp edge to his words made it obvious that your seemingly blind faith in Matt rubbed him the wrong way.
That is if you were paying more attention to him.
“That’s not the point, anything could happen.” You snap at him. The night air is a refreshing but welcoming cold against your skin.
“What’s happening is you’re starting to bleed out.” He grunted, shifting his weight and readjusting his hold on you.
You barely manage to force out a scoff. “Bit dramatic.”
“Fine. Then walk.” The words are barely finished before he suddenly lets go and to your dismay, your knees buckle and your body can’t fight the gravity pulling you toward the ground. Before your face hits the concrete, an iron like arm clamped around your waist, ruthlessly hoisting you back up.
“Thought so.” You said, his gruff voice vibrating against your ear.
Opinion made, you hate him.
He stood still, looking down at you. It was only then you realised his mask was off, allowing you to study his features. They’re strong, sculpted and his expression felt incredibly sharp. Fixed. But as you continue to look, you find some kind of depth to him you weren’t expecting to. His cross feet and wrinkles along his cheeks, carve a type of charm into them. His lips, thin and straight. Though they seem to have an almost constant smirk on them.
You see his gaze flit across your own. Analysing, evaluating, assessing your next move. There’s a strange glint in those hazel depths. Making it clear he’s thoroughly enjoying wondering whether you are to resist him again.
You don’t. Feeling as though he’d take entirely too much enjoyment from toying and breaking your resistance if you tried.
There’s a dark red dripping a path down from the split in his lip and your eyes latch onto it with the desperate, starving focus of someone finding water in a desert.
You need to get home.
Before you do anything you’ll regret.
The sight of blood doesn’t usually affect you, even in cases like this where you need to heal but. For some reason his. His, is magnetising. A persistent ache settles into your gums, your pulse heavy and rhythmic as you follow the crimson descent down his throat. A single thought dominates your mind. The sensation of tasting the stray drop with your tongue.
He catches the look, head tilting inquisitively.
Closing your eyes and shaking the urge away you heave a sigh.
“Fine. Fine, just take me to my place.” You wearily order. Thankfully you don’t live far and there’s a lot of dingy alleyways to hide and travel in.
You don’t want him knowing where you stay but it’s the only reasonable option right now, so you’ll deal with whatever mess comes from it later.
~~~
After many. Many of his incessant snarky comments. You make it to your front door.
“The key.” You flick your head over to the small lone plant pot next to the entrance. Not exactly the best hiding place but you thought people would think it was too obvious to even check.
“How safe.” He coos down at you mockingly.
“Shut up and grab the damn thing.” You snap at him.
He props you against the wall, lowering you with an unexpected gentleness. His hands linger, watching to make sure you aren’t going to crumble to the grimy floor below before slipping away
Your small apartment was a welcoming sight, at least until he all but threw you down onto your couch. The plush cushions don’t do much to soften the impact.
Where the hell did his fleeting gentleness go?
Wincing, you're about to start cussing him out but he doesn’t give you the chance. He was already scanning the room, his jaw tightening as he marched into your bathroom.
“Where’s your medical kit?” He reappeared at the door, his eyes narrowed as if the disorganised placement of your things was a personal insult.
“Your belongings are chaotic, you should have a designated spot for it.”
“I didn’t ask for a lecture,” you mumble, trying to brace your hands against the cushions to stand. The movement earned you a blinding flash of agony across your ribs.
“Just get out.”
“Oh, of course. Let you bleed out on your couch and deal with Murdock’s exhausting self afterwards. Stop moving.”
You can’t help but roll your eyes.
“Leave.” The word scrapes through your teeth.
You glare up at him but he just mirrors your intensity, planting his boots as if rooting himself to the spot.
“For fucks sake.” You huff out, as now on the fourth try you finally manage to stand on two feet for a split second before you fall back on the velvet cushions. The action snatching a whimper from your chest.
Your breathing is shallow and uneven now. Finger tips feeling colder than you remember them being moments ago. Joints and muscles, stiff and sore.
You glance back towards him, an unsure urgency written across his face. Not fear or concern, just a realisation the situation is getting worse and needs fixing. Now.
You can’t continue arguing, you don’t have the energy nor the time to. So, options are you either die to conceal your secret or let this irritating, disturbed man find out.
You’re unsure if the latter even has a higher survival rate but you’ll take the chance.
“Room to the left, there’s a closet.” You get yourself into a slightly better position that doesn’t make you feel like you’re getting stabbed all over again.
“Big refrigerator, grab two bags and bring them.”
He doesn’t move right away, maybe wondering why the hell you’d rather have what you’ve asked of him than actual medical supplies.
Once he does decide to go, you grip the handle of the blade. Mentally preparing yourself to drag the thing against your insides. You breathe in and pull, a strangled groan ripping from your throat.
You hear his footsteps come closer, feel the blood bags he drops next to you. The cold of them soaks into the flesh of your thigh before you grab one and tug the top off, downing the ruby liquid. The relief is instant. Like the warmth of the sun caressing your skin, coating the inside of your body. The familiar tingling sensation spattering across your wounds letting you know it’s working.
You practically suck the bag dry for every drop before letting it fall to your lap. You lean your head back in respite. Hand already reaching for the other one.
You look up to see Dex sitting on the chair opposite. Eyes fixed on you. You can’t read his expression, not that you have the focus for it right now. You surely look a mess, hair tangled and strewn everywhere. Sweat, grime and blood clinging to your skin. Panting away like you’ve run a marathon. Eyes struggling to stay open for longer than three seconds.
Unbeknownst to you, Dex doesn’t think he’s ever seen such a beguiling sight.
You’re the perfect mix of battered normalcy and frightening, grotesque anomaly. Watching your eyes glaze over with a pained ecstasy triggers something within him. The raw hunger seeping from your person and filling the room felt like an addictive, intoxicating current. It draws him to sit at the edge of the chair, arms resting on his knees as he can’t help but want to eliminate the distance between you so he could indulge in every tiny detail.
In that single beat, he was utterly consumed by the obsession to physically mark. A visible brand to show his ownership. Refusing to let something so exquisite slip from his grasp. In the grand design, you were already his, just as he was yours. Maybe after seemingly endless years of trying to balance the scales, the world had finally corrected itself. You were his reward. The universe had engineered this moment to show him this. You.
You squeeze free the very last drop, letting out a long exhale as you toss the second pouch aside. With the back of your hand, you swipe away the stray droplets clinging to your chin.
Dex's gaze was too heavy to handle. Too searching. Too sharp. You tear your eyes from his, forcing your focus onto a mundane magazine on the coffee table just to look anywhere else. Hot, prickling shame clawed its way through your ribs, tightening around your throat. To reveal something so sick, so deeply twisted… you wanted the ground to swallow you up. Body tensing as you waited for the inevitable onslaught of disgust and ridicule.
You’re met with neither.
You steal a glance at Dex with apprehension. He remained motionless, the only sign of life the slight uneven hitch in his breath. His face tells you absolutely nothing. You can’t read him, and you aren’t sure if the mystery is worse than knowing his thoughts.
It’s quiet, suffocatingly so.
Outside the distant hum of traffic cuts through the dark, their lights sprinting over the walls, obnoxious laughter of drunken groups drifting through the open window. The silence in the room is deafening. Your own blood thumps against your eardrums, and a cold sweat slickens your palms.
Fabric groans beneath his weight as he moves. Slipping to his knees and edging closer to your own. He sits to the side of your legs, hand reaching up to your torso.
His eyes widen slightly, a sharp light catching in them as he processes the sight of your unblemished skin. The brutal stab wound is gone, replaced only by a soft flush of pink marking the place where torn flesh should have been.
The light skim of his finger tips leave a trail of goosebumps rising in their wake. He is completely entranced. You guess anyone would be, as this wasn’t just a normal Tuesday for most.
“How?”
The raw gravel of his voice tears through the silence, snapping the thread of your thoughts instantly.
“What? Oh… yeah, I’m not sure, to be honest.”
It wasn’t a lie, you really didn’t know how. All you knew was after an accident where they had pronounced you dead for a minute, you had this odd thirst you couldn’t quench until a particularly bloody brawl. The guy's blood had sprayed across your face and into your mouth. Suddenly that blooming warmth had come, breaking through the pain. You’d rather not remember the rest right now, guilt eating away at you already. Ever since, you had secretly tested the boundaries. Pushing until you mapped out what you could do.
He only hums in reply, his eyes lingering on your skin a second longer before rising to lock onto yours, he pulls back and retreats into his chair. Watching you from a distance.
“You can’t tell anyone about this!” You blurt out.
You see the corner of his lips quirk up, a breathy chuckle escaping him.
“Who would I tell?” His head tilted to the side a little.
“I don’t know who you might know! I don’t even know you!” The words stumble out of you in a panicked rush. Your mind spinning, far too fast for you to gather your thoughts into a coherent defense.
He studies you for a moment before responding.
“I will tell no one.” The sudden weight in his voice almost grounds you. The seriousness in his eyes makes it clear this isn’t just a casual promise, it’s an oath.
You give a hesitant nod of your head, unsure how else to respond.
“Does Matt know?”
“No, at least not fully.” You had told him you have your own way of healing but couldn’t bring yourself to actually say how.
His jaw tightens.
But before you can decipher that, your phone rings. Jolting you into motion to find and grab it.
“Speaking of.” You offer a strained laugh, waving the caller ID at Dex.
“Hey! Matt, did you manage to do what you needed?”
You walk through the reassurances, telling him you’re fine and you’re better now, no complications. He cuts you off.
“Wait, is Dex still there?” He asks, sounding a little nervous?” He asks, his tone turning abruptly tense.
“Uh, yeah?”
Silence stretches over the line.
“Just… don’t hang around him more than needed. Be careful, night.”
“Night…” you mumble out before the call ends.
Matt's right.
You forgot who was currently sitting across from you right now.
Clearing your throat you stand to brush off imaginary dust. The habit is laughable, given you are caked in blood and dirt.
“Well, I- thank you for… you know.” You trail off, giving Dex a sheepish smile, your eyes bouncing nervously around the room.
“I don’t wanna keep you any longer, you're probably desperate for a shower and stuff… I know I am.”
He doesn’t budge, you catch a fleeting glimpse of something like hurt across his face but you blink it away before you can start feeling bad for him. Your gaze drops, fidgeting with the hem of your sleeve.
Finally he stands.
“Yes, I am.” He states stiffly, pivoting toward the door. You follow behind, opening it for him.
He stops right on the threshold, crowding your space. So close that the warmth of his breath fans across your cheeks. His lips part as if he wants to say something more but thinks better of it and swallows the impulse.
“See you later.” The way he says it, strips it of any casual pleasantry and turns it into a promise.
~~~
You didn’t see Dex for a while after that night.
Yet, he still plagued your mind. He had witnessed your repulsive nature and hadn’t even flinched. In fact, he hadn’t reacted at all. He had simply asked a question. one entirely devoid of judgement, completely uncondemning.
Granted, you had practically shoved him out the door. But his expression had never soured with disgust. Despite the grotesque act you had displayed, his fingers had traced along your skin with absolute gentleness. As if he were the culprit, as if he were the one trying not to frighten you.
Comprehending your own emotions felt impossible, you couldn’t wrap your mind around the feelings he had stirred. Especially given who he was. He wasn’t a good man, or, more accurately a profoundly troubled and disturbed one. But surely that wasn’t all there was to him. That a hidden layer was beneath the malice. From what Matt had told you, he didn’t exactly care for humanity. Warned you of his lack of empathy. His moral compass driven by balancing the scales. It was a bleak world view, but one you found yourself relating to. After what happened, what you did. You tried to correct that wrong over and over again, continuing to do so to this day.
You slam your pen down with a frustrated huff. An ugly blotch of ink now stained your file, marking the moment you had zoned out.
You need to get him out of your head.
Standing, you decide to take your break early and head to your favourite cafe. The rich scent of roasted coffee beans and sweet pastries wrap around you. It brings a sense of peace and quiet that your mind hasn’t experienced in weeks. You pause to savour the feeling. Opening your eyes you are expected to see the barista's familiar face. You don’t. Instead, you find yourself staring at the very man you’re trying to forget.
Catching your eye as he reaches for his drink, a flash of surprise crosses his face. Yet, it feels too practised to be genuine. Perhaps lasting a second longer than it naturally should have. Your name falls from his lips.
“Imagine running into you here.” He says, his face splitting into a warm, lopsided grin.
“I should be saying that to you, I’ve never seen you here before.” You go here almost everyday, treating this routine as a sanctuary. And he had never been part of the scenery. Attempting to hide the suspicion in your tone, you could only hope he hadn’t caught onto it.
A woman taps your shoulder wanting to get past you both. As you step aside, you feel Dex’s hand rest lightly on your arm. Steering you over to a table in the corner. You glare at him in confusion, shifting yourself until he lets go. His eyes locked onto the rejection, something unreadable hardening his features in response.
“I’m guessing you come here often then?” He asks, taking a slow sip of his coffee.
The casual question feels cheap, like a cliché romance movie line. But the intensity in his stare made it entirely distinct.
“You could say that.” You mutter out. Not breaking eye contact as you study the subtle shifts in his expression, hoping they reveal something.
An awkward silence floats between the two of you before he breaks it.
“A friend recommended it to me.” He offered the explanation as if reading the suspicion on you.
“You have friends?”
The blunt words were out before you could pull them back. It was terribly rude. But the concept felt impossible. You just couldn’t picture him forming bonds with anyone.
Dex’s face steels for a fraction of a second before a sharp chuckle leaves him.
“Ouch, you don’t like me very much do you?” He shifts closer, his voice dropping.
“Well, you don’t exactly have a glowing reputation.”
“Hmm. Matt told me you weren’t the judging type. Seems he was wrong.” He prods, raising an eyebrow, dismissively turning his attention out the window.
The accusation was a fair point. He really hadn’t given you a reason to dislike him. He was a pain in the ass, undeniably ruthless. A volatile force with no regard to anyone in his way but, he had helped you. Even when you made it difficult. More than that though, he hadn’t judged you for your… peculiar appetite. Perhaps you owed it to him, or, yourself to discover who he truly was before writing him off completely.
“Fine, sit. I’m gonna grab my usual and then you can show me your sunny personality.” You give a saccharine smile and immediately walk off to the counter.

Somehow, meeting Dex at the cafe grew into a regular thing. You got along better than you’d like or care to admit. There were times you didn’t even speak, words unnecessary. Trivial. Both content with the comfortable silence, soaking in the other’s presence. It was a strange anchor you found yourself eagerly anticipating each day.
Most days now, the ritual was slipping away early to the quaint little cafe. Finding Dex already sitting at what was now your table. The usual order sat waiting for you. Perhaps you should've questioned how easily you slipped into his presence, how frightingly quick you had grown accustomed to him. You weren’t the social type, preferring the company of isolation over anyone else’s.
Which was probably due to the veiled side you carried, the lingering belief you were tainted. But, you favoured it more than puppeteering yourself to others. And part of you suspected Dex understood that exact feeling.
Maybe, that was the secret to the effortless ease between you both. The deeper, subconscious parts of your broken natures intertwining beneath the surface, completely unseen. Even to yourselves.
Settled in a deep calm, you missed the slight flick of Dex’s wrist. A brief flash of tiny, silver metal whipped through the air to slice the arm of an unsuspecting stranger. Beads of blood welled in the fresh scratch. At the man’s sharp yelp, you snapped your attention to the red droplets. Realising nothing was really wrong, you turn your gaze back forward. Dex watched it all, silently taking a mental note.
Two days later, you were caught in a similar trap.
Dex ‘accidentally’ brushed his mug off the table, watching it shatter before quickly ducking down to collect the ceramic shards. You lean down to help but a low hiss from him stops you in your tracks. He looks up, hand following suit. As he flexed his fingers, a thick, ruby liquid began pooling in the shallow valley of his palm.
Your whole body stilled cold, breath stuck painfully between your chest and throat. You feel your temperature skyrocket, the room suddenly suffocatingly warm. Mouth salivating as the irritating ache of your gums punched forward again. You grip the edge of the rickety wooden table, nails digging into it to ground yourself like a lifeline.
He called your name softly, the mere sound of his voice fuelling the instincts you were fighting to suppress. His gaze scanned your face and body before landing on your mouth. Catching the sharp peek of canines against your lower lip, his gaze fix back to your eyes. In that single frozen moment, the shared awareness became all consuming.
To watch the ghost inside of you awakening, his heart races. To see it happen, watch you crawl out of your surface shape. The heavy, dangerously alert look in your eyes triggered something raw within him. Sends waves of emotions and sensations he has never felt before, ones he could not explain or comprehend. He could scarcely breathe, it felt as though he had just tossed his heart to the flames of burning desire. And he had no intention of fetching it out.
You stand, chair screeching against the ground painfully loud against the floor.
“I’m sorry, I- I have to go.” You manage to choke out, hand clutching at your mouth in a futile attempt at holding back your hunger as you sprinted for the door.
“Wait!” You heard Dex call out. A barista steps in his path trying to stop him as she fusses over his bleeding palm, blocking his attempt to reach you.
You didn’t dare look back, needing to get as far away from him as possible. The rush of wind outside did nothing to cool your clammy skin, in fact it only made it worse as you felt the stark, sickening contrast between your feverish body and the cool air.
This couldn’t be happening.
You had never felt such hunger before, at least not since the first time. And ever since then, you had done everything in your power to leash that creature inside of you.
Eventually making it to your front door, you fumbled blindly with the keys. Your hands shaking so violently you could barely fit it in the slot. But the moment it gave way, you threw yourself inside and slammed the door shut, twisting the deadbolt and sliding the chain on.
You stripped off your coat and tossed it into the dim apartment. Scraping the tangled hair back from your face, you felt baby hairs clinging to the damp sheen of sweat on your skin. You're unsure what to do. Half your mind screamed at you to curb the urge by blood bag, while the other begged you to not give into the craving.
As your mind and body bitterly fought for control, you paced around the room. Barely catching yourself against the kitchen counter as you trip over your jacket. Clammy hands slapping on the speckled granite. You force yourself to try and level your breathing. In, out. In, out. The fragile stillness was short lived. A weighty thud of your window breaking you right out of it.
You watch Dex slip through the frame, you really needed to remember to lock that damn thing.
“The hell are you doing?!” You demanded, turning towards him, your face pale with shock.
“You should really learn to lock that.” He replies smoothly.
You don’t have the capacity to figure out how he knows it’s usually open.
“Fuck you,” you snapped. “It's not like people normally crawl through someone’s window, five stories up in broad daylight.”
“You’d be surprised.” He said, flashing an infuriating grin. The sight caused an unsettling heat to pool low in your stomach.
“Get out, Dex.”
“Is it just my blood that affects you so much?”
“What?!”
“My blood,” he clarifies. “you seem to only act like this around mine. You barely noticed someone else’s.”
Rage boiled underneath your skin. The realisation clicking into place, he must’ve cut that man on purpose. Orchestrated the injury just to test your restraint. Gods, you were an absolute fool to let your guard down. To think there was a shred of humanity to him. Has this all been a trap? Every quiet afternoon at that table, all those hours. Every moment you thought a genuine attachment was blossoming. Taking root. A bond that you had actually grown to care about.
“How dare you, what am I to you? Some kind of lab rat?”
You hurl at him, voice cracking with fury.
“To think I actually believed you didn’t judge me for it, but this whole time you’ve been playing this sick little game!”
“No, that’s not what! I wasn’t doing this to mess with you!”
He pleads, taking a desperate step forward. His usual calm demeanour shattering.
You scoff. “Get out Dex, before I force you out.”
“Wait, just let me explain!”
“I said leave!” You shouted, shoving your hands against his chest to drive the point home. He didn’t budge, instead his hands clamp around your forearms, dragging you flush against him. Pinning you, stopping your shaking frame from continuing its attack. You both stood there, chests heaving. Sending huffs of air across the narrow gap between your faces. He dipped his head lower, forcing you to look at him as you struggled to break free. The sheer desperation in his eyes caused your anger to stall and simmer, an almost scared expression, haunted by actual panic.
“That night, what I saw… It was so hypnotic,” Dex murmured. “I saw a part of myself in you.”
You froze, face twisting in confusion as your body stopped resisting his hold.
“I have waited so long. So fucking long,” he continued, his brows furrowing a look of profound, aching yearning.
“I kept trying so hard to find an anchor, to steer myself in the right direction. But I couldn’t make sense of the world. It was like I was drowning. But you? you make me feel whole. Like I can finally breathe.” He stared down at you, his eyes intensely tracing over every feature of your face.
“I know how that sounds, how it looks. But I didn’t do this for nothing, I thought surely you felt that same pull.”
Silence dug its claws into you, there was nothing you could say. A rational part of your mind wants you to reject this, to label him as a lunatic, because you had barely scratched the surface of who he was. But you couldn’t pull away, the truth was paralysing. You couldn’t erase how effortlessly you had existed in his space, those quiet afternoons sitting together in a peace that required no words. Just the steady rhythm of his breath. You thought of the books you shared, his clumsy, awkward and endearing jokes. He had altered his very routine for those meetings. It was scary and dizzying how he had woven himself into your days.
“You deny that part of yourself, why?” His voice snapped you right back to the present.
“For a while, I’ve watched you. Seen how you have coiled up like a venomous serpent, completely tangled in yourself. Why do you do that? Why hide and deny something so beautiful?”
You couldn’t possibly speak the truth. Couldn’t confess how you had brutally murdered a man in such a violent, bloody way and took sick pleasure in doing so. When Dex had dragged you out of that warehouse and your eyes had latched onto the blood dripping from him. How a severe pulse of desire coursed through you. The disgusting urge to creep into his mind, push down into the membrane and layers and burn yourself in the very structure of his being. How the thought of tasting, drinking him would dissolve the shadow that loomed over you. In you. Cleanse the parts you despised of yourself with pleasure and find someone to meld perfectly with their own broken parts.
Lost in your thoughts again, Dex seemed to intuitively understand your silence. How overwhelming your realisation was. He saw how you struggled to form words, so instead, he brought his cut hand to rest against your cheek. Tilting your head a little higher to meet his gaze, his thumb lightly smeared his slick crimson blood over your lips. Your eyes flew open in fear. You didn’t want to hurt him, if you tasted him now what if you couldn’t stop? This act would open a door you could never hope or be able to close.
“Just drink.” The soft command has your breath hitching. His chest grazing yours as he leans a fraction closer, mouth twitching forward as if he subconsciously hunts your own.
Your tongue darted out, dragging your lower lip into your mouth. Tasting the metallic ghost of what was to come. A fading instinct screamed at you to stop, but the warning died the second his warmth brushed your skin. You were too far gone to say no.
Dex holds his hand steady, his eyes wide and unblinking, tracking your hesitation like a predator waiting for the trap to spring. When your teeth finally sank into the sensitive flesh of his palm, the world split open.
It hit you like a physical shock wave. A rush of dizzying, white hot pleasure swelled through your veins, lulling your resistance into a state of total surrender. Your body felt alight, burning from the inside out, yet simultaneously fastened by a bone deep relaxation. It was unlike any blood you had stolen before. It was sweet, heavy and fragrantly complex. A taste you knew you would never be able to unlearn.
A weak, breathless mewl escapes your throat. Your knees completely give out, your body involuntarily melting against his frame. The sudden weight shoved him back, his spine hitting the wall next to the window with a dull heavy thud. He lets out a low, ragged groan. A fractured sound torn between the sharp sting of the wound and a surge of submission.
He didn’t push you away. Instead, his free hand came up, his long fingers tangling into your hair to lock you against him. He rested his chin on the crown of your head, his entire body shuddering as he released a long, shaky sigh. He was breathing you in, letting you take whatever it was you needed or wanted. Drunk on how right it felt.
Driven by the hypnotising rush, your hips press flush against his, the friction sending a mind numbing wave of pleasure straight down between your thighs. Your mouth unlatches from his hand, drawing in gasping breaths of air you had deprived yourself of.
You looked up to meet his stare, Dex’s eyes devoured the sight of his ruby essence dripping and trailing multiple paths from your lips. With excruciating slowness he swiped a thumb affectionately over your skin, playing with his own blood. He looked ruined in the best possible way, gazing at you like a man who had just looked into the face of a god. Yet, beneath the worship, his mouth twisted into an arrogantly sinister grin.
He grips the back of your neck and pulls you to his lips as he greedily swallows your gasping breaths. His tongue invaded your mouth as he claimed you, tasting the silky, metallic tang of his own blood. The sheer maddening intimacy of it shattered his composure. The friction between you sparked an electric, dangerous heat. His large hand slid from your cheek to clamp around the back of your neck, his fingers digging into your hairline to anchor you flush against him. He wasn’t just kissing you, he was taking you.
Your hands scramble to feel him, trailing over his shoulders and back, while his other hand dragged a rough path down your spine, locking your grinding hips desperately between his. Dex lets out another broken and muffled moan against your lips. One of your fangs nick the tender flesh and he responds by flipping and pinning you to the wall instead. His touch roams wildly over you, gripping your waist, tearing you closer until there was no air between the two of you.
It was clear the threshold was gone, and the universe had locked the door behind you.
He begins to trail wet open mouthed kisses from the corner of your lips to your jaw, lazily lapping up some of the remaining blood from your skin. As he drops lower, sinking his teeth lightly into your neck, nibbling a bruise to mark you, the spell cracks. A gruesome, haunting image of the man you had drained dry floods your mind. The absolute shame and utter self disgust hit you like a physical blow. You were suddenly staring at the man’s corpse and reacting in pure panic, has you pushing against Dex’s chest, forcing separation, the sudden shove in rejection breaks him free of his haze, face falling into an uncharacteristically wounded and bewildered expression.
What the fuck just happened?! What are you doing?
He sees your face splinter into fear and shame. Automatically steps forward to try and stop your spiralling mind but his proximity only makes you panic more, as you pleaded him to stop.
“I’m sorry! I can’t, we can’t do this. Shouldn’t.” You shake your head, trying to rattle your thoughts back into place and make sense of everything.
He breathes your name in a quiet plea and you have to squeeze your eyes shut to not fall right back into him.
“Leave. Please, Dex.” You whimpered. Remaining frozen, arms wrapped around yourself. Too scared to open your eyes until you hear the window click, announcing he was gone.
Authors note: I have a little more planned out for his and I actually had fun writing these two, so if you’d like the next part please let me know! <3 I’m not the happiest with this but hey ho.
