Ellie visibly tensed but she knew she had agreed to meeting with the man, âexperience is a very kind word for what me and my husband went through on that island.â
   Owen nodded, knowing this might have been difficult for the other. "I'm sorry for that, Ellie." The male stated gently, "I would come to someone else for this if I had the choice, but... You know more about them than anyone else I could go to."
   âNo, youâre right. It was the 90âs and if a little 12 year old girl was able to hack into a UNIX system, this island was doomed from the very beginning. â Part of her knew that, it was 2015 and the technology she had when she was growing up verses the technology they had now â well it wasnât too hard to figure out who would win. It was hard to accept his words, and although he was trying to assure her - these dinosaurs, no matter how they were created, shaped and form â something about them struck a chord inside Lex. The problem was - because of Tim, she at least HAD to try this place out. Her younger brother gave her this trip to change her mind and so far all she had been doing was grumbling about how this park was a bad idea. She sighed, fingers pushing back the few blond strands that covered her colored hues and before she could agree with the man, her eyes widened at his offer and the panic set in. Her hands suddenly made their way on top of his shoulders, stopping him from getting inside the enclosure. Even if it was just an idea and he made no steps to further his offer, Lex still felt like she needed to stop him from making his point. âNo. I - I believe you.â She finally said with a hushed breath. âIf youâre willing to risk your life inside that cage with them â that either makes you crazy or honest. â
   "I'm not crazy." Owen assured the blonde. He's been walking in and out of that raptor cage ever since he began working at the park and so far the worst injury he had was a little bit of clawing. But, the raptors couldn't be blamed for that as they were just on the verge of maturing. It was their way of playing, after all, and Owen's fleshy body just wasn't meant to play against adolescent raptors. Still, he endured through whatever he had to, knowing that the outcome would have been worth it. "I've been training them to do a show for a long time now. They're more than willing to work with people now." At least the ones that they grew up with and pretty much considered a part of the pack and maybe even a father. But that was too prestigious of a title for Owen to take, at least seriously.
   "I'm not even really risking my life. This is my life." The way he saw it, the moment he stopped looking after those raptors would be the day he did throw his life away and everything that he's worked for. He wasn't known as the velociraptor guy around the theme park for just nothing, after all. The investment towards these creatures is very much real for Owen and a worthwhile one at that.
"You realize Iâm not just here to see the island right?" In a way, Mary wanted to laugh at him but she figured heâd be offended by it even though she was only laughing because he hadnât realized she worked there. "I just got hired to work here. Iâll be the one checked out the diets of each dino and making sure they have what they need. Why do you think I was watching so intently?"
   "Then why were you suggesting these raptors go on a vegan-approved diet?" Owen raised a brow. It seems the more he spent time with the other the more confusing she got. Either way, Owen had a job to do and that was to take care of his raptors. No one on the island would really know much about what they need to survive more than he does. "The raptors are doing fine here, so there's really no need to watch them so much." Owen stepped back from the cow in front of them, raising a hand to give the signal for the crane to start lifting the one ton mammal over the raptor enclosure.
"That is, indeed, good news."
"Are you trying to tell me that in your professional opinion, any more raptors would be a cause for concern?â
   "In a more formal way, yeah." Owen nodded, "But I was just interested in trying to get my point across without sounding like I'm trying to tell you all what to do." Conflict wasn't much in Owen's mind, especially considering he'd very much like to keep his job on the island.
   "What is this place? Is anyone hereâŠ?â
   "Sh..." Owen stated in a hushed voice. "Don't make too much noise." He huffed out a breath, looking around to watch for any predatory theropods. "How'd you get here?"
Taking his hand, Ellie shook it with a warm smile. âPlease call me Ellie, you must be Owen? How can I help you?â
   "I'll keep that in mind, Ellie." Owen smiled at the other. "I'm actually here to talk to you about the raptors before they were genetically spliced to be more docile. If that's alright with you? I know you had some... Experience with them."

"Or uh..we can pretend we donât care. Thatâs probably the easy thing to do around here anyways. I mean, I can just meditate on it later but you seem like you could handle not lettinâ it bother you. Come on, itâs just a cow. You probably eat hamburgers. So hey, no hard feelinâs from the cow. You probably ate his brother or somethinâ."
   "Ma'am, I'm just the velociraptor guy." Owen stated, raising his hands up with a shrug. "I'd really just appreciate it if you would stop guilt tripping me over this." He was just doing his job, after all. Even if it did mean having to sacrifice a few cows to feed the raptor pen. "If you're really against the whole thing, coming to this part of the theme park probably wasn't the best idea. The best I can do for you now is to just show you where the herbivore exhibits are on the map."
Sitting at her desk, she heard a knock looking up she said, âcome in.â
   Owen slowly pushed the door open, smiling at the blonde as they met eye contact. "It's an honor to meet you, Mrs. Sattler." Owen reached forward, offering a handshake as he stepped closer towards the woman's desk.
    Disbelief painted her face, but then she realized â why fight with the common man? He was just doing his job, making a living for whatever bills he had to pay. The blonde crossed her arms in front of her chest and she paused her thoughts. âThatâs what my grand father said and look what happened to him. He resigned, shut this place down before the media could bite his head off.â After the doctor had died, Tim had a bright idea to re-open Jurassic Park, make it into this beautiful place their grandfather had dreamt of building. Another long paused and she let her arms fall down to her sides, fingers now curling around the beam that separated the two from the creatures within their designated area. âIâm sure you and your team are doing the best that you can to protect these travelers but these creatures have a mind of itâs own.â She sighed. âBut the little girl that almost died inside of me â still fears the worst from this placeâ
   "I might be out of my place for saying this, but... Your grandfather didn't have the technology he had then than we do now." Owen stated in a much calmer tone. "These dinos were created to be more docile. After what happened with the old Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna, the scientists here thought up of a lot of ways to keep the dinosaurs contained." It was more reassuring words than fighting ones. He knew how tough this must be for the woman in front of him. Actually being hunted by raptors were things nightmares were made of, but the raptors inside those enclosures weren't the same ones that chased down the other. Not physically, nor mentally. "I can even show you. I'll hop in that cage myself and show you they're not that bad." Owen would offer the woman a chance to interact with the small theropods herself, but the raptors usually didn't take too kindly to those that wasn't him or the people that helped raised them from the beginning.
"Youâre pretty much right..man. Why do raptors gotta be so hard to please? I guess the only option we got is to yell really loud at the cow that weâre really sorry about this before we lower âem. He proally ainât gonna understand a word of what we say but my our consciousâ wonât bother us so much."
   "Excuse me?" Owen asked, startled at what he just heard. "Uh... I'm sorry, but we can't do that either way. Making sudden loud noises are kinda against the rules on this island." It'll only piss off the dinosaurs and that's something that nobody really wants. At least not unless they want to make every crew member's job on Jurassic World a hell of a lot harder.
     âI donât know how well my brother is paying you to work here but  all Iâm saying is that this place - no matter how safe it is, or how much people invest into this island, sooner or later these things youâve been feeding will be craving something more than cows.â Call her bitter, after the incident when she was a child, her role in this world was too shut this place and Isla Sorna down and with what success she had, the UN was working with her â some even supporting her cause. Yet, her brother - Tim Murphy, had clients with a bag of cash that wanted more from this park. âYouâre caging dinosaurs here. Thatâs bad enough. â
   "You're brother didn't convince me to work here." Owen promised. Mostly, it was Beth that did most of the talking and Owen most of the listening. He was skeptical at first, but he figured who else could handle the raptor enclosure better than he could. "Look, I've been working with these raptors for a long time now and I'll promise you right now they're not going to be craving humans... Unless they do something to piss them off." It was starting to make sense why the other felt so strongly about this. Owen wasn't into politics much, but he knew about the Murphy twins and their little debacle. "The people here are doing more than just caging dinosaurs. It's a scientific minefield as far as I'm concerned."
"Yeah, Iâm vegetarian. So imagine how I feel man. I mean, canât we like make some kinda artificial meat. Hey, they might like tofu, but we wouldnât know because no one ever wants to try it."
   "Well, they are carnivores." Owen huffed out a breath. "Artificial meat's gonna be too expensive, and tofu's not gonna give them the protein they need to survive. We can go ahead and feed them tofu and nothing else, but I'm not sure anyone's too interested in seeing skinny raptors that barely move."
           âAs a vegetarian what youâre doing is disgusting, but             as a person whoâs checking up on things here â you             should feel bad about working here.â
   "Why's what were doing here bad?" Owen raised a brow. He always wondered why there were people that came to the island and paid for the ticket and the trip only to protest. Thankfully, they were usually escorted shortly afterwards. "Call me a sociopath, but I don't feel bad about working here one bit."
   "Is it bad I kinda feel bad for this cow? It's not even gonna know what hit it when it gets lowered down to the raptor enclosure."
He nodded. He figured as much because they were dinosaurs after all, but he couldnât help but ask. âThey are like huge pets after all, right? JustâŠa lot more dangerous.â He chuckled lightly, scratching the back of his neck once more. âI should probably be getting out of your hair. I donât want you getting in trouble because of me.â
   "They're not dangerous if you don't piss them off." Owen assured the other male. "If you want to, you can go visit the Creation Lab and they'll tell you why these guys aren't as dangerous as they were from before. I'd explain it to you, but I don't really know everything science wise."
   "Hey, man. You're the one missing out on the shows and rides." Owen chuckled.
